Chapter 54
Savvy Son-in-law by VKBoy
CHAPTER 54 Not long after Artur left, Jane came to the Sterling villa to introduce her boyfriend to Rebecca, but she kept on talking to Veronica on the first floor after seeing the escalator being destroyed. âYou mean to tell me you installed this like two days back, and youâre removing it now?â Janeâs head swelled from anger. âDo you guys have any idea how much money youâre wasting? I can buy a freakinâ house with what youâre wasting here.â âItâs not my idea,â Veronica yelled back. âItâs my sisterâs idea, so go and yell at her.
Not me!â
âHuh, fine! Iâll beat some sense into her!â Jane hurriedly started walking, but with the escalator being removed, she had to stop.
âWait, how do I get to the first floor?â
âThereâs a staircase leading up from the backyard,â said Veronica.
âGot it,â she wrapped her arm around her boyfriend and strode forth confidently. Those who didnât know about Jane could have easily mistaken her for the heir of the villa.
âIs that her boyfriend?â Veronica didnât seem to like Janeâs boyfriend. âHeâs too macho. Not my taste. If I get caught up in those arms, Iâd freak out instead of feeling comfortable!â
Unlike Veronica, her sister Rebecca was impressed by Janeâs boyfriend. âA wrestler needs to have this much of a build,â she said and even touched his bicep once after taking his permission.
Jane kept hugging her boyfriend all the while, her arms circling around his narrow waist.
Once the pleasantries were over, Jane yelled at Rebecca for wasting the money, and then Rebecca explained everything that had happened, excluding some awkward moments. âArtur Bonsbell is such a douchebag?â Jane couldnât believe it. âTo think I had a crush on him when I was in college...â she could only shake her head in disappointment, but then she kissed her boyfriend. âI have Donovan, so I think I hit a jackpot. Heâs taller, stronger, and cooler than Artur!â
Donovan didnât seem to have a problem with kissing Jane in Rebeccaâs presence, but Rebeccaâs face gained pink âHey, hey! You guys look like youâre gonna have a go at it in my room!â she almost yelled. âHuh, did you forget where you first had sex?â Jane asked back Rebeccaâs shoulders jerked up and down. âD-Donât you talk about such private things before your boyfriend.â
âHmph, fine,â Jane wrapped her arm around Donovanâs arm. âWeâre thinking of watching a movie together, but Donovan likes big-budget action movies, so Iâm thinking...â
âAlright. Iâll ask for my dad to book some tickets in advance,â Rebecca said, âthough I donât know if he even announced the release dates.â âI told you sheâd do it,â Jane punched Donovanâs chest in excitement and then hugged Rebecca and planted a kiss on her cheek. âYou are my best friend for a reason, but pick the best seats in the theater, okay?â
Rebecca didnât know whether to laugh or cry.
âBy the way, where is your Benjamin?â Jane wiggled her brows up and down.
âMY Benjamin?â Rebecca swiftly pinched Janeâs thigh.
âAUHHWW!â Janeâs cry was a tender mixture of moan and scream. âHeâs your husband, so of course, heâs your Benjamin!â
Rebecca tried to pinch her again, but Jane moved back Donovan, however, purposely pushed Jane forward so she would get caught by Rebecca.
âDonut! How could you betray me!â Jane cried out. âYou guys keep talking,â he said and walked out, looking a bit tired. âIâll be waiting outside.â After some ear twisting, Rebecca let go of Jane. Both were panting, and then they laughed together.
âYou seem to have a good boyfriend,â Rebecca said. âHe seems sensible.â âWell, heâs not at all sensible in bed, I tell you,â Jane whispered. âWeâve had sex like sixteen times yesterday.â She even showed her hickies on her collarbone and waist. She was about to show the marks on her inner thighs, but Rebecca stopped her.
âStop it, Jane!â
âWhy?â Jane purposely teased her. âYou feel like having sex now, donât you?â âHmph, youâre too easy to read!â Rebecca grappled with her and choked her with a suffocating grip. âIf you think mere words can melt my self-control, you havenât understood me well enough.â Right after she said that, she thought back to the song Benjamin sang the other night and wondered if what she just said was really true or not.
Seeing Jane struggle for air, Rebecca let go of her, and her mind focused elsewhere.
Jane gasped for air. âWere you trying to kill me or what?â she booted Rebeccaâs ankle, making her cry at the top of her lungs.
Donovan and all the workers who heard her scream came running inside, only to see Jane forcibly shutting Rebeccaâs mouth while tears flowed out of Rebeccaâs eyes. âWhat happened?â Donovan asked in worry.
âNothing,â Jane grinned. âWe were just playing.â
Meanwhile, in the Sunshine Casino.
In the basement, more than a dozen security guards were down on the floor, with broken teeth and jaws. Only two men were standing by the table stacked with money. One was the owner of the casino, a bald guy in a red suit, and the other was Alfred in his usual beggarâs clothing. And the beggarâs staff he held had blood all over it.
âW-Who the fuck are you?â the owner was sweating all over, especially from his bald head.â How can you beat someone so cruelly?â
âWhy are you playing innocent now?â Alfred smacked his bald head with the stick and made him bleed.
âUgh...â he cringed in pain. âFuck.â Alfred raised the stick again. âWait,â he immediately took out the platinum card from his purse. Alfred stared at him for a long three seconds, sending shivers down his spine, before he plucked the card out of his shaky fingers. âYou should have done this when I was asking you nicely.â He picked a handful of hundred dollar bills, turned around, and left while wiping the blood off the walking stick with the cash.
Even after Alfred left, the owner couldnât stop himself from shaking, and he hit the table in utter frustration and screamed.
Alfred casually walked out of the casino, and the guard standing outside had asked if he got what he wanted, to which Alfred showed him the card. âIs that card really important?â the guard asked, having received a tip for allowing Alfred to enter the casino. âYou could have just blocked it and requested a new card from the bank, couldnât you?â
Alfred smiled and said, âItâs not the card thatâs valuable but the symbol we put on it.â He put the card in his pocket and walked away, seemingly with the help of the walking stick.
