Chapter 213 - Heibaos Revenge
Beauty and the Bodyguard
âDonât you worry, Master Zhong- Iâm not after you. Itâs that piece of shit Lin Yi!! Iâm out here to wipe him off the planet!!â Heibao explained, noticing what Pinliang was worrying about. âBut I donât have a single penny on me now- Iâll need Master Zhongâs support financially!â
Pinliang let out a sigh of relief upon hearing the explanation- everything was fine as long as Heibao wasnât after his blood. He wanted money, and that wasnât a big deal- he had money! Heibao had went in as his scapegoat, after all, and he was even talking about fucking Lin Yi up for him! Pinliang was but overjoyed to help.
âDonât worry, Heibao Bro. Money isnât an issue here, Iâll go talk with my dad! Iâll get you a million kuai first!â Pinliang said. âAs for Lin Yi, though, weâll need to talk about this a bit more- we canât get him at school anymore, weâll need a different location!â
âThank you, Master Zhong!â Heibao was relieved himself at Pinliangâs generosity, pulling a million out right away- it seemed that heâd come to the right place. The Zhongs treated him well, too... He hadnât been a scapegoat for nothing! Pinliangâs statement regarding Lin Yi, on the other hand, made perfect sense- heâd never go after Lin Yi in public again. He nodded. âThatâs right, weâll need to discuss this later, but I canât stay too long. I wonât be able to beat that shit up if my body goes back to normal.â
âDonât worry, Heibao, itâll only be a couple days!â Pinliang wanted Lin Yi dead as soon as possible, too- the guy had flipped his chair in front of everyone! It was too great a humiliation, and heâd never rest until he got him to pay.
âAlright, Iâll be going! Here, my phone number.â Heibao said as he handed a piece of paper to Pinliang. âNews of my escapeâs gonna become public soon, and theyâll be on you when that happens. I should be fine with this body, but I wouldnât wanna drag you guys down.â
âOkay, Heibao Bro. Iâll call you after I get the one million from dad!â Pinliang said, a little touched at Heibaoâs concern for him.
âDonât rush that- Lin Yi comes first.â Heibao was really itching for Lin Yiâs blood. âThat fucking shit, I canât live on with him breathing!!â
âOkay then, you go first, Heibao Bro. Iâll talk to my dad, and weâll talk about Lin Yi later. Iâll call you.â Pinliang nodded.
Heibao nodded as well, patting Pinliangâs shoulder without saying anything else. He leapt off the windowsill and disappeared into the night.
âFuck, seriously? Heâs like a martial arts master in wuxia novels or something.â Pinliang said, stunned as he stared at the empty windowsill. He looked down and found that Heibao had disappeared already.
Heâd have thought he was dreaming if it werenât for the piece of paper in his hand!
Pinliang pulled his phone out and started dialing his dad up, who only picked up after quite a couple of rings. It was pretty noisy on the other end of the call- Fabai was outside drinking. âPinliang, whatâs the matter?â
âDad, thereâs an emergency. Can you come home first?â Pinliang said with a lowered voice, even if no one was there to eavesdrop on him.
âWhat happened? Iâm with a client, your motherâs here too- theyâre old friends! Itâs not something I can just walk away from.â Fabai said.
âIt really is an emergency, dad! Can you come home first?â Pinliang was worried that someone on Fabaiâs end might hear him, and didnât want to risk exposing anything.
âPinliang, what is it? Dadâs really busy here, canât you understand that?!â Fabai was a little displeased at that point- how serious could it be?
âHeibao escaped from prison.....â Pinliang said, lowering his voice as much as possible.
âWhat? What did you say?!â Fabai froze. âAlright, wait for me- Iâm coming back now.â
Fabaiâs heart tightened at the name- his clients werenât that big a concern anymore. After all, this was something that could get his own son in jail if he didnât sort it out properly.
Heâd gotten a lawyer to meet up with Heibao, and got him to shoulder all the blame for a big reward after getting out... Things got really complicated if he just ran like that.
He turned to his wife. âHua, you chat with our old friends first- somethingâs happened with Pinliang, I need to go back first!â
âAlright, hurry back then.â Fabaiâs wife, naturally, understood the gravity of the situation if it could pull her husband away at a time like this. She didnât bother stressing him with any questions. âLeave everything here to me- they all know Iâm a big drinker.â
The other people present at the table werenât too pleased with Fabai just leaving like that- they hadnât even started drinking yet! What Fabaiâs wife said, however, made the situation clear, and they just nodded in acknowledgement. They were old enough friends, after all.
Fabai left the pub and got into a taxi, leaving the car for his wife. It wasnât long before he got home.
He didnât even bother taking his coat off as he yelled for his son after opening the door. âPinliang, where are you? Iâm home!â
Pinliang ran out his room and down the stairs upon hearing his fatherâs voice. âDad!â
âTell me, where did you hear this... It doesnât seem to be public yet?â Fabai said curiously. Heibao breaking out of prison was a really big deal, after all- how would Pinliang know about it when the news hadnât reported anything?
Pinliang was about to speak when Fabaiâs phone rang.
Fabai looked at who was calling, quickly gesturing for his son to keep quiet as he answered the phone. âCaptain Song- whyâre you calling so late?â
âChairman Zhong? I have bad news- Heibaoâs escaped.â Lingshan didnât want to be making this phone call, but it was a necessity. After all, Fabai was one of the main targets for Heibaoâs vengeance...
Lingshan had an idea of why Heibao had done all of that at school... She also knew why Heibao was willing to take responsibility for all the crimes. Zhong Fabaiâs influence in the city was strong, and he even had a close relative as a Pengzhan Industries shareholder. There were many parties involved, and Lingshan didnât want to have too many suspicions without proper evidence.
