Finn Lewis nearly laughed out loud. Sarah Wood looked quite delicate, but Finnâs perspective had changed. For instance, it was summer and Sarah was wearing a shirt with short sleeves. One glance at her arms revealed them to be slightly thicker than an average girlâs, but âfatâ and âmuscularâ are two entirely different things.
Sarah was definitely strong. Had she undergone systematic training, she could certainly hold her own against an average adult man.
âWhat are you doing with your laptop?â Finn asked, stifling a laugh as he looked at the laptop bag resting on Kay Leeâs legs.
âIâm just playing games. Canât exactly do that at the shop, now can I?â Kay Lee promised, shrugging nonchalantly.
âYou still havenât given up, huh.â Finn laughed and shook his head. Kay Lee was truly captivated by gaming.
âOf course not! You wouldnât understand, this game is so much fun⦠oh right, how could I forget that youâre one of its designers?â Kay Lee rolled her eyes and decided to stop promoting the game to Finn.
âHahaha! Finn, see for yourself. Now that Kay Lee is completely obsessed, she goes around promoting this game to everyone she knows. Several of her friends have already been drawn in by her enthusiasm. Iâm about to cave in as well. Do you feel any guilt for driving Kay Lee to this extent?â Sarah Wood, seated in the back seat, asked, poking her head in between the two front seats. Finn thought for a moment then nodded, âYes.â
âSince you feel guilty, shouldnât you do something for us, her friends? You basically stole one of us away, you ought to make it up to us somehow.â Sarah continued.
Upon hearing Sarahâs words, Finn glanced at Kay Lee, who blushed at his gaze and couldnât bring herself to meet his eyes.
âI should.â Finn nodded.
âGreat! Now, as one of Kay Leeâs closest friends, not to say that Iâve done a lot for you, but Iâve at least done something. Shouldnât you do something for me in return?â Sarah blurted out swiftly.
âYes, indeed, I should,â Finn chuckled.
âSarah Wood, could you be any more shameless?!â Kay Lee couldnât hold her tongue any longer.
âHey, Kay Lee, donât start bending the rules now.â Sarah turned to face Kay and seriously responded, her face teeming with determination.
Left speechless, Kay Lee put her hands up in defeat. Finn couldnât help but laugh out loud and then asked: âWhat do you want from me?â
âI canât afford your fancy teas anymore,â Sarah said with undisguised self-pride.
âWhat about the three hundred million you swiped from Finn last time?â Kay Lee asked, her eyes wide in surprise.
âI donated it,â Sarah said matter-of-factly.
Finn glanced back at Sarah in surprise. She was busy in conversation with Kay Lee and didnât see Finnâs incredulous look.
âYou donated it? To that charity foundation you organize?â Kay Lee asked, flabbergasted.
âYes, that charity foundation. They were running out of funds, and that three hundred million is just enough to fill the gap.â Sarah shook her head and sighed. âKay Lee, you must not mistake me for a rich tycoon like yourself.â âWhat charity foundation?â Finn looked at Sarah, puzzled.
âWell, Iâd rather not tell you.â Sarah scratched her head, looking a bit embarrassed.
âItâs just a charityâ¦â Kay Lee started to explain but was cut off by Sarah. âKay Lee! If you dare tell him, I will ruin your reputation tonight!â Sarah threatened, glaring at Kay Lee.
The vehemence of Sarahâs words nearly made Finn swerve into the curb. He glanced at Sarah, wondering if she could even do what she threatened.
Even though Kay Lee had only said half of it, Finn already had a good guess at the rest. It was merely a charity foundation, after all. What could be so secretive about that?
âBy the way, Kay Lee, have you given any thought to your future plans? Are you taking up any endorsements or contracts?â Finn changed the subject to Kay Leeâs career plans.
âIâm not sure at the moment,â Kay Lee said, shaking her head, looking a bit troubled.
âYou arenât having any more problems, are you?â Finn inquired.
âProblems, with her?â Sarah scoffed. âFinn, Iâm telling you, give me three hundred middle-aged women and Iâll rule the world. Although Kay Lee hasnât got there yet, sheâs very close.â
Finn choked on his own saliva at Sarahâs comment. âWhere on earth did that come from?â He queried with a look of puzzlement.
âYouâll find out when you get there,â Sarah said, rolling her eyes. Kay shot Sarah a glare before speaking. âUh, there arenât any problems now. Before, several media channels reached out to Emily wanting to do exclusive interviews with me, but I turned them all down.â
âOf course, why bother with those unscrupulous media outlets? Just keep them on hold for now,â Sarah interjected, backing up Kay Leeâs decision.
âOkay, itâs all up to you, Kay Lee. Whether you choose to start taking up endorsements again, or acting in films or television shows. Itâs your call.â Finn pondered, not wanting Kay Lee to be idle as she was still young.
âIâve been contemplating that recently. Iâll probably start acting again soon. There have been several TV dramas and films reaching out to me with offers, many even for leading roles. But Iâve turned them all down, so far. I would like to seriously consider my future path,â Kay Lee confessed after mulling it over for a bit.
âHmm.â Finn nodded and smiled. During their conversation, their car quickly reached the entrance to the Moon of West Lake. Upon arrival, Finn was dumbfounded to see the parking lot already filled to capacity, with two T800s blocking the entrance.
Of course, they didnât stop Finnâs car. He drove in to find that there were no available parking spots outside, so he had to park inside. As the three of them were leaving the parking lot, a man with a young boy, no more than four or five years old, alighted from a car parked nearby.
âSon! Tell your old man, who do you want to marry when you grow up?â The man leading the boy by hand asked playfully.
âI want to marry my grandma because sheâs the nicest to me!â the little boy declared, his tone confident and his voice childishly sweet.
Both Kay Lee and Sarah laughed out loud at the boyâs innocent response. Finn shook his head, amused by the simplicity of a childâs thought process..
