Chapter 22

Lovely Argument

The Unfinished Tales of Love ( Part 2 )

Shivika's gaze fell on his chest, at the spot where the heart is, and for a moment, her heart forgot to beat.

Hardik had tattooed Shivika's name on his chest.

Seeing this, Shivika's eyes welled up with tears. She gently touched her name on Hardik's chest, and Hardik closed his eyes in contentment.

With a heavy voice, Shivika said, "Why did you do this?"

Hearing Shivika, Hardik opened his eyes but didn't say anything. He just pulled Shivika into his arms, drawing her closer.

Looking into Shivika's eyes, he continued, "You don't need to do all this to show your love, Hardik. I know you love me a lot."

"I know that you know, but..." Hardik trailed off.

Shivika asked, "But what?"

Hardik gave her a small kiss on her lips and said, "Because you have a right over me, not just on my heart; I want your name to be on my body too."

Hearing this, Shivika became emotional and hugged Hardik tightly.

After a while, Hardik asked, "Now won't you give me a return gift?"

Shivika pulled away and looked at him, saying, "Do you want me to get a tattoo like that too?" Hardik shook his head. He said, "I don't want to see you in pain as a gift from you; I want peace for myself."

Hearing Hardik, Shivika gazed into his eyes for a couple of moments and then held his face with her hand and kissed him on the lips. Hardik tightened his grip on her waist.

After a while, both returned to the hall. At that moment, two spotlights appeared on the stairs, and there stood Rohit, Ruhi, Omkar, and Riya, holding hands. Seeing the four of them, everyone smiled. When they came down, Bharti, Shobha, Archana, and Surekha showered them with blessings, saying, "You four look so adorable."

Then they mingled with the guests. After chatting for a while, Rohit smiled at someone who wasn’t them, and then both left.

At that moment, the music started, and Rohit and Omkar came to the center and began dancing.

Mahi Ve, Mahi Ve

That's the way, Mahi Ve

(They went to Ruhi and Riya, touched their earrings and bangles, and danced.)

Tere Maathe Jhumar Damke

Tere Kanno Baali Chamke Hai Re

Maahi Ve

Tere Haatho Kangana Khanke

Tere Pairo Payal Chance Hai Re

Maahi Ve

(They brought them to the center, and the four danced.)

Naino Se Bole Rabba Rabba

Mann Mein Dole Rabba Rabba

Amrut Ghole Rabba Rabba

Tu Soniye

Jind Maahi Ve

Soni Soni Aaja Maahi Ve

Everybody Sing

Soni Soni Aaja Maahi Ve

(x2)

That's The Way Maahi Ve

O Tere Aankhen Kali Kali

Tera Gora Gora Mukhdha Hai Re

Maahi Ve

Tere Rangat Jaise Sona

Tu Chaand Ka Tukda Hai Re

Tere Gaal Gulabi Rabba Rabba

Chal Sharabi Rabba Rabba

Dil Ki Kharabi Rabba Rabba

Tu Soniye

Jind Maahi Ve

Soni Soni Aaja Maahi Ve

Everybody Sing

Soni Soni Aaja Maahi Ve

(x2)

(Ruhi and Riya then danced along with the other girls.)

Barse Rangini Kaliyan Hai Mehki Bhini Bhini

Baje Mann Mein Halke Halke Shehnaiya Re

Jitne Hai Tare Aanchal Mein Aa Gaya Sare

Dil Ne Jaise Hi Li Angadayee Re

Tu Jo Aayee Sajhke Mehndi Rajke

Chal Bajke Oh Soniye

Dil Kit No Ka Khaye Dhajke Oh Soniye

Jind Maahi Ve

Soni Soni Aaja Maahi Ve

Everybody Sing

Soni Soni Aaja Maahi Ve

(x2)

(Then Shobha and Bharti got emotional, hugged Riya and Ruhi, and sang.)

Chanhda Meri Chanda Tujhe Kaise Mein Yeh Samjhaoon

Mujhe Lagti Hai Tu Kitni Pyaari Re

Khusiyan Jitni Hai Sab Jitni Hai Sab Dhoondh Ke Laoon

Teri Doli Ke Sang Kar Do Sari Re

Teri Doli Ke Sang Kar Do Sari Re

(Seeing them emotional, Omkar held Shobha, Rohit held Bharti, Vikram brought Archana, Praveen brought Alka, Hardik brought Surekha, and Shivaay brought Shalini, and they all began dancing with their mothers.)

Tu Jo Aayee Sajhke Mehndi Rajke

Chal Bajke Oh Soniye

Dil Kit No Ka Khaye Dhajke Oh Soniye

Jind Maahi Ve

Soni Soni Aaja Maahi Ve

Everybody Sing

Soni Soni Aaja Maahi Ve

And just like that, amidst laughter and fun, the musical evening passed.

The next day,

Today was the wedding, and the house was bustling with activity. Omkar was to bring the wedding procession from his house to the wedding venue, so Preeti and Anokhi had already gone to Omkar's house, and Shivika was with them.

Presidential Room

Shobha placed a red dupatta on Riya’s head, took some kajal from her own eyes, and applied it behind Riya's ear, saying with teary eyes, "You look so beautiful. It’s hard to believe my Riya has grown up so much that she's getting married."

Riya was wearing a cream-colored lehenga paired with a red dupatta, and she looked absolutely stunning.

Riya stood up and said to Shobha, "Maa, if you get emotional, I’ll start crying too." Just then, Sam hurriedly said, "No, absolutely not! You are not allowed to cry. Look, I’ve worked really hard to get you two brides ready, so don’t ruin my efforts with your tears."

Sam said and then, while heading out of the room, added, "Alright ladies, I’m off to Ruhi’s room now, just in case she needs me."

He left. When he reached Ruhi’s room, he saw her happily munching on a burger. Sam's eyes widened in shock. He almost shouted, "Ruhi! What are you doing? You're eating a burger!"

Ruhi was wearing a maroon-colored lehenga with silver embroidery, and her dupatta was also a light silver color.

Ruhi quickly put the burger down and, brushing off her hands, said, "Who said I was eating a burger?"

Sam pointed to his eyes and said, "I can see you with my own eyes!"

Ruhi laughed and said, "What can I do? I was starving. I don't know when the wedding procession will arrive or how long the ceremony will last. I can't stay hungry until then."

Sam, annoyed, said, "What about your lipstick? Don’t you realize it’ll mess up your makeup?"

Ruhi smiled and said, "So what if my lipstick gets messed up? Anokhi’s Sam Bhaiya is here, the best makeup artist. He’ll fix it."

Ruhi said this, and Sam pouted as he started fixing her makeup.

Meanwhile, in another room at the hotel, Rohit was ready. He was wearing a silver sherwani and had been pacing back and forth for a long time. Praveen, Rishabh, Shivaay, Vikram, and Hardik were all watching him. When Shivaay grew annoyed from watching him, he made Rohit sit on the sofa and said, "Have you gone mad? Brides get nervous before the wedding, not you. Why are you acting like a lunatic?"

Rohit, irritated, said, "What should I do? I’ll leave the hotel and then enter the hotel again with the wedding procession. That doesn’t make sense."

Shivaay laughed and said, "Oh hello! You don’t have an option. You have to do it that way. What do you expect? That the whole family leaves your sister here and goes home to bring the wedding procession?"

Shivaay said, and Rohit fell silent.

Then, annoyed, he said, "Omkar is lucky. He's bringing the wedding procession straight from home, and Bhabhi also went with him. Won't they dance at my wedding procession? That’s not fair. It’s her devar’s wedding."

Hearing Rohit, everyone smacked their foreheads. Shivaay, annoyed, said, "Someone please explain to this crazy man! Listen, if I lose my patience, I’ll turn this groom into a beggar."

Everyone laughed at Shivaay's comment. Vikram stood up, lightly tapped Rohit on the head, and said, "Seriously, the excitement of the wedding has gone to your head, so you’ve forgotten that both your and Omkar’s processions are arriving together here. Don’t overdo it, you lunatic!"

"By the way, Vikram, you’d better check yourself. People can get overly excited too. Who knows, you might do something like this," Praveen said with a laugh, causing Vikram to pout.

Omkar's Apartment

Anokhi was slightly lifting her lehenga and walking around, packing things, and called out loudly, "Hey, is everything done or not? How much longer will it take? Mumma, we’re going to be late! Om Bhaiya, hurry up. You can do your touch-up in the hotel room! You look so handsome!"

Just then, Omkar came out of his room. He was wearing a red sherwani. Anokhi’s eyes widened in happiness as she exclaimed, "Wow, Bhaiya, you look so handsome, really!"

Hearing this, Omkar smiled.

Just then, Archana came out of the kitchen holding dried chilies in her hand and stood in front of Omkar, saying, "Let me ward off the evil eye first, then step out of the house. Come on, Anu and Preeti, Shivika beta, you both come too."

Upon her calling, Preeti and Shivika came out of the other room. Preeti was wearing a grey lehenga, and Shivika had on a purple one.

Archana gestured for Shivika, Preeti, and Anokhi to come forward. The three of them stood beside Omkar.

After warding off the evil eye from all four of them, they went downstairs. As soon as they reached the bottom, Anokhi noticed that three or four cars were parked in front, and leaning against one of them was Rishabh with his arms crossed. Seeing him, Anokhi’s steps halted.

Rishabh was wearing a navy blue sherwani, adorned with mirror work, in which he looked very handsome. His sherwani matched Anokhi’s lehenga, as her lehenga was also navy blue with mirror work.

When Rishabh saw Anokhi, his gaze froze on her, and he took off his sunglasses, admiring her lovingly. He noticed that with one hand, Anokhi was managing her lehenga, and with the other, she was holding some belongings.

Rishabh quickly signaled the guard, who took the items from everyone’s hands and placed them in the car. Rishabh approached and touched the feet of Dai Ma and Archana.

Dai Ma asked, "beta, you here?"

"Yes, Dai Ma, I've come to take you all," he said, to which Preeti, smiling, teased, "All of us, or just Anokhi?"

Rishabh laughed and replied, "If I had come only for her, one car would have been enough, I wouldn’t have brought so many."

Everyone laughed at his words, and then they got into the car and headed to the venue.

On the way, he had called everyone, and just as planned, Omkar and Rohit's wedding procession danced all the way to the hotel.

Everyone was lost in their fun, dancing. When they reached the hotel, something happened that had never happened before – the brides themselves joined the procession and danced!

Riya, with her face covered by a veil, was dancing in her brother's procession, and Ruhi in Omkar's. Anokhi, seeing her brother's and brother-in-law's procession, made everyone dance with joy, except for Rishabh. He just stood there quietly, enjoying watching Anokhi dancing and laughing.

Then everyone came inside, and Riya and Ruhi went back to their rooms.

Ruhi and Riya both went to their rooms, and Omkar and Rohit sat at the mandap. The priest began the wedding rituals. After their prayers were completed, the priest asked for the brides to be called, so Shivika, Preeti, and Anokhi went to get Riya and Ruhi.

The three of them brought the brides through the back entrance to the main entrance, when suddenly all the lights went out. Seeing all the lights off, everyone got a little worried. Dada ji said, "What happened to the lights? Rishabh, Praveen, check and talk to someone."

At that moment, the lights came back on. A spotlight appeared at the entrance. A dupatta which is filled with sparkling lights and under that Riya and Ruhi is standing, and Rishabh, Abhinav, Praveen, and Vikram were holding each corner of the dupatta . Among the stars like lights, Ruhi and Riya looked just like heavenly nymphs descending from the sky.

Even though their faces were covered with veils, everyone standing there could feel their beauty. Rohit and Omkar were in shock seeing their entry. They were just about to stand up when Surekha and Archana made them sit back, saying, "Have patience, they're coming to you."

Slowly, they walked to the mandap. When they reached the mandap, Rohit quickly said to Surekha, "Now I can help her up, right? If I don’t, I swear on diamonds, your son will seem like cheap metal, not a diamond."

Everyone burst into laughter at his comment. Ruhi, under her veil, laughed as well. Surekha said, "This boy will never change, go ahead, hold her hand."

Rohit immediately got up, and as soon as he did, Omkar followed, saying, "Now that he's got permission, I should have it too!" He went to Riya as well.

Their antics brought smiles to everyone's faces. Omkar and Rohit extended their hands, and Riya and Ruhi took them. The four of them came back to the mandap.

As soon as they reached the stage, Shivika and Anokhi came forward with the garlands. The four exchanged garlands and then sat down. The wedding rituals resumed. The priest’s chants echoed once again.

Rohit softly said to Ruhi, "Why the veil? You came to the procession with it too. I want to see you, love."

Ruhi replied softly, "These are rituals, and you should know them, considering it's your own family. Now just sit quietly and stop acting, or I'll make sure you end up in the sacred fire."

On the other side, Riya told Omkar, "Listen carefully to the priest's words. If you make even one mistake after the wedding, the headline will be that a boxer saw stars in the middle of the day because of his wife."

Omkar smiled and said, "Well, I want you to show me stars, and heaven also, just that it should be at night, not during the day."

"Omkar!" Riya said, gritting her teeth. Hearing his comment, Riya's face turned red.

The wedding rituals slowly progressed. Omkar and Rohit put the mangalsutra around Ruhi's and Riya's necks, filled their hairline with sindoor, and took the seven vows. They promised to stay together in happiness and sorrow and vowed never to leave each other. They also pledged to respect each other in the relationship with love.

Abhinav and Shweta were sitting near the mandap, and Swati was sitting a little further away on a sofa with Shwet, enjoying snacks. Just then, Shivaay came and sat beside Swati and started eating a veg roll from her plate. Swati slapped his hand and angrily said, "What are you doing?"

"I'm eating, what else? And you, don’t eat too much, understand? You’ve just recovered," Shivaay said while continuing to eat. Swati glared at him.

Before she could say anything, Shwet piped up, "Yes, uncle, I told Madi maa too, but she didn’t listen, so now I have to help finish the food quickly."

"Oh, so that's how it is. Then I should eat more," Shivaay said and took another bite. Swati just watched as Shivaay and Shwet cleaned up the plate in a few seconds.

Meanwhile, something else was cooking up. Shivika had stolen Omkar's shoes, and Hardik was chasing after her.

Shivika scolded Hardik, "Why are you after me? Have you gone mad?" Hardik, still running behind her, said, "I’m just trying to catch the thief."

Shivika stopped by a table and, looking at Hardik, said, "I didn’t steal your shoes. Why are you after me? And you’re not even Omkar's brother to be guarding his shoes."

"I am his brother! Remember Raksha Bandhan? I got a rakhi tied by Anokhi, so Omkar is also my brother. And since you consider Riya your sister, you stole the shoes. Now, it’s my job to get the shoes back from Omkar’s sister-in-law," Hardik said, approaching her. Shivika, running to the other side of the table, replied, "Of all days, today you chose to fulfill your brotherly duty? And by that logic, isn't Rohit also your brother? Anokhi tied him a rakhi too, so go guard his shoes. Why are you stuck on these?"

"I don’t know about Rohit, but I care about these shoes because they were stolen by my future wife," Hardik said, getting closer again. Shivika, running to the other side of the table, responded, "You should be helping your future wife, not ruining her plan. That's not how it works."

They kept running around the table while talking. Suddenly, Hardik looked behind Shivika and said, "Oh, papa!"

Hearing Hardik, Shivika turned around, thinking Praful was standing there. But when she turned, no one was there. Hardik took this opportunity to grab Shivika from behind.

Shivika struggled, saying, "Hardik, this is cheating!"

"Everything is fair in love and war, my love," Hardik said, kissing her cheek and taking the shoes from her hand. Shivika pouted and glared at him.

She then thought for a moment and smiled, putting her arms around Hardik's neck, saying sweetly, "Hardik, we’re fighting over someone else's shoes. Look, we got time together because of these shoes. Don’t you think we should spend this time together?"

Hearing this, Hardik looked at her lovingly. He held her waist, looking into her eyes, and said, "You’re right, Shivika. Look, we’ve moved far from everyone while running around, alone and—"

Hardik stopped mid-sentence. Shivika, running her finger along his neck, asked, "And what?"

Feeling her touch, Hardik shivered, his eyes closing. In the next moment, he realized that Shivika’s hands were moving towards his. He quickly understood Shivika's trick. Opening his eyes, he leaned closer to her face and said, " And your tricks won't work on me, Shivika, so I’m leaving with my gift."

Saying that, Hardik gave her a quick kiss on the lips and ran off. Shivika stood there, finger on her lips, still in shock. After a couple of moments, she realized her plan had backfired. Yelling Hardik’s name, she ran after him.

They both ran back to where everyone was. By now, the wedding was over. Prafull stopped Shivika, saying, "Stop, where are you two running off to?"

"Papa, he ran away with the shoes!" Shivika complained to Prafull, pouting.

Hardik, showing off the shoes, teased her. Seeing this, Shivika got more annoyed. Omkar laughed and said, "Good job, Hardik. You saved my shoes."

Just then, Rohit looked around and noticed his shoes were missing too. He said, "But my shoes are missing! Who stole my shoes? Tell me, my own family is stealing, and no one guarded my shoes. Now my money is gone! Who took them?"

Hearing Rohit, everyone’s eyes turned to Anokhi. Seeing everyone looking at her, Anokhi looked at each face and then, showing up both hands, said, "Why are you looking at me? I don’t have the shoes, see!"

"Yeah, maybe you hid them somewhere – on a tree, under the soil, in a pot, behind a door. You could have hidden them anywhere! I swear on diamonds, do you ever run out of places to hide things?" Surekha said.

Anokhi pouted and replied, "I didn’t have so many hiding places, but you do, chachi ji. Next time, I’ll ask you for hiding spots."

Anokhi said this, and Surekha laughed while looking at her. Rohit said, "What are you discussing? Search, search for the shoes! Bhabi is very smart, who knows where she must have hidden them!"

Then teasing Rishabh, he added, "And bhai, look, Hardik fought with his wife... no, soon-to-be wife for the shoes. And you couldn't fight with your wife? You could have saved your brother's honor, put in some effort for my shoes. You’re the smartest one, aren't you?"

Rohit was requesting Rishabh, and everyone else was quietly laughing at his words. Meanwhile, Ruhi said, "How stingy are you! You can't even give a gift for the shoes? What kind of man did I marry?"

Hearing Ruhi, no one could control themselves anymore. Everyone laughed out loud, and Rohit's face fell. He made a sad expression and looked at Rishabh.

Rishabh responded, "Why should I make an effort when I already know where the shoes are? It won't even take me 2 minutes to get them, so why waste my time?"

"What!" Both Rohit and Anokhi exclaimed together, and Anokhi looked at him in surprise.
