Chapter 39-1
Not A Small-Town Girl
Chapter 39
"The underground fight will happen soon. Theyâll try to sneak in while weâre stretched thin. The armyâs after our lab, so we need more guards. Once we have what we want, the borderâs just the beginning," Hugh said.
Hugh, the Wulf Clanâs strategist, had been key to their rise. Without him, they wouldnât have grown so quickly. His influence, second only to Jacksonâs, made him indispensable to the clan.
"Mr. Morris is right. Letâs set a trap," Jackson said, flashing a vicious smile.
Hugh nodded. "The armyâs the real problem. Weâll need to keep an eye on them."
Jackson grinned darkly. "If theyâre dumb enough to come here, they wonât leave alive."
On the armyâs plane, Elliotâs team was resting as they neared the border. Elliot woke them up. "We canât just fly in. We need to parachute into the border zone," Elliot said, explaining the plan.
Maximus frowned. "Why parachute? Why not just fly straight in?"
"Are you an idiot? If Shadowâs plane can get blown up, ours wonât make it in one piece," Justin snapped, shooting him a look.
"Exactly. If we fly in, weâll be spotted. We need to jump in from here, in a blind spot. Weâll be fine," Elliot said firmly.
"Get ready, everyone. We jump in five minutes," Elliot ordered.
They quickly got into position.
"Now, jump!" Elliot commanded.
One by one, they jumped, with Elliot going last.
Their parachutes landed in the sea-perfectly in the blind spot near the cliffs. "Everyone okay?" Elliot asked, checking on them as soon as he landed.
"Weâre fine."
"Weâre good."
Elliot turned to Lydia, concern on his face. "You alright?"
"Iâm good. Itâs nothing," Lydia said with a reassuring smile.
"No wonder no oneâs watching this spot. Thereâs a cliff right here!" Luke said, scanning the area.
"Looks like weâre climbing," Justin said, eyeing the cliff.
"This is perfect. Itâs been a while since Iâve had a mission, and this cliff isnât that high," Maximus said, his excitement clear.
"Weâll swim to the cliff. This spotâs not totally safe," Elliot said, noticing helicopters still patrolling overhead. They swam quickly to the cliff. The cliff wasnât tall, but it was steep.
"Alright, everyone, weâre climbing," Elliot said.
At Hades Fortress, Nathan had just gotten word- the army had entered the border.
He rushed into Davidâs office. "Boss, the armyâs here. Their planeâs hovering over the cliffs. Theyâve parachuted into the sea and are climbing the cliff now."
David didnât seem worried. "Lead them to the lab," he said coolly. He wanted the army and Wulf Clan to clash.
"The armyâs only about ten strong. They donât stand a chance," Nathan said thoughtfully.
"If they die here, the army wonât let it slide," David muttered, his mind elsewhere. âI need to wrap this up quickly. I wonder what Danielleâs doing...
