Chapter 25
Love After Divorce
Chapter 25:.
Adrian shuffled his little feet in bunny slippers and approached Stella. As he approached, he asked her, âHoneyâ¦. What are you doing with my phone?â
Then, he stood on his tiptoes to see if she had discovered anything. Sure enough, he saw Stella looking at the pictures he had taken of the guy sitting in his car. In an instant, Stella deleted all the photos from her phone.
âHoney, why did you delete my pictures?â
Adrian almost yelled at Stella, his little face full of unhappiness.
Stella, undeterred by his displeasure, handed the phone back to him and told him firmly, âFrom now on, you are not allowed to secretly take pictures of anyone.â
Adrian held the phone tightly and protested, âHoney, how can you say that? I was thinking about you. I had to check what kind of man this guy was. Is he handsome or not? If heâs not handsome, I donât want himâ¦.
Otherwise, heâll ruin his descendants. But now Iâm not worried because that guy is quite handsome. In the future, if you and the guy have a son, he must be quite handsomeâ¦â
Stella was speechless as she held her head in her hands.
âWas this brat indirectly praising himself?â
Stella thought to herself.
Emily, who was passing by the door, heard his words and could not contain her laughter. She walked in and mocked him in a âseriousâ tone.
He pinched her chubby cheeks and said, âYes, our Adrian is right. If your mother and that guy have a son in the future, heâll be as handsome as you!â.
âWhat nonsense are you spouting?â retorted Stella.
Her son knew nothing and was saying all this out of innocence. But she⦠she was doing it on purpose, wasnât she?
Adrian, oblivious to the adult world, merely pouted and said proudly, âBut he wonât be cuter than me.â Stella gently smacked him upside the head, but decided to remain silent.

Adrian followed Stella, clutching his cell phone tightly as they made their way to the bedroom.
With a smile on her chubby face, she asked, âHoney, does great-grandma want to introduce you to that guy? Is he going to be a stepfather?â
âWhat stepfather? Heâs your biological father, okay?â Stella thought in her heart.
But as he looked at Adrian, he felt he had a good impression of this man. Because every time someone mentioned him, Adrian turned into a curious baby, eager to know more about him.
Maybe it was because they shared a blood connection? People often say that blood is thicker than waterâ¦.
Stella looked at his chubby face, unsure how to respond. She gently caressed his little face with her hands, squatted down in front of him and asked, âHoney, do you want a father that badly?â
Adrian responded without hesitation. But then, noticing Stellaâs serious expression, he quickly changed his answer, âNo. If you donât like it and want to stay single, I donât care. When I grow up, Iâll support you.â
For Adrian, in his life, Stella always came first in everything. As long as Stella didnât like something, he wouldnât like it either.
Just like now, if she didnât want that guy to be her stepfather, he didnât want him to be her stepfather either.
Anyway, all he wanted was for his darling to be happy. Stella pulled him into her arms and hugged him tightly. She knew that since she still couldnât let go of the past, she wasnât ready for a new relationship.
And because of her, Adrian had to bear the consequences, even though he was only five years old.
She held his cheeks and kissed him.
Because of her emotions and struggles, she ignored Adrianâs feelings that she needed a father in her life. Just because he was so sensible and obedient he never mentioned it in front of her.
However, what child in the world does not long for a father? What child would not want to experience the love of a father in his life?
As for Adrian, he had never experienced parental love since he was born. But he always pretended in front of her that he didnât care.
The more Stella thought about it, the guiltier she felt about Adrian.
She hugged him even tighter and whispered, âMom will find you a father later.â
âI donât want a father who doesnât love Darling more than me,â
Adrian said earnestly.
At the same time, Stella also thought in her heart, âI donât want a man who doesnât love Adrian that much either.â
When Adrian fell asleep, Stella picked up the phone to call her grandmother to see if she was asleep, but saw that there was a message.
It was David Richardâs.
He wanted me to come for lunch that weekend.
Stella could not remember the last time she had visited the Richard family. After marrying RK, she had not visited the Richard family again. Even after getting divorced, she didnât plan to go there.
Although David Richard was his closest relative.
But since he had remarried and brought his new wife and daughter home, it felt more like visiting someone elseâs house.
Stella started to type a message to decline the invitation when David called her.
When he answered, his voice rang through the phone, âStella, itâs been so long since youâve been home. Come back and eat. I miss you.â
Davidâs helpless voice came through the other end. âI know youâve been having problems with Sophia, but youâre both my daughters and I donât want to see you like this.â
âItâs not that he hasnât seen it. Itâs just that he doesnât want to acknowledge it,â Stella thought.
Still, she didnât want to embarrass him because, no matter what, he was still her father.
âDad, if you want to see me, letâs meet somewhere else.
As for Richardâs family home⦠I donât want to go.â In the past, when she saw her father taking care of another woman and her daughter in front of her, she felt she didnât belong there.
âWhat are you saying? Never mind, itâs your house, canât you come and see me and have something to eat?â. Davidâs voice grew angry.
In the end, he agreed. What else could he do? After all, he was still her father?
The next day, before Stella left, Adrian was still with her. When he saw her pick out the clothes she was going to wear, the little boy assumed she was going out with that guy. So he decided to help her choose.
After searching for a while, she finally found a dark blue knee-length dress with a silver belt around the waist in her closet and held it out to her.
âHoney, put this on.â Stella had already picked out a simple white shirt and jeans and decided to put them on. She looked at Adrian and said, âNo way! How can you wear that?â
Adrian looked at the clothes in his hand and shook his head. âHoney, you canât wear something like that on a date. That guy wouldnât like it.â
âHuh?â
Stella looked at him in surpriseâ¦
Who said I was going on a date? Whatâs more, who told her she was going on a date with that man?
âAdrian, Iâm just going home for lunch, not a date,â Stella explained to him.
Adrian nodded, only half understanding. He had overheard his Darling and his grandmother talking about his older sister at home and how good she was with his Darling.
Anyway, if she was good, why did she choose to live away with him?
He must have had a bad relationship with his sister.
Hearing this, Adrian put the dress in her hands and said, âMy dear, then you must wear this. You canât look weak in front of them.â
âAnd if you want, I can go with you to protect you.â
âNo, you donât have to come. Stay home and wait for me to come back.â
If she took him with her, she didnât know what kind of screw-up would happenâ¦. Adrian just nodded.
After Adrianâs insistence, Stella decided to wear the blue dress.
When she arrived at the Richard family home, it was her father, David Richard, who opened the door for her. He looked at her and said, âStella, youâre here. Come in and sit down.
But before she could enter, a sharp voice interrupted her, âDidnât I tell you not to let her come back? Why did you invite her?â It was Sophia, coming down the stairs.
âDonât say that,â
David rebuked. âWhy shouldnât he come? His last name is Ricardo, too, and this is his house.â
âHmph.â Sophia walked over and sat down next to Isabella on the couch.
Isabella was Sophiaâs mother. After the death of Stellaâs mother, David had remarried and welcomed Isabella and her entire family into his home.
There was also one moreâ¦
Isabella also had a child with her ex-husband.
âStella, come in and sit down. Dadâs here,â David urged.
In any case, Stella had long since become accustomed to such scenes with the mother-daughter pair. More importantly, since Isabella did not like her identity, she often helped Sophia bully herâ¦.
However, if Isabellaâs son saw this, he would help Stella.
âYou⦠Why are you dressed up today, are you trying to seduce my brother?â
After saying this, Sophia directed a meaningful glance at the person sitting across the room.
Stella didnât need to turn her head to know who it was. From the moment she entered the Richard family home, she could feel someoneâs gaze on her.
Tristan Davis was sitting on a single sofa on the other side. He was wearing simple, casual clothes: a white T-shirt and gray slacks. But he still looked very handsome.
Before the age of 19, Stella lived in this house with the help of this man. But at the age of 19â¦
But since marrying RK, Tristan left the country, went abroad and never came back. When Tristan found out that Stella had divorced RK, he went back to look for her, but she was nowhere to be found.
It had been nine years since they last saw each otherâ¦. Tristan was only five years older than her, and they were like brother and sister. But now, after so many years apartâ¦
Tristan had become calmer and more mature. When he saw her again, Tristan was like a different person. Tristan looked away from Stella without saying a word.
They said nothingâ¦
In the past, whenever Sophia said something bad about her, Tristan was the first to defend her, always fighting on her behalf.
Since he was a child, he had always protected Stella and had stayed by her side so that she would not feel uncomfortable all day long because of some peopleâs unpleasant words. Therefore, Tristan had never let Stella get hurtâ¦.
Seeing this, Sophia smiled more proudly and teased, âStella, look, even Tristan doesnât seem happy to see you.
Why did you bother to come back?â
âSophia, shut up,â
David said, with obvious anger. They were both his daughters and he didnât want to see either of them hurt. âOther sisters have such a good relationship. I donât understand why you two donât get along.
David says, âCall Rene to see if he has time to come home for dinner today. The whole family is here, tell him to join us.â
