Chapter 685
Love After Divorce
Chapter 685:
RK had wanted to take Stella to the banquet, but thinking about her physical condition, he decided it would be best not to take her. After all, the event would end late and Stella, who usually slept early, would probably not be able to enjoy the evening.
In the end, he decided to take Miriam with him, since she was familiar with the details of the cooperation to be discussed at the party.
Meanwhile, Ruben and Emily chatted for quite a while. Emily agreed with Rubenâs decision to leave the entertainment industry. For her, the important thing was that Ruben was happy, and she would be happy too. She didnât want him to keep doing something that didnât satisfy him.
After some more thought, Ruben finally decided to leave the entertainment industry. After all, in a month he would be marrying Emily. In the past, he had been in that world just for fun. His family had never had financial problems, so he wasnât in it for the money.
Now, however, his priority was to be with Emily. If he kept working in entertainment, he wouldnât have time for her.
Working at the RK Group would allow him to have a fixed schedule, and, besides, Emily worked there, too. He could arrange for Emily to be his secretary, so they could be together every day.
Ruben communicated his decision to RK, who said nothing about it, but simply ordered a banquet to be arranged for Ruben.
âDonât wait for me. Iâll be back as soon as possible. Be sure to rest early,â RK told Stella, giving her a kiss on the forehead before leaving.
Stella nodded, wishing him a safe return.
Ruben, for his part, had decided not to attend the banquet. Although he had worked for the company in the past, most people still didnât know him outside the circle. He didnât feel it necessary to show up.
After leaving, RK went to the party with Miriam.
Meanwhile, Adrian woke up and ran into Seventeen. Stella didnât know what they were doing, but she sensed that they were training.

Adrian, after not having practiced for a long time, could not stand the intensive training from before.
âUncle Seventeen, I canât take it anymore. Iâm going to rest,â Adrian said, waving to Seventeen.
He lay down on the ground, too tired to continue.
Seventeen didnât object. He walked over to him and sat down nearby. The room was air conditioned, so there was no risk of Adrian getting cold.
âYou ran away from home and got caught?â asked Seventeen, worried. He had heard something from Ruben about Adrian, and his mind couldnât help but wonder if he was safe.
Adrian, hearing Seventeenâs words, immediately stood up and looked at him.
âWhat did I tell you?â Seventeen didnât answer, just glared at him.
âHehe, Iâm very strong. I didnât get hurt at all,â Adrian replied, knowing that Seventeen cared about him, even though he didnât want him to.
âThe watch is for you. I know youâre not hurt. Itâs not safe to climb down the dog hole,â Seventeen said, his tone more serious than usual. Adrian smiled, but something in his words left him with a funny feeling.
âItâs too far away. Even if you know, you wonât be able to get there in time. Besides, Iâm fine. Iâve come out of the dog hole,â Adrian forced a smile, remembering that few people knew what had happened. RK and Stella wouldnât tell.
âAs long as you push, someone will come to help you,â Seventeen said, confident. Although he didnât know why he felt that way, he was sure someone would come to help Adrian.
âWhat do you remember?â Adrian asked, looking at Seventeen seriously. He looked like he wanted to see past his friendâs words.
âNothing,â Seventeen replied, shaking his head. Although he couldnât remember the details, something in his subconscious told him that everything would work out if he pressed the button.
âOkay,â Adrian said, believing Seventeen without hesitation.
The night was progressing and RK still hadnât returned. Stella, although she felt very sleepy, couldnât fall asleep without him. She was used to having RK by her side, and now she found it difficult to sleep alone.
She sat up in bed, turned on the bedside light and picked up a book. She started flipping through it without really reading, her mind distracted by RKâs absence.
On the other hand, RK was immersed in the social activities of the banquet. The smile he usually flashed at Stella and Adrian had faded, replaced by a serious, cold expression.
Miriam watched RK, wondering if his earlier smile was sincere or a facade.
However, at the thought of that smile only appearing in front of Stella, Miriam felt some relief.
âPresident Kingston, itâs been a long time since we last met, but youâre still as handsome as ever,â said a man who approached. RK recognized this man as an old enemy, although he did not consider them mortal enemies.
âMr. Brown, I havenât seen you in a long time either,â RK replied, raising his glass and taking a sip of red wine .
