“Dad, I don’t know if the person I saw in court today was Lawrence, so I want you to help me check,”

“So what if he doesn’t forgive you? What if he blames everything on you? What are you going to do?”

Jason asked again.

Jasper’s face fell. “It was my fault to begin with, so even if he doesn’t forgive me…it’s normal. I’ll try my best to make it up to him.”

Seeing his daughter like this, Jason stood up and walked over to her, pulling her into his arms. “You’re my daughter, Jasper. You don’t need to beg anyone for forgiveness. You also need to understand that if he really blames you, it just shows that he can’t distinguish right from wrong. You’ve done enough with what happened back then and the Reed family’s search over the years.”

Jasper leaned into her father’s embrace. Is it enough? But she still felt like there was so much more she needed to do.

“Dad, do you think Lawrence will hate me?” she asked, her voice choked with emotion.

“I don’t think so. Weren’t you guys good friends before? He won’t blame you for it. Just now, I was just talking casually,”

said Jason. However, a hint of worry flashed in his eyes.

Grace found out about her daughter’s possible encounter with Lawrence in court on the second day.

“Could it be Lawrence?” Grace asked her husband.

“I don’t know, but the investigation results should be out in a little while,” said Jason. He had already arranged for someone to retrieve all the surveillance footage from the court during that time period.

So Grace stayed in Jason’s office, waiting together for the investigation results.
