Chapter 14: At least one person is happy

Xavier's P.O.V.

You know, there are times in life when you see no end and no beginning, honestly I  don't even play an active role in my life anymore shit just happen and I'm like 'oh this is what we are doing now? Okay.'

I had a plan for my life. Build my business empire, keep my family in check, and maybe—just maybe—live a bachelor's life without unnecessary complications. But instead? Here I am, a few hours away from getting married to a girl I've met once.

One. Damn. Time.

Make it make sense.

I don't know what my parents were thinking. If it were some groundbreaking business deal, sure, I'd understand. But nope. This arrangement doesn't even benefit our company—it just throws me into a marriage I never signed up for.

But it's too late to turn back now.

Of course it's too late to turn back i will be married few hours from now.

You should be grateful that they picked somebody so beautiful and cute.

Oh, right. Because that matters more than the fact that I'm basically handing over half my net worth on a silver platter. What if she's just here to cash in, file for divorce, and walk away with a fat check?

Not everyone wants your awfully smelling paper you know. I can't wait to see the wedding gown she picked.

Or the one mum picked, mum wouldn't have let her go without picking something satisfying even after I said simple. I don't care what she wears it can even be a white night gown. Who cares?

Say whatever you want but I will be there to watch you drool over her when you see her.

I turned off the shower and wrapped a towel around my waist.

I was about to open the door and walks out when I heard giggling and bed squeaking.

Oh, hell no.

I slowly opens the door the see a little girl probably 4 or 5

The last time you guessed someone's age it was a disaster.

That wasn't my fault, okay.

Yes, it was mine.

I just decided to shut it out, cause  how can I be talking to myself.

There, right in the middle of my bed, was a tiny human—probably four or five years old—jumping like it was her personal trampoline.

I just stood there staring at her I actually find the little girl cute, she is jumping in my bed and giggling saying incoherent words.

At least one person is happy

I walked up to her to stop her from breaking my bed when she sat on the bed catching her breath. When she saw me her eyes widened and she tried to run when I caught her arm and sat her on the bed.

"I-i- I'm really really sorry, mum said i could wonder around then I saw the door was a little tiny bit opened so I entered. I swear i didn't steal any thing I swear." I tried to call her down but it looks like she's not done.

"I swear I didn't steal anything but can I take the bed it soo soft and bouncy but then where will you sleep huh can I just jump on it one last time." She looks at me With a pleading eye i was so tempted to say no but there has to be something like humanity.

I placed her in the middle of the bed asking her to continue while I go dress up.

"Okay That's enough jumping for today princess,"i carried her off the bed and placed her on my lap. "what's your name."

She sat up straight, beaming, seem to have become more comfortable with me around. "Reha! But just call me... hmmmm... actually, I don't know. Everyone calls me Reha. Except Dad—he calls me Chipmunk."

She scrunched her nose. "I once asked Mum why she named me Reha, and she was like 'Don't disturb me'. Like, seriously? She disturbed my life when she gave me a name that can't be nicknamed!"

I chuckled. This kid was something else.

"So just call me Reha. But I also like Princess—Dad calls me his princess."

"Alright princess where's your mum."

"She's with aunt mira, dad and one other woman that introduced herself as hmmmm, peace no peel n-." she looked cute trying to rack her head.

"You mean pearl" I chuckled a bit

"Noo hmmmmm pe-pearl that's it pearl, I finally remembered."

"That what I said"

"Go look for your answers big uncle don't copy mine."

She patted my chest as she made herself comfortable in my arms like a damm queen.

"Do you know her" she said after a short silence.

"Hmmm she's my mother."

"Oh oka- wait what! but mum said she is aunt Mira husban- does that me you are the-."

"Groom, yes."

Suddenly she started trashing in my arms so I dropped her

She dramatically placed her hands on her hips, glaring at me like I just ruined her entire existence.

"I'M SO ANGRY AT YOU!" she declared

"...For what?"

"Mum said it's because of you aunt Mira won't be able to play with me today, because she's getting married to you, and I can't follow her to her house cause mum said she going to be living with you, and you won't allow me to come with you." She poked me after ever sentence she said that ended with 'you'.

"Calm down would you, how old are you."

She folded her arm around her chest before answering.

"I'm 7."she said and dramatically turned her back at me to show she's angry.

I hate children so much why will such a small vessel contain so much trouble.

"Alright I'm sorry your aunt is not able to play with you today-."

"Because of you"

"Because of me but I never said you can't come with us to my place."

"But mum said you guys would be too busy by the night time." I rolled my eyes

"Do you think your aunt will be too busy to play with you."

"Yes you're right I'm just too amazing."

I chuckled

"Okay, yeah, whatever, let go downstairs the ceremony is about to start."

"I can't wait for the cake part."

"I can wait for all this shit to be over

." I muttered making sure she didn't here me.

Third person's P.O.V

As they went down the stairs definitely not in silence as reha couldn't stop talking.

"And that how I got a pet named lily."

Xavier didn't know what to say to that so just nodded

"You know you're really hot." She said while looking at him making him choke on his saliva.

"How di-."

"My Dad calls my mum hot most of the time at first i didn't know the meaning." Xavier looked at her in bewilderment.

"But I figured it out, I'm a smart one." she added with a shrugged.

They got the the bottom stairs to sees Maya and Williams already there, Reha ran to her mother and tugged her down to knee to her height.

"Mum, mum guess what, you won't believe it."

Reha ran to Maya, tugging on her sleeve. "Uncle Xav said I can come with them!"

Maya's face twitched. Abort mission. ABORT MISSION.

Maya definitely not liking the idea of Xavier and Mira been interrupted, she and pearl have been planning it all day.

"No baby you can't go you have-."

"Why can't I go, you said it's because of him now he wants me to come why can't I go." She said pointing at Xavier

"No Reha listen to me you can't go b-."

"Why, why can't i-."She whined but got interrupted.

"Listen to me young lady" Maya said in a stern voice making reha shiver but she didn't show it

'What a 7 year old girl'

Xavier thought

"No you listen to me old woman." She said in the same stern voice and before she realized what she said she's already running for her dear life her mum chasing after her.

"Come back here you little rascal."

"Mamma I'm sorry."

"Once I get my hands on you I'll teach you the true definition of manners."

"I'm sorry mamma I'm so sorry I Won't  do it again."

Reha still running, jumped on her father's back for protection and all Williams can do was laugh.

"What were you saying wifey 'my babies are not troubles.' " He said using the same tone she use when she said it while reha who was enjoying the show was just giggling.

"This one is a rascal but of courses I  can't blame her she has your blood." she glared at both of them.

"You always blame me for everything but are right this time-."

I'm always right" she said in a duh tone.

"She's the true blood of her father." He said with a proud smile on his face making reha giggle the more.

"You are totally unbelievable, i can't stand you."

"You love me that way."

"No I don't."

"Awww that not what you were saying last night when you were actually not able to stand." He whispers enough for every one to hear.

Maya slapped his chest as they continued bickering with reha giggling, oblivious that  Xavier is still watching them what a smile on his face

'Maybe i do want a family of my own.'

He thought the smile not leaving his face.
