Chapter 312
When Love Breaks by jack
Chapter 312
Brimming with the fearless vigor of youth, Molly left Christine and me wideâeyed in disbelief.
Snapping back to reality, worried about dragging her into trouble with Susan, I quickly pulled her behind me.
âCome at me if you want someone,â I declared.
Jane! However, Molly didnât show a hint of fear. She turned to Susan, âDidnât you say you didnât want the dress? Let Dorothy stop trying it on and come out.â
âHah!â Susan scoffed, her disdain palpable, âThatâs rich coming from you, a mere employee. Does your boss agree with you? Do you have any idea how much this dress costsâ¦â
âI can buy it!â Molly puffed up her cheeks, throwing out the words with bold defiance.
I pretended not to hear Mollyâs boast.
Susan tumed a furious shade of blue. âJane, you agree with this?â
âIf youâre not happy with it, then yes. Thatâs an option.â I smiled lightly, speaking calmly.
Susan gritted her teeth, glaring at Molly. âYou think you can afford it? This dress is over five million dollars!â
âOnly five million dollars? Maâam, are you broke or something?â Molly looked at Susan, genuinely puzzled. âOtherwise, why keep harping on about something thatâs only five million dollars?â
âYouâ¦â Susan was livid, her hand raised to strike Mollyâs face.
I moved to intervene, but someone was quicker.
Gregory approached from behind us, firmly grabbing Susanâs arm, his gaze stern. âSusan, how did my little sister upset you? Tell me, and Iâll have Grandma talk to her personally.â
My jaw dropped as I looked between him and Molly. Gregory was Mollyâs brother?
Susanâs face twisted. âShe⦠sheâs your sister? Donât try to fool me. Iâve never seen her with the Ford family.â
Gregory didnât reply, pulling out his phone to make a video call.
The call was answered instantly, revealing Adahâs face. âHumph, finally decided to call your grandma?â
Gregory raised an eyebrow unapologetically. âNot me, Grandma. Molly and Susan had a bit of a disagreement. Susan was about to hitâ¦â âAdah!â Susanâs shoulders slumped as she clutched Gregoryâs phone, quickly and soothingly explaining things to Adah, âItâs a misunderstanding, a big misunderstanding. Donât listen to Gregâ¦â
She moved aside as she spoke.
Molly turned to Gregory. âWhat are you doing here?â
Annoyed, Gregory retorted, âWhat do you think? You wanted a ride, and Iâve been waiting downstairs for ages.â
Typical siblings.
It dawned on me then. The person Gregory had asked me to pick up from RiverCity University was Molly. And those ladyâs slippers at his place? They must belong to Molly, too.
I looked at Gregory, puzzled. âHow come Iâve never seen your sister at River Villa?â
âShe hasnât been home much.â Gregory glanced at Molly, saying casually.
Molly beamed. âIâve moved back now, Jane. Youâll be seeing a lot more of me!â
Amidst the commotion outside, Christine heard everything in the dressing room.
Deciding to step in, Christine knocked on the door. âMs. Myers, do you need any help?â
âNo need!â Dorothy snapped, pushing the door open to emerge.
And she looked stunning. Not her. It was the dress that looked fabulous. On her, it moved with a captivating grace.
Mindful of Gregoryâs presence, Dorothy restrained her anger, only glaring at him. âWhatâs your deal with Jane? Why do you always stand
for her?â

âEnough, Dorothy!â Having finished her
