Chapter 509: Chapter 503: Strengthening Power

This was a vast abandoned city, and the figures “wandering” along the broad streets reminded Finn Lewis of the movie Resident Evil from Floral Village. This scene was all too familiar, wasn’t it? Apart from not being as desolate as in Resident Evil, everything else was pretty much the same.

“I’m here, I can now tell you about this space. After you hear it, you can choose whether to exit and end this mission.” Zero’s voice was icy, but the content made Finn breathe a sigh of relief. At least, he still had a chance to run away, right?

“Go ahead,” Finn whispered, while observing the wandering silhouettes in the distance.

“The situation on this planet is indeed similar to the one in Resident Evil, but the only difference is that unlike your other six-dimensional space in the late 19th century on Earth, this one is in the same time, around 2018. Your location is in Turner City of the North Federation, and the cause of this world’s apocalypse was an invasion by an alien species.” Zero’s voice held no emotion, but his words sent a cold shiver down Finn’s spine.

“Icarus Insect Species, a purely biologically aggressive race, with strict hierarchical system. Apart from the higher insects which have intelligence, the lower insects strictly obey them. They are bloodthirsty, extravagant killers, existing purely for the expansion of their own populations.” Zero introduced Finn to his opponent.

After listening to Zero’s introduction, Finn couldn’t help but think of another movie, Starship Troopers. Just tell him, was this enemy they threw him into the ring with supposed to kill him?

Are you kidding me? Finn was exasperated. He was not equipped with any skills right now, although he had a gun in his lots. But this was a city! He had no idea how many dead were there. If he fought like this, Finn was certain that he would be instantly killed. What was the point of learning?

“Let’s start.” Finn was conflicted, but he finally nodded in agreement. As his voice fell, his vision went black, as if he was being teleported again. However, this time the darkness didn’t lift quickly. It felt like he was in a void.

Then, a severe pain surged from his brain. Finn let out an unconscious scream. Countless information plunged directly into his brain. Some information was forcibly fed into his brain, and the intense pain accompanied by a dizzying feeling that felt like his brain was swelling lasted for more than half an hour. The feelings abruptly disappeared, and the moment they did, his vision brightened, and he was back to where he’d been.

Just as he arrived, a wave of intense nausea rushed to his head. Finn quickly fell to the ground and started to vomit violently. The sound of violent retching echoed in the quiet city. Even before he could finish vomiting, a strange roar came from the distance. Subsequently, seven or eight shadows rushed directly at him from afar.

Finn was startled. The speed of the figures far exceeded his imagination. Not caring about the dirt left at the corner of his mouth, Finn instinctively drew two bladeless dagger handles from his lots. As Finn held the dagger handles, a crisp “click” sounded, and sharp blades sprang directly from the handles.

These two daggers looked simple, but their conversion costs were as high as 100,000 lots! One dagger worth 50,000 lots, Finn didn’t know what material it was made of, but it was definitely awesome, and it had some minor but practical features.

Just as Finn gripped these two daggers, the fastest-running figures had already rushed over. At this moment, Finn had a clear view of their faces. Unlike the zombies in the movie, they looked no different from real humans. The only difference was the bulging veins on their bodies and their frightening facial expressions. They looked extremely scary. Moreover, their eyes were a strange gray color, filled with dark red lines, which appeared exceptionally eerie.

The gruesome faces startled Finn. Finn’s body unconsciously rotated, effectively avoiding the two figures who were lunging at him. His right hand, while avoiding the two figures, stabbed into one’s brain from behind at an incredibly swift and weird angle. A strange scream came from the mouth of the figure whose brain was pierced by Finn. As Finn drew out the blade, the figure fell to the ground with a “plop”.
