Nina smirked. It hurt, so this wasnât a dream after all.
Nash was really massaging her feet. Noticing her expression, Nash thought he might have pressed too hard and instinctively asked, âDid I hurt you?
Nina shook her head. âNo, you didnât.â She paused, her nose slightly moist, and said, âI just didnât expect you to be like this.â
To her, his tenderness was surprising. Nash lifted his deep gaze, noticing her bright yet somewhat pitiful eyes, and he softly said, âIâm sorry you had to endure this.â
Nina shook her head and remained silent. She wasnât enduring anything. She just loved him but couldnât have him. As Nash rubbed her feet, the warmth of his touch eased Ninaâs discomfort. She focused on gazing at him, soaking in his tenderness while remaining clear-
headed.
Her eyes fell on his deep gaze, his prominent nose bridge, and then his rosy lips⦠At that moment, she felt overwhelmed with emotions, and finally, she couldnât resist calling out,
Nash.â At the sound of her voice, Nash lifted his head in confusion.
Nina gently wrapped her hands around his neck, closed her eyes, and kissed him. As her red lips pressed firmly against his, she summoned every ounce of her courage, embodying her love for him and the decade-long anticipation.
Nash was stunned for several seconds, his gaze growing even deeper. He wrapped his arm around her waist, deepening the kiss.
âMr. York, the shoes have been purchased,â Quincy hurried over, witnessing the scene, instantly frozen in embarrassment and confusion.
Nina felt guilty, hastily pushing Nash away, wiping off any traces from her lips, and turning her head aside. Only Nash remained with a displeased expression, looking at Quincy.
âI, I came at the wrong time,â Quincy stammered.
He wanted to leave, but Nina anxiously stopped him, âCome back, Quincy, whatâs the matter?â
Under Nashâs almost murderous gaze, Quincy replied, âMr. York was worried that Mrs. Yorkâs feet might hurt, so he asked me to buy flat shoes. Iâve already bought them.â
Feeling embarrassed now that Quincy knew her identity, Nina felt awkward. They used to be colleagues, so she wasnât used to this formality.
âBring them here,â Nash said coldly.
Receiving the command, Quincy quickly handed them over. Nash took the shoes and helped

Nina put them on.
It was at this moment that Nina realized how attentive Nash could be. He knew her feet were hurting without her having to say anything, understanding that she couldnât wear high heels
anymore.
Nash squatted down to change her shoes. In that moment, Nina felt like she was the most. important person to him.
âAlright,â Nash stood up.
Nina took a few steps, feeling surprisingly light but still had some concerns. âIs it okay to wear them like this?â
âAs long as youâre not suffering, any way is fine,â Nash replied. He didnât want her to endure any discomfort or hurt her own feet.
Nina felt a warm glow in her heart. For a moment, she thought that their interaction was quite pleasant; she felt happy and valued. But this thought only lasted for a few seconds. She followed Nash outside.
Nash led her to the dining area and insisted that she eat something. The auction was about to begin, and people were gradually arriving. Nina was afraid of being late, but Nash reassured her, saying, âTake your time eating. Thereâs no rush.â
Seeing him staying with her all the time, Nina knew it wasnât feasible for him to continue like this. She quickly said, âThen you go ahead. Iâll come over after I finish eating.â
âOkay,â Nash tousled her hair affectionately, instructed Quincy to accompany her, and left
alone.
Nina sat there eating a light meal, then glanced back at Quincy.
He politely asked, âMrs. York, would you like something to drink?â
