“I’m going to the Trade and Commerce Bureau. I heard there’s been some progress, so I wanted to take a look.”

“What progress?” Lu Xuanran asked nervously.

“I don’t know either. It wasn’t clear on the phone. I’ll only know when I’m there.”

“I’ll go with you,” Lu Xuanran said anxiously.

Lu Manman narrowed her eyes and appeared calm. “No need. Don’t disrupt your work.”

With that, she strode off.

Lu Xuanran gritted his teeth as he looked at her.

He hurried back to his office and called Wen Yun anxiously.

The call went through. “Xuanran, didn’t I say not to call me so often?”

“Wen Yun, Lu Manman said that there’s been some news from the Trade and Commerce Bureau.”

“She’s lying to you. I have people watching over it. There’s no real progress.”

“Really?”

“Don’t call me. We’ll talk after the limelight is over.”

“Alright.”

Lu Xuanran hung up.
