Arianna didnât sit but remained standing. He is right, he is her father but doesnât have the right to her. She didnât know him as her father all these years and will not be recognising him now.
âI donât know you as my father. Iâm not going to acknowledge you as one now, Senator Adrian Delmarkâ Arianna snapped.
âCall me dad, Ariannaâ Adrian Delmark corrected.
âI wonât. I will not give you the privilege to be my dad. It was Richard and his Mom that mattered to you and not me nor my mother. So please, donât keep your hopes too highâ Arianna replied.
âThe things you know are little compared to the real thing. You are not part of whatever happened, nor was Richard. You should stay away from it just as I made your brother stay away.
Itâs a triangle. Itâs about Susan, Jane and I. You are not a part of it. So just shut the hell up and talk to me like a daughter should. If thereâs anyone I need to settle with, itâs definitely Susan, not youâ Adrian Delmark cautioned.
Arianna glared at him. Adrian Delmark stood up and looked at Arianna intently and said âYou didnât really look like me, youâre like your grandmother. May her soul be blessedâ he said and added âI will be waiting, my daughter. When you are ready for a talkâ
Adrian Delmark walked away and got to the car. âDad, did Arianna talk to you?â Richard asked.
âYes, but not a normal one. Sheâs still hurting. Iâll give her time and sheâll come aroundâ Adrian Delmark declared and glanced back at Arianna.
âJust a little more time, Senator, â Jace added and Adrian nodded. He slid into the car and Richard wanted to wait but his dad shook his head.
They left just as Arianna returned to Jace. âLetâs go pleaseâ she declared and went to slide into the car.
Jace instructed Arianna to use the other car. He was going to drive in his car along with Eli. Arianna said okay.
As soon as Arianna alighted from Jaceâs car, the latter turned to his son âI will take you to the office, but you must promise me somethingâ
âIf you assure me of a babyâ Eli also gave a condition. Jace Hudson just stared at the boy. Heâs like him in a lot of things. Gosh! Thatâs exactly how he was and still is even at the present.
âYes, I will give you one. But it takes time. Iâll talk to your Mom, okay?â He said and Eli nodded. âShould I say what I want to say, now?â
Eli nodded and he said âyou will see your Mom in my office. Or in its environs. Donât talk to her. Pretend as if you donât know her.
If she talks to you, youâll call her aunt. Is that clear? Donât go to her and talk to her. Only me and your uncle Chase are the ones you talk with, is that clear?â
âOkay, daddy,â Eli nodded.
Jace glanced at him and sighed. Eli is smart and intelligent. Heâs a replica of himself. He knew he understood what he said and would do exactly like that.
When Jace arrived at the office. He walked into the elevator with Eli. When the employees saw him, heads turned in their direction.
âYoung master!â He heard some of them blurted out in whispers. Jace didnât pay attention to them nor did Eli. He got to the highest floor where the CEO office lies.
A lot of the employees saw them but were afraid to say anything. They were going to earn half their salaries and that is enough for them to bear. They canât bear the consequences of losing an entire salary for just a few minutes of talking.
Sara saw Eli and didnât hold back âSo cute and adorableâ she lifted him off his feet and kissed his chubby cheeks.
She didnât let him go into the office with his dad but gave him a seat beside her. Jace glanced at them together and shrugged.
But before entering, he heard Eli say âI want to go to my daddyâ and climbed down from the seat. Jace then stretched his hand and carried him.
The news of the CEO having a son spread all over the company. Chase got wind of it and asked his brother to let Eli come to his office.
Arianna returned to the office about thirty minutes later. She had hardly settled down to work when Chase walked in. He looked confused and sank into the seat in front of Arianna.
The office wall is made of transparent glass. Everyone could see them but wouldnât know what their conversation was centred on. Except Jace, who could hear them and thatâs only if he is interested in their conversation.
âHow have you been Arianna? Jace told me you are Senator Adrianâs daughter. How did you find out or how did he recognise you as his daughter?
Have you gotten along with him? Is he willing to acknowledge you as his daughter? I must say having Jace as a boyfriend and Senator Adrian as a father, youâre one lucky womanâ¦â Chase was talking in a stretch that Arianna doesnât know which of his questions she would answer first.
âHonestly, Chase Hudson, your questions are confusing just as your facial expression portrayed. I donât know what to say but to ask you why you look unhappyâ Arianna asked, tactically dodging the topic of Adrian Delmark and herself.
âIâm confused, Arianna. You are a mother and that makes you more experienced on issues of women and pregnancy than bachelors like meâ¦â Chase said and trailed off.
He looked around and suddenly stood up, making a disconnection on the wall. Arianna squinted. Whatâs that tiny piece of microphone for, in her office?
Anyways, she shook the thought off as Chase returned and sat down. â`I didnât want Jace to hear our conversationâ he sighed softly and continued, âI want you to help me.
There is this girlfriend of mine who claimed to be pregnantâ¦âhe was saying when Arianna interrupted him.
âShe claimed to be pregnant or sheâs really pregnant?â She asked. She wants to get things straight here. âTo claimâ is different from âto really beâ.
Chase Hudson chuckled and said âSheâs pregnant. I saw the pregnancy test report. But I donât want the baby. Iâm not in love with his motherâ
Arianna closed her design and glared at Chase. She was going to ask him if he knew he was not in love with the lady before drilling his dick into her and got her pregnant but Chase continued:
âI know you would want to ask me why I slept with her despite not being in love with her. Or better still why I didnât use protection, but I donât know what love is. I have never had that feeling, Arianna.
All I know is that I only want to have sex. I just want to satisfy my craving. But I canât say that I really love any of the women Iâve ever had an encounter with..â Chase Hudson explained and sighed softly.
Arianna just glared at him and squinted. Why was he telling her this? Is there anything he wants her to do, or is there any way she can be of help to him?
âThe reason why Iâm telling you about this woman is that I want you to meet her and talk to her. If she doesnât want to have an abortion, fine I wonât insist anymore.
But she shouldnât expect anything from me. I already told her that I donât love her. We can only be each otherâs childâs parents. I will be responsible for my baby but for her, I wonât be owning her anything?â Chase pleaded.
Rosalinda was going through uneasy days with the pregnancy. His assistant Nicolas had told him how she frequented the hospital. He is damn worried about her and the child.
âHave you talked to her!â Arianna asked. His last words made a lot of sense to her. They could be each otherâs childâs parents, that would be better than choosing the option to go for an abortion.
âThe times we meet, we always end up on the wrong note. I talked her down the last time and she slapped me. We left each other in fury.
To avoid a heated argument again, I want someone else to help me out. And the closest person to me is Jace. But I canât bring this matter to him..â Chase explained.
âAlright, let me have her contact thenâ Arianna agreed.
Chase thanked her and suddenly remembered something âArianna, I know itâs not in my place to say this, but would you try to persuade Jace to get intimate with you?
Intimacy that I meant is sex. He rarely gets interested in it. In fact, I doubt if he would ever take the initiative. In that case, you should. Ask him for it. I hope you will understand beyond my wordsâ
Arianna nodded. Chase gave her Rosalindaâs contact and thanked her. He would await positive feedback.
When Chase left, Arianna thought about what Chase said. Jace hadnât done anything with her since the first day they shared bed. He doesnât seem interested in making love to her.
Was he having a problem with women or with her in particular? She knew he was addicted to his ex, but towards her, he was always cold.
