Chapter 633: Chapter 627: Having A Lot of Money (Part 1)
âYour Highness, we have some bad news.â Dunn Monty whispered to Finn Lewis shortly after Caleb Shaw had left.
âWhat news?â Finn Lewis asked, startled.
âA rumor is circulating among the inner circles of the Death Star region â a new face, a primitive man from another planet, incredibly wealthy, has arrived for the first time on the Death Star. He supposedly holds at least tens of millions of star credits, earning considerable attention.â Monty relayed, grudgingly.
Finn Lewis furrowed his brow, âHow did this information leak out?â Tens of millions of star credits? He didnât possess that much, but he did have plenty of Roberts Coin. If word got out about his wealth in Roberts Coin, it could stir up even more frenzy.
âWho else, young master, but that 100 star credits you gave out when we entered the Death Star.â Monty said, somewhat helplessly.
âAlright then, whatâs your suggestion.â Finn doubted the morals of these other crews. Even the Galactic Federation officials werenât necessarily trustworthy. Not to mention, they were now in the Death Star, a place of boundless chaos. The individual who had sold the information about him could have asked for any price.
However, there was no room for regret in Finn Lewisâs way of life. He shrugged, âSimple, we now need to hire some mercenaries to guard us, and then wait for the reaction of the Blackwater Sect here.â
âMercenaries, can we trust them?â Finn thought for a moment before asking hesitantly.
âActually, sir, mercenaries can be quite reliable. Although a few bad apples exist among them, the majority uphold a decent reputation. After all, they still want to continue their work here. No one would be willing to tarnish their reputation for a single job. Even pirates have their own code of honor.â Monty assured.
âMr. Jenkins, nice to meet you,â Finn greeted, shaking Jenkinsâs hand. The greeting `s were similar to Earthâs practices.
âNice to meet you too, Mr. Lewis. Please forgive my abrupt visit,â Jenkins replied cheerfully.
âNot at all, even if Mr. Jenkins had not come, I would have sought an opportunity to know you.â Finn replied with a smile.
These pleasantries were not taken to heart by either side. Neither was new to the game, they knew which words to take to heart and which to disregard.
âHa, itâs our honor to have Mr. Lewis staying at the Blackwater Sect hotel,â Jenkins said with a smile.
âYou flatter me, Mr. Jenkins. If your hotel did not possess such strong resources and excellent service, I would not choose to stay here. I believe you understand even better than I the things which matter in a place like this, which is why I chose Blackwater Sect.â Finn shooted back playfully.
âMr. Lewisâs choice is unequivocally wise. As one of the three most powerful organizations in the Death Star region, choosing us is definitely the right move. We can guarantee Mr. Lewisâs absolute safety here,â Jenkins responded swiftly.
Finn chuckled. He knew not to take such words entirely seriously. It would depend on who he had provoked. If it was merely common folk from the Death Star region, then Jenkinsâs words would hold. However, should he have offended one of the big three, including Blackwater Sect, then these assurances were worth bupkis.
âWell, Mr. Jenkins, thank you in advance. But this time you came to...?â Finn chuckled, choosing to cut to the chase. Jenkins couldnât have possibly come merely to build relations. It would be perfectly clear to say that everyone who came to the Death Star, other than those with no options left, had an agenda. They couldnât possibly be here just for sightseeing.
Sightseeing at the Death Star? Wasnât that a suicide mission? Except for those tired of life, every visitor here had their own motive, none of them being pure.
