Suddenly, the several girls looked embarrassed, with one girlâs face turning bright red as she exclaimed, âJasper, we were just trying to show our concern for you. Thereâs no need to speak so harshly!â
âSo I think I donât need this kind of concern,â Jasper replied. âBesides, when you care about someone, do you like to arbitrarily accuse them? Do you think you know how things should be without understanding anything? Donât you find it ridiculous?â
âThe post was very clear, and besides, if William had nothing to hide, why would he have blackened the forum?â the other party said.
Jasper sneered, âWhat evidence do you have to prove that he hacked the forum? If you donât have any evidence, then youâre just making false accusations. I remember that making false accusations can land you in jail. Do you want to go to court with the Barlow familyâs lawyers?â
Several girlsâ faces changed upon hearing this.
One of them quickly said, âWeâ¦we were just talking nonsense. We didnât mean anything else. Letâs just say we were being nosy.â After speaking, she quickly pulled the others back to their seats.
After this incident, the classmates in the class looked at Jasper with a different look.
Jasper didnât care about the strange looks, as she only cared about the people she wanted to care about. As for others, they were simply not important to her!
At noon, Jasper had lunch with William in the school cafeteria as usual.
There were always strange looks and whispers around them, and Jasper knew what they might be talking about.
Thinking about the uncomfortable things her classmates said this morning, Jasper suddenly spoke up, âWilliam, do you want to go out to eat?â
William looked up and his gaze fell on her face. âDo you want to go out to eat?â
âYeah, the food in the school cafeteria is getting a bit boring.
I want to try something different,â she made an excuse, not wanting him to become the subject of gossip and not wanting him to hear any more hurtful words.
âOkay,â he replied.
She let out a sigh and the two of them stood up, walking towards the school gate.
Once outside the school, Jasper found a KFC. âItâs been a while since Iâve had this. Letâs have it for lunch today.â
He seemed lost in thought and nodded in agreement.
The two of them walked into the restaurant and found a seat. âWhat do you want to eat? Iâll go order,â
William said.
âIâll have a burger combo, non-spicy,â said Jasper.
William turned around and ordered two combo meals. After a moment, he returned to their table and placed Jasperâs meal in front of her.
Jasper picked up the burger and began to eat.
âThe taste of this place hasnât changed much over the years,â Jasper said. âWhen I was a kid, I used to love their food. My mom would bring me here every week.â
âBut you gradually stopped liking it, didnât you?â William asked.
âBut occasionally having it once is not bad!â she said. âBy the way, why arenât you eating?â
He brought the food over and now only she was eating!
