Chapter 258: Enough Talking
Love Slave to the Mafia Boss's Passion
What did Hayden just say? Heâll deal with me. What does that even mean?
"You should stay here for a while just to be safe andâ¦donât play around too muchâ¦" Hayden said as he looked at his brother pointedly.
"Youâre always so strictâ¦" Harvey complained openly.
"Just do as I say," Hayden ordered firmly.
"Sure. What do you plan to do with her?" Harvey asked and I could feel his eyes on me.
I listened to the conversation of the brothers in wonder and was surprised that Harvey had asked the question that was on my mind.
"I havenât decided. Donât worry, she wonât be stepping a foot outside. Neither will she speak to anyone," Hayden replied very calmly.
Harvey nodded with agreement before he flashed a smile my way. Heâs so evil. Heâs justâ¦twisted and evilâ¦
"Well, from what I could tell from my inspection just nowâ¦her neck is quite slim, and her skin is soft and tender. Itâs such a waste that sheâs so stubborn and doesnât seem to take instructions very well," Harvey commented.
Hayden did not respond to his brotherâs comments, he just nodded in agreement. Harvey looked my way before sighing.
"Itâs such a shame, really. She did grow up into a decent woman. She was just a baby when I saw her last, time really has flown by. I hope we meet again, Malissa. I hope youâre still sane by thenâ¦" Harvey said with a teasing laugh.
"Enough talking," Hayden muttered.
Harvey closed his mouth immediately and the conversation between the two brothers ended there. To my ultimate dismay, Hayden turned to face me for the first time since entering the room. My heart beat so fast that my head started feeling light. My lips quivered and my hands felt cold and numb. Although Hayden hasnât said anything to me, I was already so scared. This time, I really went and did it.
I went directly against his orders, and I had no real excuse for myself.
I had no idea why Hayden had to fake his brotherâs death or what plan they had in mind; however, it was clear that no one, including myself, was supposed to find out about it. Haydenâs blue eyes stared at me coldly and I wasnât sure if he even saw me at all.
I was too scared and too consumed by my own guilt to meet his eyes, so I glanced down at the floor while I waited for him to tell me what he wanted me to do.
Slowly, his hand reached out and grabbed my wrist. His hand felt so warm against my own cold skin. Without saying a word to me, Hayden turned around and pulled me roughly along with him. His grip on my wrist was tight and he refused to loosen it. I let out a small whimpering cry at the pain that dug into my wrist.
It hurtsâ¦it really hurtsâ¦
Without turning back to look at me, Hayden continued walking forward at a face pace. I struggled to keep up with him and was always running after him. He pulled on my arm mercilessly as he dragged me towards the door of the room. It was like he wanted to take me out of there as soon as possible and I had to say that I didnât want to stay there in that room any longer either.
"Hayden! Donât be so rough on her. Broken bones donât heal that easily, you know that, right? Of course, you do. Youâre a doctor and all. Oh Malissa, you donât need to worry, Iâll take care of Little Hayden for you!" Harvey called loudly after us.
The sound of his laughter echoed loudly behind us. We reached the door of the large room, finally, and Hayden pulled me after him out of the door before he kicked the door closed with his foot. The door shut with a loud bang from the force of his kick. The sound echoed along the long and dark hallway. Unlike when I entered the dark hallway, I was making my way out of it along with Hayden.
His grip on my wrist didnât relax and it hurt with each pull of my arm.
When we made it back to the fork in the path, I was unfortunately reminded that I had a special dinner planned for tonight. Judging from the way things are playing out, I doubt that we would have the special dinner together. Furthermore, I doubt that we would have any peaceful dinner together at all.
It had a been a long while since Auntie called for me to meet her and I hoped that she wasnât worried about me. I shook my head to clear my thoughts when I realized that I should be worrying more about myself and the situation that I was in rather than worrying about that old lady or anyone else.
Hayden stood next to me with his hand still around my wrist. I summoned my courage and glanced up at his face. As expected, his face was cold and completely void of any emotions. I wondered what he was going to do to me. Would he lock me up in my room?
That idea was certainly incorrect because instead of dragging me back in the direction of my rooms, Hayden dragged me into his wing of the mansion. Although he has brought me here often enough by now, I cringed as I felt that I was in for a not-so-pleasant surprise for this particular visit. A short while after, I found out that I was right.
We arrived at the large doors leading to Haydenâs bedroom, but he didnât stop walking. Instead, he dragged me right past it without even pausing.
Where is he taking me?
We walked past the door to his bedroom and that was when I realized that I didnât know what lay beyond in his wing of the mansion beyond his bedroom. After a short walk down a smaller hallway that I had never been to before, Hayden came to a stop at a tall door.
