William stood still, staring at Jasperâs departing figure in a daze.
The weight of Lawrence in her heart has not diminished with the passage of time, but has instead grown heavier.
But was the person she saw today really Lawrence?
If Lawrence is really found, how will Jasper treat him? And what kind of existence will he become in Jasperâs heart?
In the future, everything is unknown.
But this unknown makes him both excited and scared!
Jasper arrived at the study where Jason was looking at company documents. When he saw his daughter, he smiled and asked, âWhatâs up? Shouldnât you be sleeping at this time?â
âDad, I donât know if the person I saw in court today was Lawrence, so I want you to help me check,â
Jasper said straightforwardly.
âLawrence?â Jason raised an eyebrow, seeming a bit Jasper recounted to his father the events before and after he saw that figure in the courthouse today.
âOkay, Iâll look into it,â Jason said. âBut if that person really is Lawrence, what do you plan to do?â
Jasper blinked his eyes. âOf course, Iâll apologize to him. I should have answered that phone call at the time.â
âAnd then?â Jason asked.
âAnd thenâ¦Iâll be good to him. Iâll treat him very well. If he needs any help, Iâll do everything I can to assist him.â
âSo what if he doesnât forgive you? What if he blames everything on you? What are you going to do?â
Jason asked again.
Jasperâs face fell. âIt was my fault to begin with, so even if he doesnât forgive meâ¦itâs normal. Iâll try my best to make it up to him.â
Seeing his daughter like this, Jason stood up and walked over to her, pulling her into his arms. âYouâre my daughter, Jasper. You donât need to beg anyone for forgiveness. You also need to understand that if he really blames you, it just shows that he canât distinguish right from wrong. Youâve done enough with what happened back then and the Reed familyâs search over the years.â
Jasper leaned into her fatherâs embrace. Is it enough? But she still felt like there was so much more she needed to do.
âDad, do you think Lawrence will hate me?â she asked, her voice choked with emotion.
âI donât think so. Werenât you guys good friends before? He wonât blame you for it. Just now, I was just talking casually,â
said Jason. However, a hint of worry flashed in his eyes.
Grace found out about her daughterâs possible encounter with Lawrence in court on the second day.
âCould it be Lawrence?â Grace asked her husband.
âI donât know, but the investigation results should be out in a little while,â said Jason. He had already arranged for someone to retrieve all the surveillance footage from the court during that time period.
So Grace stayed in Jasonâs office, waiting together for the investigation results.
