Chapter 378
The Imposter Bride (Natalia and Magnus)
It was said that the bond between a mother and her child was unbreakable. As Jonas wept bitterly, Natalia's tears fell in sync, splashing onto the hardwood floor. "Jonas, honey, Iâm not leaving you. I'll come visit you, I promise."
"But why can't I live with you like the other kids? I don't care, I want to stay with you!" Jonas clung to Natalia's leg, his face wet with tears and sweat.
Worried that he'd cry himself sick, Natalia soothed him gently. "Don't cry, Jonas. I swear, I'll never abandon you. You're my brave little man, okay?"
She stroked Jonasâ forehead tenderly, whispering words of comfort until he became exhausted and finally succumbed to sleep in her arms. As she gazed at Jonasâ peaceful face, Natalia planted a soft kiss on his forehead, then laid him gently on the couch and covered him with a light blanket.
âMagnus, you shouldnât have brought Jonas,â Natalia murmured reproachfully, implying that him using their son as a pawn was a low blow.
Clearly, she hadnât grasped the full extent of Magnusâ shamelessness. When she turned to scold him, she found Magnus shamelessly stripped down to his bronze, muscular torso, his suit and shirt cast aside.
Her mouth agape, Natalia scolded in a hushed tone, âMagnus, what are you doing?â
Magnus closed in, cornering Natalia against the arm of the sofa, then swiftly shed his trousers and pressed his imposing figure against her.
Propping himself up with one hand, he gazed down at her with a look of burning desire, whispering, âDarling, do you have any idea how Iâve suffered without you? If you donât save me now, I donât know what Iâll do.â
He couldnât bear the thought of Hector living with his wife. Natalia was his, and she wouldnât marry another. With the shamelessness of a man who refused to lose his love, Magnus grabbed Nataliaâs arm, spun her around, and pinned her beneath him on the sofa.
As her soft palm brushed against his cock, Magnus inhaled sharply. âDarling, I want you now! Weâre husband and wife, and Iâve missed you so much this past year.â
Nataliaâs face flushed crimson; she was about to marry Hector. How could she allow this to happen? She withdrew her hand from Magnusâ grasp and pushed against his chest. âMagnus, weâre no longer married. Let me go!â
âYou are mine, and youâll always be my only wife,â he declared, leaning in as the atmosphere charged with intimacy.
With her cheeks burning hot, Natalia glanced at Jonas, sleeping soundly beside them, afraid of waking him, and pushed at Magnus with gentle urgency. âGet off me, Magnus. Youâre going to wake Jonas!â
As if heeding her plea, Magnus stood up, but before Natalia could catch her breath, the world spun as she was swept into Magnusâ arms.
âWhat are you doing?â Nataliaâs whispered protest was cut short as she covered her mouth, mindful not to wake Jonas. Then she murmured a soft objection, âDonât do this. Jonas is right here.â
âNo, darling, you have no idea how much Iâve missed you,â Magnus said, carrying Natalia up the stairs. âTell me, which room is yours?â
Furious, Natalia struggled to break free. âPut me down this instant, or Iâll scream for help!â
Magnus laughed heartily. âDarling, if you think anyone would dare interrupt us, go ahead and scream! Iâd like to see whoâd stop a man from holding his own wife.â
Natalia had no recourse against Magnusâ roguish behavior and could only pound futilely against his chest with her small hands.
Ignoring her protests about revealing which room was hers, Magnus carried her into a random bedroom, laid her on the bed, and kissed her forehead reverently, whispering, âNat, Iâve been riddled with holes searching for you this past year. Now that Iâve found you, I miss you so much.â
He kissed her fiercely, entwining his fingers with hers. His voice was growing hoarse with emotion. âDarling, ever since that poisoning, Iâve been lifeless. I thought I might be ruined.â
Natalia blushed deeply, feeling the undeniable proof that he was far from ruined, and wondered how Magnus could claim such a thing with a straight face. She tried to pull away again, but Magnusâ grip only tightened.
As his breaths grew heavier and his hands wandered, Natalia glared at him. âMagnus... I have something to tell you. Stop this.â
But her plea seemed to encourage him further. The mere thought of Natalia living with Hector spurred a jealous rage within Magnus. His body filled with a wave of fierce anger as he devoured Nataliaâs pale skin, his voice raw. âDarling, I donât care about your past with Hector. Now, Iâll make you mine again!â
Panicking, Natalia begged, âMagnus, donât be so impulsive! I havenât been with Hector!â
She didnât want to provoke him further, realizing her earlier words had struck a nerve. The words slipped out of Nataliaâs mouth before she could stop them, a subconscious plea for understanding. She had hoped that revealing the truth to Magnus would make him let her go, but instead, it seemed to ignite a fire within him.
Magnus, who had been holding Natalia in a grip tight with anger, was suddenly shaking with emotion. His large hand trembled as he reached for her.
His voice was thick with passion. âMy love, I know you canât bear the thought of another man. I just know you couldnât. Nat, you belong to me!â
With that, his kisses descended like a storm, relentless and all-consuming. Nataliaâs attempts to resist were futile; she was overwhelmed by Magnusâ
fervent display of affection after such a long absence.
