CHAPTER 28
DESTINY'S LOVE
Sailub's POV
I was in my office, Pon had been avoiding me for a week, he wouldn't eat lunch with me, he would just eat alone with weird foods, go to the bathroom most of the time and take breaks.
he would act weird and not approach me like before, he was cold and didn't act lovingly towards me, I would get annoyed most of the time with his clingy side yet I was missing him.
am I falling in love? is this what falling in love feels like? I would think about him, worry about him, I would even forget the deal and contract between us..
suddenly while my mind wandered off at the void of the room, a knock from the door was heard, I glanced at the golden wood door and said, "Come in!" loudly.
"hey, what's up? you seem oddly quiet, you haven't come out of the office since the morning." said Ping who entered the office with his hands inside his pocket.
"it's just.. Pon is acting weird, weirder than usual, he isn't the same after we.. spent the night together." I mumbled as I looked at Ping who pressed his lips making a popping sound.
"well, you can talk to him.. you know? find out what's wrong with him and be honest with him." Ping replied, I was a coward for once.
our contract will end in a couple of months yet the marriage isn't going much well and I wanted to be with him for a much longer period.
"he.. do you know anything about Pon? his problems or what?" I asked while I looked at Ping who looked at the side and pressed his lips.
he sat on the couch that was in front of me, he was also silent, he fell silent, I knew everyone was hiding secrets from me, I hated it a lot.
what the hell is that secret? I needed to get to the bottom of this..
"ping? hello?" I called him as he hummed, he wasn't answering my questions and avoiding them a lot.
"he's your wife, you should know what's going on with him." he said, reality struck me again.
I needed to talk to Pon.
as I was diving myself in a pool filled with documents, paperworks and contracts from other companies, individuals and clients I sensed that Pon was coming inside.
I quickly prepared myself and coughed, "ehem ehem.." I softly coughed as Pon opened the door slowly as he held onto his stomach.
he's having diarrhea again?
"Pon, I wanted to talk to you about something, nothing related to work but.. as a husband and wife." I said as he sat down on his chair and nodded.
"What is it?" he asked as I got up from my chair and fixed my suit walking around the room.
"well I wanted to ask if you were hiding something from me? maybe a secret or something you don't want me to find out?" I asked seriously.
I glared at him, his eyes looked at me with fear and he was really hiding something from me ..
"sir.. i-i.." he stuttered, I walked towards him, as he tried to avoid me, I quickly caught his chair and locked him in my grip.
"sir.. I'm not hiding anything!" he lied, I knew he did, I could sense it, his voice was trembling while his body trembled as well.
"what is it? are you gonna tell me or not?" I threatened him, he took a deep breath before slowly pushing me away gently.
"i need to tell you something." he said.
I waited patiently for his answer or what he was about to say, my heart was pounding and racing really fast as I waited impatiently.
"i would like to cancel the contract and collect the half of the money you offered me." he said murmuring.
my heart broke into small pieces, he's leaving me? he's no different to other gold-diggers.
"you're no different to gold diggers.. marrying me." I said coldly as I slowly walked away when he spoke up.
"our marriage was just to be beneficial to each other, I got to marry you for almost a year and I can finally pay that deathly death and you finally told your mother you're married and she isn't bothering you anymore, if she ever asks, I'll just play along." he said.
I realized, something was the matter with me.. not him I wanted him all to myself, as a wife, not thinking about the deal.
"well, in that case, let's just get a divorce and I'll pay you the remaining balances, go pay your bills and just stay as a secretary." I mumbled as I walked back to my desk.
he fell silent and then he suddenly talked.
"Sir, I would suggest you to find a new secretary, I would like to resign from my job to take a break with work." he said.
my heart.. it ached.. for the first time, not because of problems with the company or with family but with.. my wife who's divorcing me.
