Chapter 36

Mafia's Princess

The next morning, Victoria woke up with Ross next to her. She smiled at that, because he really meant what he said the night before about not leaving her. She repositioned herself in Ross' arms even though it was a little hot outside.

Vicky buried her face on his chest and focused on his heartbeats, and the way it

vibrated. She contentedly hummed, as it was her favourite part of the day.

To her surprise though, Ross tightened his hug, signaling he had been awoke all the time.

"Good morning"

"Morning. How did u sleep?" Ross tiredly asked.

"Fine... I didn't have any nightmares last night. Thanks for staying with me, Ross" Vicky said, hugging him back. His shirt still had his cologne, something that always made her feel happy.

"See? I told you I'm here, nothing bad will happen"

He broke the hug, earning a whine from her, even though she wasn't in little space. Ross smirked and sat up on bed, stretching a little and going to change his clothes. Victoria spotted he wasn't wearing anything too formal, more like some casual clothes, unusual of him.

"I'm going to work on something else today, no meetings" he explained seeing her confused expression.

"What do you mean?"

Ross didn't answer, instead, he changed the subject.

"Jake and I will be working, but Jeff and Marcus will be here if you need anything. I'll be back in the afternoon, I guess"

"Uh, alright. Gimme a kiss?"

He chuckled and did as she said, giving her a kiss and a quick peck on the cheek.

"Good luck today"

"Alright, thanks. See you later, princess"

Victoria wanted to protest at the nickname right then, but she couldn't as he was already out of the room. She sighed and got up, realizing it was about 9 in the morning.

Today she wanted to do many things, as she wasn't feeling little and could maybe give Ross a surprise dinner or something. One thing he didn't know, was how much the girl loved cooking.

So, after scrolling through her phone for some minutes, Victoria made the bed and changed into a comfy but pretty dress, and tied her hair into a messy bun to go downstairs.

Even if it was a little colder than usual that day, she was in a good mood. Nothing could go wrong, or make her feel otherwise.

Downstairs, she was about to eat some breakfast when someone suddenly appeared, making her jolt in surprise.

"You scared me!"

"Uh? I didn't do anything" Marcus said, a confused look on his face. "Although it's funny when you get scared, Vicky"

She scoffed and turned back, continuing with her actions.

"Alright, alright. Sorry, my bad" he sincerely apologized. "Hey, have you seen Ross?"

"Uh, like half an hour ago. He said he wasn't going to attend any meetings today, but he still disappeared. Where could he have gone?"

Victoria watched as Marcus became a little nervous, while she fixed herself a bowl of cereal. He scratched the back of his head, deciding wether to tell her the truth or not.

"Well, he's... in the basement"

"Again? Marcus, what do you guys do there?" she pouted. Victoria  had an idea of what could it be, but still wanted a verbal answer.

"We've alredy talked about this, haven't we?" Marcus said in a soft but stern tone, the same he used when she was little. Victoria scoffed again.

"Yeah, but I still want to know. Can't I go for a quick minut-"

"No"

She huffed and frowned at that,  because Marcus was like a second Daddy to her. The way he resembled his brother could be annoying sometimes. That and also, Vicky hated feeling scolded or being said "no". She didn't even understand what was so important about the basement that she couldn't know or see.

"I know you're angry, but understand we do this for you, yeah?"

"Sure" she grumpily said. Victoria got up and went anywhere else, leaving Marcus in the kitchen.

The man sighed. She wasn't even in her little space, but she was still so stubborn, like a kid. He hated when she got mad at him, because it felt as if he was in bad terms with his little sister, and of course he'd like to spoil her more often, but sometimes he simply couldn't.

Victoria, on the other hand, wasn't going to give up too easily, she was going to find the oportunity to sneak into the room and take a look at whatever the Caruso were doing there someday.

She took a look at the window, the sky being covered by clouds now. Napping sounded like a good idea, as she would probably catch a cold if she went outside as planned before.

So that's what the girl did, choosing the couch as her bed for now. Sometimes, Ross came earlier than what he had said, so maybe he would be there when she opened her eyes.

After an hour and something, though, Vicky saw not her daddy but Jeff standing in front of her, a blanket on his hands.

"Had a good nap?" he asked, covering her body with the white fuzzy blanket.

She hummed in response, tiredly rubbing her eyes, to which Jeff couldn't tell if she was little or not.

"I fine" she lied, only to realize how cold she was.

The truth is, she had been feeling pretty weird lately, but assumed she was all better now. Maybe the girl should have taken more care of herself.

Jeff spent the entire morning outside though, speaking on the phone and to some of the goons, and also watching the dogs being trained, so he couldn't be there earlier to take care of her.

Just when she was about to say something, a familiar voice entered the room, Jake dressed just like Ross that morning.

"Jeff, Ross' asking for you. I'm tired" his brother said.

"...yeah, sure. Be there in a minute"

He left the room, not before patting the girl on the head and exchanging some words with Jake.

As soon as he left, Victoria made grabby hands at the youngest of the Caruso's, Jake obviously picking her up inmediately. After doing the dirty work, he really needed the little girl.

"Missed me? Oh, you're too cold" he sighed, grabbing the blanket again and covering the girl's body, earning a whine from her. "Why are you whining? No, don't take it off"

"Hot"

He ignored the girl and headed to his room, planning on watching a movie before lunch time. Of course, Victoria wasn't that happy about it. She whimpered at the warmth of the blanket and for Jake ignoring her.

"Shh, it's alright. You're okay, wanna watch a movie?"

Instead of a verbal answer, Vicky happily hummed at the idea. Jake shook his head, thinking she was just being clingy, but he didn't mind.

Her crying made him snap out of his thoughts as he worriedly looked back at her, did he have blood on him again or something, that scared her?

"It's okay princess, what is it? Why are you crying?"

"Daisy" she said in the middle of the stairs, pointing at the stuffy laid on the sofa.

"Of course, how could I forget?" Jake said, bouncing her while going to grab Daisy.

He found it weird, she rarely behaved that "little", at least with him. But he thought it was okay, as long as he got to cuddle with her.

Little did he know, he had a long day ahead.
