Chapter 33

Mafia's Princess

Some days later, Victoria had barely even thought about that night. The boys started spoiling her more, so that she could forget about the matter. Also, they were worried things like that could happen again, because, well, it was common on their lives.

But of course they were going to make sure it didn't happen again.

Right now, the girl was sleeping peacefully in Ross' bed, but he had plans for her that day, even though he had let her stay up an hour and a half later than usual.

"Baby, wake up" he whispered, slightly shaking her body. "It's alredy late"

She just turned around and whined, now bothered at whoever had interrupted her dream. Ross shook her a few more times, earning the same reaction and a whimper. But he couldn't get angry at that, he found it adorable.

"Why are you so whiny, hm?" He chuckled, "come on, I have a surprise for you"

Victoria finally opened her eyes, tiredly sitting up in bed and making grabby hands at the man to be picked up. Ross immediately did, feeling her head hiding on his shoulder.

He wasn't sure why she was that sleepy. After all, she had slept a lot anyways, but maybe she just wasn't in the mood to do anything.

"Did you have a nice sleep?"

"Mhm. I dreamed about you Daddy"

He fakely gasped and stroked her hair on their way downstairs.

"You did?"

"Yes! And Jake and Marcus and Jeff... and we were all playing together"

Ross wanted to chuckle at that, well, at everything she did, because he found every action of Victoria innocent and cute. But he assumed she'd get angry and more grumpy than she alredy was.

"Hi, bubs" Jeff said as soon as they got downstairs.

Victoria said a barely audible "hi" in response and closed her eyes again, making Ross chuckle and bounce her a little.

"You've just woken up, baby. We can't get back to sleep"

She whimpered in response, and Jeff patted her head and said he was going to get some breakfast on her, to which Victoria finally woke up.

To say she was feeling littler than usual was an understatement. She just liked all the attention she was getting, and also, Victoria didn't want to be big right then. She just wanted to play and sleep.

Ross put on some random cartoons for her on the TV (he took a mental note to delete the horror channels that his brothers watched) and grabbed the bowl Jeff had left on the table.

He was about to give it to her, but she refused. Ross didn't really get what Victoria wanted at first, but then realized, making an "o" shape with his mouth.

"You want daddy to feed you, don't you?"

He didn't wait for an answer because it was rather an affirmation than a question. Ross proudly smiled once she started eating, although slowly, while watching her shows.

It was a pretty nice moment, specially because they were both alone and no one was there to bother. Ross knew he could take a break sometimes, and that's exactly what he was doing those days. He just wanted to spend time with his baby.

Of course he couldn't completely get his mind out of work, but he also needed to rest.

He patted her head once she finished, proud she ate all of it. Ross stood up and was about to go when he felt his shirt being pulled, a small hand grabbing it.

"What is it, baby? I'll be here in a sec" he confusedly asked.

"No go" was all Victoria said. She didn't understand why, but she just couldn't find the words, or didn't really want to speak at the moment.

"Alright princess, lemme just-"

Her eyes started to water as soon as he spoke, grabbing his shirt tighter. Ross panicked a little, because even if it was normal for her to be clingy, she was behaving differently.

Sighing, he picked her up before she cried, bouncing the girl so that her whimpers could stop.

"It's okay babygirl. Daddy's right here, see?" He reassuringly said.

Victoria hid her head in his shoulder and hugged his neck. She didn't want him to go, even if Ross just would be back in some minutes. Truth be told, they both were new to that reaction, as she would always be less clingy than that.

Anyway, Ross started walking around the room, slightly bouncing the girl so that she could relax a little and fall asleep, if possible. For her, being held by her Daddy was the nicest feeling ever. She loved spending time with him, but somehow she felt littler now, and could get really upset if he wasn't there.

Ross could tell she was slowly dozing off, her breath getting more peaceful as he kept rubbing circles on her back and stroking her hair.

He liked holding her, and make sure she was alright all the time. Even if he was stressed, spending time with Victoria made him feel a lot less bothered. They both enjoyed each other's company.

"Ross! You here?"

Victoria immediately jolted by whoever had interrupted her almost-sleep (for the second time) by yelling. She let out a whimper and realized it was Marcus.

Even if she couldn't see his face, she knew Ross had intensely glared at him.

"I- I'm sorry princess" he said, now looking at his brother. "Ross, we need to go"

"What?"

"Some business matter with some jerk messing with our territories. Our men say they 'want' them and nonsense, so we should go"

Ross sighed, repositioning the girl on his arms and looked at his brother again.

"Alright, I-"

"Daddy, no!" Victoria demanded.

She unconsciously started crying at him, startling them both. Ross quickly started bouncing her, not minding about his brother at that point, and mumbling sweet nonsense to her.

Part of her didn't fully understand what was happening to her, but she kind of couldn't control it. The man started walking around again, but he couldn't get her cries to stop. He understood leaving her that day wasn't an option at all.

Marcus didn't really know what to do, he didn't like seeing her so upset. At some point, he had an idea and quickly went upstairs, coming back not even a minute later with a stuffie on his hands.

"Look, baby. It's Daisy, you've left her in your room, see?" He desperately said, hoping it would work.

At first she hesitantly grabbed it, her cries dying a little, but then she tightly hugged the object and calmed down, now whimpering and sniffling. Victoria heard them both sigh, and Ross stroking her hair again.

"Daddy's not going anywhere today, yeah? I promise"

The girl slowly nodded and Marcus directed him a "really?" look, but Ross didn't pay attention. Victoria repositioned her head on his shoulder, not bothering to hug his neck as he was strong enough to easily hold her.

"The three of you can go for now. And if anyone asks, just say I'm dealing with something else, I don't know"

Marcus felt really bothered by the fact his brother wouldn't go with them. It was really important for him to be in almost every conflict or whatever, because he was one of the most important parts of the Caruso mafia. But he knew he wouldn't get mad at his reason anyway.

He simply nodded and went to tell the rest of the family.

"You're really clingy today, aren't you?" Ross said as soon as they were alone again. His little girl simply huffed, letting him know she wasn't in the mood. "Alright. Hmm... wanna spend time with me today?"

Hey guys <33

I'm really sorry for disappearing for so long. I got sick and then I had to study, like, a lot. To be honest I also didn't know what to write this chapter about, so I would always write a few sentences and leave it again, hehe.

Hope you enjoyed this part!
