Chapter 469: 463: Genius or Madman Part 3
As soon as Finn Lewis stepped into the hospital, he decided not to engage in any conversation with the people here. If he were to encounter a few more like the one at the entrance, he figured heâd go insane himself.
He followed Jack Lewis all the way into the ward. It was evident Jack was acquainted with the people inside. Most likely, he often visited, or perhaps he had alerted them of his arrival beforehand. Several doctors and security personnel along the way showed no reaction to Jackâs presence. It was only when he entered a quiet ward towards the back of the care home that the environment improved slightly.
It wasnât clear if patients here were more seriously ill, but most people Finn saw had been confined in their rooms. He was somewhat speechless. Such a stifling environment would make any normal person uncomfortable, let alone stay there willingly.
However, he would soon find out. Before long, he arrived at the innermost ward with Jack. After looking around, Jack directly pulled out a key from above the wardâs door, unlocking it.
Finn glanced at the key above and then at a small window within 20 minutesâ reach from where the key was placed. The patient inside could easily get the key by reaching out.
Following Jack into the room, Finn was taken aback. It was an absolute mess with a dishevelled man sprawled out sleeping on a recliner. The walls were cluttered with dense mathematical formulas written in various pen marks. Finn couldnât make much sense of these formulas, and he didnât know what the man had been working on, but he sneakily gestured to Olivia Thatcher.
Olivia naturally had a way to decipher the formulas in the room using her carâs miniature hidden reconnaissance unit. Therefore, Finn didnât need to worry himself.
âGregory Worthington,â Jack said aloud.R/eÌ/Ad lateSt ch/a/pters at Only
âHuh?â The dazed man opened his eyes. When he saw the two men in the room, Finn observed a spark of intelligence flash in his eyes.
Gregoryâs eyes widened, he leaned in and asked pointedly,âThe new type of additive, could it solve the issues I just mentioned?â
âNot only that, but it could also increase related performance by 45%.â Finn gave out the data.
âI want to talk to him privately.â Gregory immediately turned back to Jack.
âYoung Master, the formulas written in this room involve various fields including quantum mechanics, CPU architecture design, and complex mathematical problems. In addition, it seems that he has solved two of the so-called ten hardest math problems on Earth.â Oliviaâs voice sounded in Finnâs ear.
âYou guys chat privately, Iâll wait for you at the main entrance. If you are willing to leave, just follow him out.â Jack said succinctly, then turned around and walked towards the door, closing it behind him, and walked off towards the distance.
Once Jack had left, Gregory immediately got up from his chair, headed towards the door and peered out of the window. When he was certain that Jack was gone, Gregory quickly turned back around, returned to his bed, and started rummaging through a cardboard box from beneath it. Under Finnâs watchful eyes, he first discovered an instrument from beneath the bed and then another one from the bookshelf.
In less than five minutes, he had scavenged seven or eight instruments from all corners of the room. As he started assembling these, suddenly Oliviaâs voice rang in Finnâs ear, âWhoa, Young Master, our spy device has been detected and must retreat. Iâm starting to see this guy in a new light. These are unique light-wave interference devices that can crack optical invisibility and contain principles to block electromagnetic communications. Although they seem simple, to be honest, itâs a surprise.â
Oliviaâs comment also took Finn by surprise. Disrupt optical invisibility? That technology doesnât exist on Earth yet, right? However, Finn kept his thoughts to himself as he silently watched him hastily assemble the contraption. Soon after completion, some wall sparks ejected from one of the terminals that had been hastily plugged into the wall socket, followed by a switch being flipped on.
Subsequently, the room was filled with a peculiar âhummingâ sound. This sound gradually amplified, followed by a âcracklingâ outburst of sparks, and a pale green arc light suddenly erupted from the peculiar device. Followed by a loud âpopâ sound, sparks flew out from the device. The wall socket had turned into a charred black mess.
