Caleb Chartier

I pushed myself off my bed only to fall down once again.

"Seriously?" I heard a voice groan. I was too tired to respond or look at who talked. I already knew who it was anyways. Alia. The eldest of my siblings who's also known as my older sister. In total I had around six siblings including Alia. I was the third child, making me the middle. But I was mostly labeled as the "failure" with no ambition whatsoever. Originally, I was supposed to be one of the candidates to inherit my father's company, but that will never happen.

"Cal get up! You're on my rug!" Alia shrieked. I yawned which caused tears to fill my eyes and make it more blurry.

"Leave me alone." I mumbled.

"Not until you get up!"

I sighed and rubbed my eyes. I blinked a few times and looked around to see where I was.

"Everything hurts." I said.

Alia scoffed and crossed her arms. "Oh I don't know why.. maybe it's because you threw yourself on the ground!" she commented sarcastically.

"You're so mean.." I whined, stretching my head up just so I could see her face. Alia had always been beautiful. She 100% got our mom's genes. I also inherited most of my mothers, but as a male, I do not appreciate it. Barely being 5'7 was not on my list!

"Ugh whatever! Just get off my rug!" Alia exclaimed.

"Dammit give me a second!!"

"I gave you five minutes already! We also need to get to school so hurry up!"

...school?

"Wait what?" I asked.

"There's no way you forgot it's Monday. Everyone's been waiting for you downstairs." Alia said. "Cmon Cal, don't bring us down." Again was left unsaid.

I hurried got up and put on a hoodie and sweatpants. I didn't have enough time to plan an outfit let alone eat. As soon as I got downstairs I saw everyone dressed in uniforms. Of course, I was the only one who didn't go to the same private school as them. I was put in public because I couldn't keep up with everyone else.

Alex, one of my brothers scoffed when he saw me.

"I can't believe we had to wait for this piece of shit." he huffed.

Franchis, one of my sisters laughed.

"Don't public schools have buses? We can leave him and he can ride on one of those!"

I groaned. I knew better than to say anything back. I just stood there while the rest of his siblings complained about me and how "useless" I was.

It didn't hurt as much as it used to.

"Guys! Can we just go?" Alia loudly shouted over everyone. Alia was a good sister, but even she knew better than to fully associate herself with me. Sometimes she'd join in on arguments and try to defend me but nothing more than that. If I had to choose a favorite sibling, it would be her.

All of us hurried into the car, packed and tight. Even though my school was closer to home, our driver would always drop my siblings off first. This caused me to constantly be late.

What was the point of it?

I was lodged in the back and pressed against the seat. Gosh, they didn't even try to give me space. Bitches.

It took around 15 minutes for us to finally arrive at my siblings school. They all piled out with "goodbyes" or "bye" to the driver. Not a single one was directed towards me. But from far away, I saw Alia give me a sad look. She was nothing like the others, right?

Finally, after an endless drive, I arrived at my public school, 'Vales High School.' I need to know who came up with that name because it's the most boring thing you could come up with.

I gave the driver a glare as I got out the car and slammed the door closed. I shut up a middle finger as he drove away.

"Cal!" I heard someone shout before a skinny body clasped onto me.

"What—"

"You're so late!" I recognized the voice as Grace who my friend group liked calling "Gracy."

"Why aren't you in class?" I asked, pushing her off of me. She shrugged.

"It's resource first period so I'm free to roam around." I nodded. Resource was basically a free period used to get work done or go out to get something. Me and Grace had the same schedule so I most likely had resource too. That means I didn't miss anything.

"But then I noticed that you weren't here and I guessed you were late. I decided to wait for you." she said, twirling a clump of hair. She had natural curls and slightly tanned skin. In my opinion, she was a beautiful girl. I'd date her if I was straight.

"Thanks. I'm gonna go to my locker and buy some breakfast. I'll be right back." I said. My backpack hung off of one shoulder.

"Okay! I'll be waiting!" Grace exclaimed. I wondered how no one has bothered us because of how loud she was. Her voice was so high-pitched I thought I'd go deaf before the age of eighteen.

I walked to my locker and opened it up. A bright pink sticky note greeted me along with a fresh breakfast. Again? Seriously?

I read the note and examined the breakfast sandwich closely.

I didn't see you this morning :(

I bought you a breakfast in case you didn't eat.

You tend to do that when you're late.

Eat so you don't get sick!

Love you, Caleb.

From: Glint.

I've gotten pretty used to receiving these notes and "presents" from 'Glint.' I didn't know who they were, what they looked like or even how they knew me. It's been going on for two years now. I can't even remember when it exactly started but knew the notes have always been frequent. Sometimes they would appear in my room, sometimes in my locker, sometimes in my bag. Each time I received some sort of small gift ranging from keychains, gift cards, food, money or something.

At first it bothered me.. but I couldn't help but want more. This was the only person that actually committed to my life and din't leave. I know it's unhealthy— but I can't stop the feelings from erupting.

It should scare me.. but it didn't.

I even had a basket in my room when most of the gifts I've received. It was tucked away under my bed along with all the sticky notes. I've practically memorized their handwriting by now.

My best guess was that Glint was my age and in my school.

I slid the note in my pocket and pushed my backpack into my locker. The sandwich was already in my mouth by the time I came back to see Grace.

"Gosh what took you so long?!" she loudly asked.

"Shh! Be quiet before someone gets angry because of how loud you are!"

Grace growled. "Whatever! They can go suck my ass for all I care!"

I groaned. "Let's just go to next period before we're late."

Thanks for reading up to here!

I hope you are all enjoying the story so far. Chapter 02 will be posted in around 2-7 days.

My posting times will most likely start off consistent (I assume).

QUESTION: Should I describe Caleb's look (body, face etc) or should I leave it open for imagination?
