Chapter 127
Love After Divorce
Chapter 127:
The little boy snorted and continued speaking in an arrogant tone, pointing at the robot. âMy dad bought this toy for me!
The more expensive, the better! He bought me so many toys⦠I saw him pay with a cheque!â
Stella was speechless. When had Adrian learned what a cheque was? She had never taught him that.
Could it be that when Tristan bought the toys, he paid with a cheque, and thatâs how her son knew?
But waitâwhat did Adrian just say? He called Tristan âDad.â When had Tristan become his father?
Stella was about to stop him, but when she saw RK standing nearby with Alia, she decided against it.
RK had already been suspicious of Adrianâs identity, so maybe this was an opportunity to make him think Adrian had a father. It would add to the illusion and keep him from digging further.
For a moment, the scene felt like a battle of pride between the kids. The adults stood by, awkwardly watching the incident caused by a robot.
After saying that, Adrian puffed up his chest, proud of himself, and glared at Alia. âHmph!â
Alia, not one to back down, huffed in response. âMy daddy is also very rich! Heâs going to buy me more toys than you have.
Iâm sure I have more toys than you!â she declared before storming off, muttering to herself, âAnyway, my daddy must have bought more toys than your dad!â
After Alia left, the scene calmed down a bit. But Adrian was still fuming, staring at her retreating figure.
Stella bent down to comfort him, âAdrian, donât you already have plenty of toys? Why are you still angry?â
Adrian pouted, clearly upset. âI have to tell Uncle Tristan later. Heâll buy me more interesting toys than her daddy ever could. Uncle Tristan will help me!â
Stella sighed. Adrian seemed so set on proving he had someone who cared for him as much as a father would.

She felt a pang of guilt. Adrian didnât have a father, and no matter how much love she gave him, she knew he longed for a complete family.
She had always done her best to give him all the maternal love she could, but a fatherâs presence was something she couldnât replace.
Still pouting, Adrian muttered, âWhatâs so great about having a father anyway? Uncle Tristan is just as good to me!â
Stella, watching him, could see the longing in her sonâs eyes. It wasnât just about the toys or the competition with Aliaâit was about the absence of a father figure.
Gently, she kissed Adrianâs soft cheek and said, âAdrian, go to school now. Iâll ask Uncle Tristan to come and play with you later.â
Stella wasnât sure if she should have promised that, but for now, it seemed like the only way to calm him down. Adrianâs face lit up immediately. âReally? You promise?â
âYes, I promise,â she lied, knowing it was just to make him happy in the moment.
Adrianâs mood brightened instantly, and the conflict with Alia seemed to vanish.
âTell Uncle Tristan that I miss him!â he said cheerfully, holding his robot in one hand and Harryâs hand in the other as he made his way to school.
As the two boys walked off together, Harry couldnât help but ask, âAdrian, when did you get a father? Didnât you tell me before that you only have a mom and no dad?â
Harry and Adrian were close friends, and Adrian often confided in him.
They shared many of their little worries, and Harry was the only one who knew Adrian didnât have a father. Adrian had made him promise not to tell anyone.
Adrian looked at Harry and sighed like an old man. âI was just pretending. Darling hasnât found a father for me yet. Iâm so anxious!â
