Chapter 50: Separation
Love Slave to the Mafia Boss's Passion
Me first?
"Itâs okâ¦you can go first. Iâll be slow soâ¦" I said in a shaky voice.
"You go first. Itâs safer that way. If you fall, I can catch you. If you get tired halfway, I can wait for you or push you upâ¦" Hayden said, his tone as emotionless as always.
"Okâ¦" I agreed hesitantly.
"Ladderâs ready!" I heard a manâs voice shouting down from above us.
Hayden moved towards the ladder and began pulling on it to test its stability. Once he was satisfied that the ladder wouldnât come falling down, he gestured for me to start climbing up.
Well, here I goâ¦
It was a long climb but somehow, I managed to make it all the way to the top. Hayden followed after me without any trouble. I felt dead tired, and I was sure that my body would be aching the following morning. I made a silent promise to myself to exercise more.
"Take her to the nearest hospital," Hayden instructed one of his men.
"What about you?" I asked in panic.
"Iâm fine. You go along with them," Hayden said as he brushed aside my concern.
This wasnât making any sense at all. I was pretty much fine with some small scratches here and there because Hayden shielded me with his body. That means that Hayden is in much worse shape than I was no matter how I looked at it.
"You need to go to the hospital, Hayden," I said, desperation clear in my voice as I pleaded with him.
He needs medical attention. Why canât he see that?
Not only that, none of the other men spoke up about taking Hayden to the hospital either. What is wrong with the world that they live in
"Take herâ¦" Hayden commanded his men once more.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
I watched as the men approached me and I started taking a couple of steps back. Why wouldnât Hayden come to the hospital with me? We should just go together.
"What about you, Hayden? Where are you going?" I asked. I couldnât believe I was thinking this but for the life of me, I didnât want to be separated from Hayden.
"Letâs go," Hayden turned to say to the man called Luka.
"Take the missy to the hospital and then take her back to the penthouse. Got it?" Luka said to the other men in black. There was a serious look in his eyes as he made sure that the men understood his command.
"Wait! Hayden!" I cried out but neither Hayden nor Luka turned to look my way.
I watched the back of the two men walk away until the darkness of the forest swallowed them completely. Now I was alone with the group of men in black who were supposed to escort me to the hospital. I didnât care about myself right now, I just wanted to know where Hayden was going and if he was going to get his wounds treated.
"Where is Hayden going?" I asked the men as they ushered me into a walk.
"Weâre taking you to the hospital," one of the men in black said in a bored voice.
"What about Hayden? Heâs hurtâ¦" I continued talking to them and asking them these questions all the way to the car.
However, not once did I get a reply that I was desperately searching for. I didnât understand what was going on at all. Where did Hayden and Luka go?
â¦
"I guess the old man is pissed out of his mind, huh?" Hayden said as he pulled out his phone from his pantâs pocket to read the message from his father once again.
âWhat the FUCK did you just doâ¦â was all that the message said but Hayden knew what state his father was in.
"You bet. You basically beat the crap out of one of our biggest clientâs son. You do know that Joshâs daddy helps with shipping our supply too? Plus, that jolly boyâs father is a good friend of your daddyâ¦" Luka said followed by a sigh as he walked side by side with Hayden.
"I went easy on him. I really did," Hayden said.
Luka couldnât stop himself from laughing loudly at what he was hearing. The old manâs deep voice echoed through the woods.
"Soâ¦what did the jolly boy do?" Luka asked referring to Josh.
"Heâ¦played with something thatâs mineâ¦" Hayden said. His tone was light but there was a dark and deadly look in his blue eyes.
Luka didnât miss the look in Haydenâs eyes, and he could guess what that âsomethingâ that Josh played with was.
"Hmmâ¦I understand you, Hayden. No one likes it when someone elseâs touches their toy without their permission," Luka replied as he grinned at the younger man.
"He was one of my best friends too, so obviously, I had to teach him a lesson," Hayden said with a shrug. The wound at the back of his head had stopped bleeding already and the pain didnât bother him all that much.
"You could have gone easy on him. Heâs notâ¦made like usâ¦you know?" Luka said as he looked up at the dark sky through the parting in the branches of the trees.
"I told you. I went easy on him. He was very lucky that I wasnât carrying a gun," Hayden said defensively.
"A broken nose, two fractured ribs and countless other bruisesâ¦" Luka recounted with a sigh.
"Whatâs that? Sounds like a shopping list from your grandma," Hayden said with a laugh.
"My grandma is long deadâ¦stupidâ¦" Luka replied before laughing along with Hayden.
"You better comfort me after my old manâs done with me," Hayden spoke up after a short pause.
"Sureâ¦although, Iâm sure youâll rather be comfort by that little missy," the old man said as he flashed Hayden a knowing smile.
"Who knowsâ¦" Hayden mumbled.
"Why donât you just marry her for real, Hayden?" Luka asked, curiously.
"Iâm not marrying anyone except Amelia," Hayden said firmly.
"And let me guess, you still donât plan on taking over the group after your old man eitherâ¦" Luka said before sighing loudly.
"Youâre right. So donât get your hopes up. Sheâll be gone when her thirty days are overâ¦" Hayden said casually.
--To be continuedâ¦
