Chapter 156: I flopped
One Night With The Billionaire
Arianna squinted. She turned and glared at Richard. The latter looked away. Then she turned and glanced at Jane, who pouted her lips and stared at her son with a disapproved glance.
âYou invited me over for something else and not just for sharing a breakfast with you?â Arianna asked, glancing at her stepmother.
âYes. But weâll have breakfast firstâ Jane Delmark replied and held her hand and they came to the dining table together.
Throughout the breakfast, Richard kept throwing glances at Arianna. Suddenly he asked âArianna, you know our dad hasnât been home for days now, right?â
Arianna dropped her cutleries and glared at Richard. âYes, I know,â she responded. She could guess where Richard was heading.
âAnd you are spending time with him without pleading with him to return home. Mom is worried about dad and you are not concerned about mom, right?â Richard reprimanded.
âOn the contrary, I still talked about coming home to dad last night. He told me he would sleep over it. But why are you blaming me for whatever the reason was that dad isnât coming home?
Heâs an adult. He canât be forced to do whatever he doesnât want to do. You think I do not care about this family simply because I am not a bonafide member of it?
I think you should find dad and talk to him as well. Youâve known him for a long time. You grew up in his arms, you should be able to coax him to do soâ Arianna replied.
âI canât. I am the reason why he left home. There is nothing I can say to dad that he would listen to me. Besides, you are a bonafide member of this family.
I donât know Where you got that lame idea from. If you hadnât moved in with Jace, I would have persuaded you to move inâ Richard declared.
âRichard is right. You both are the children Iâve got. You shouldnât make that mistake of thinking you are an outsider. You are Adrianâs daughter and you are mine tooâ Jane Delmark corrected.
Arianna held Janeâs hands and gave it a soft squeeze. Her eyes went teary and she smiled. Jane also smiled.
âIâll call dad now,â Arianna said. She took her phone and dialled Adrianâs contact and he soon answered the phone.
âAriannaâ the thick masculine voice echoed from the other end of the phone.
âGood morning dadâ Arianna said and Adrian replied to her. Arianna asked him if he was coming home. Sheâs actually in the house, waiting for him.
âIâm coming over to pick a few itemsâ Adrian responded and soon hung up. âDad will soon be home,â Arianna announced.
It wasnât quite ten minutes, they heard the honking of a car. Adrian walked in and Jane went to hug him, he dodged her and glanced at Arianna âYou want to see me?â
âNo dad. I came over for breakfast and I saw that Mom missed you so muchâ Arianna said.
âYour Mom doesnât miss me. She has Richard with herâ Adrian replied and glanced at Richard, still provoked.
âDad Iâm sorryâ Richard apologised and went to hug his dad but Adrian said âNo need. Iâm not done looking at myself in the mirror.
Meanwhile, donât stalk or trail me again. Because if you do, I will shoot a bullet into your skullâ he warned and went upstairs.
Jane sighed. It seemed she would go teary. She glanced at Richard and the latter shrugged.
âI think you should go to him. Do whatever you can to make him talk to you. Heâs your husbandâs mom, you should know his weaknessesâ Arianna declared and winked an eye.
Jane smiled and went in. Arianna and Richard glared at each other. Richard tried holding Ariannaâs hand but she avoided his touch.
âYouâre still mad with me, right?â Richard asked, crossing his hands around Ariannaâs shoulders. He pulled her to himself and kissed her temple.
âShouldnât I be? You think itâs not proper that I should be mad with you? After what you did to Genesis, I have no words to say to youâ Arianna snapped at him.
âI flopped. I know I hurt her. But please believe me, I thought I was with Genesis. I went to her place and she sent me out. We had a misunderstanding.
I was furious and went to the bar. I got drunk and groggily drove home. When Tessa came, it was Genesis I saw. I was hallucinating. I was the one who hugged her and told her I was glad she came.
I swear I didnât see her as Tessa. In my vague memory, I remember kissing her and undressing her. I wouldnât do that to anyone else besides her.
I wish you would believe me. Dad wouldnât believe me and thatâs where we had a misunderstanding. My Mom wouldnât believe me either and the same with dadâ Richard explained.
âHonestly, I donât think I will believe you as well. You still loved Tessa very much. You openly showed your feelings for her at the engagement party.
You told Genesis that she forced a kiss on you at the beginning. You said you would have probably made up with Tessa if she hadnât thrown herself at you.
Now telling me itâs not intentional, how do you want me to believe you? You know that she loves you. She was suspicious of your relationship with her, but you donât care.
If you were drunk and claimed you were hallucinating. Was Tessa also hallucinating? What is she doing in your apartment at such an hour if she doesnât have an ulterior motive?
Was she also drunk? When you undressed her, why didnât she stop you, knowing sheâs not your girlfriend. Why did she let you fuck her?
She canât let you go, right? She wants to be back in your life and she succeeded. I think you should go back to her and get reunited with her. Forget about Genesisâ Arianna seethed.
âYou donât believe me?â Richard asked helplessly. No one believes him. Genesis, his dad, mom and now his only sister. No one believes him.
âYes bro. I donât believe youâ Arianna declared firmly.
Jane held Adrianâs waist from behind. The latter kept putting clothes in his suitcase and quickly closed it. He picked the suitcase when Jane stood in front of him, blocking his paths.
âWhatâs the meaning of this?â Adrian snapped. His stare was cold and he glared at his wife.
