As the room filled with the echoing sound of Marleneâs wicked and sadistic cackle, the fear that flickered across Angelaâs face sent a shiver down her spine.
Despite Angelaâs attempt to maintain a façade of courage, the raw terror reflected in her eyes only. fueled Marleneâs twisted amusement. It delighted her to see Angela trembling, to know that the mere sight of her pulling the trigger had reminded Angela of the imminent threat of death that could befall her in any second.
âScaredy cat, arenât you, Angela?â Marlene taunted between her laughter and the malicious glee evident in her voice as she reveled in Angelaâs distress. âDonât worry, the gun isnât loaded yet,â she added with a smirk, the glint of malevolence in her eyes as she relished in the power she held over Angela.
A look of disbelief mingled with fear flashed across Angelaâs features as she stared at Marlene in shock. âYouâre absolutely crazy,â she managed to stammer out, the gravity of the situation finally sinking in.
Scoffing at Angelaâs words, Marlene rolled her eyes before retorting. âThatâs old news, darling. Everyone knows Iâm crazy. It seems youâre the one who underestimated just how crazy I can be, considering you had the audacity to talk back and defy me.â
Angela let out a frustrated sigh, her voice laced with a mix of anger and desperation. âDo you find it amusing to barge into someoneâs house and point a gun at them?â she challenged, her tone tinged with defiance. âYou do realize I could have you reported to the police, right?â
With a wicked smile playing on her l*ps, Marlene pulled out a cigarette and a lighter out of her purse, with the gun still tightly clutched in her hands. She lit the cigarette like an expert and took a slow drag from it before blowing out a cloud of smoke.
âOh, Angela, sweetie,â she purred, the glint of malice in her eyes unmistakable. âI know your CCTV cameras arenât set up yet. You just moved in, remember? So, if I decided to blow your head off right now, no one would know. Youâd die like the d*rty dog that you are, and no one would find you for a few good days,â she taunted, the threat hanging heavy in the air between them.

Angelaâs scoff was tinged with a hint of desperation as she reminded Marlene of the cameras outside
the apartment. But Marlene simply chuckled wickedly, the darkness in her gaze unwavering.
âStop grasping at straws, Angela. Accept the reality that your life is now in my hands,â she stated coldly, the power she held over Angela evident. âDonât try to fight it, because itâs not going to end well for you.â
The room was thick with tension, the acrid scent of burning cigarette smoke mingling with the scent of fear that filled the air.
Angelaâs shuddering sigh resonated through the room, a shaky exhale that betrayed the fear she was feeling. With a voice laced with frustration and a hint of fear, she finally spoke up.
âWhat do you want from me, Marlene? Why are you doing this?â Angelaâs voice quivered slightly as she addressed her, her eyes narrowing in anger. âIf you want me to stop seeing Kayden, fine. Keep him for all I care, but just leave me alone and get out of my house.â
Marleneâs laughter echoed through the room once again, a chilling sound that sent another shiver down Angelaâs spine. Without warning, Marlene closed the distance between them, the gun in her hand becoming a weapon in more ways than one. With a sudden, brutal strike, Marlene used the gun to hit Angelaâs stomach, the impact sending a wave of pain searing through her.
Angela crumpled to the ground, a cry of agony escaping her l*ps as she clutched at her stomach. And then, to Angelaâs horror, Marlene took another cruel turn. With deliberate and sadistic intent, she pressed the lit end of the cigarette into Angelaâs arm, the searing pain of the bu
causing Angela
to hiss in sheer agony.
Instinctively, Angela attempted to push Marlene away, a desperate attempt to escape the torment she was subjected to. But Marleneâs reaction was swift and brutal. A sharp, stinging slap landed across Angelaâs face, a harsh punishment that halted Angelaâs attempt to overpower Marlene. As the cigarette continued to burn into her skin, Angela could only continue to cry in pain.
Finally satisfied with the extent of Angelaâs suffering, Marlene withdrew the cigarette and leisurely took a drag, the smoke curling lazily around her. Standing tall and unrepentant in front of Angelaâs fallen form, Marleneâs eyes held a glint of wickedness.
âYouâre either foolish or pretending to be, Angela,â she stated mockingly. âI believe I made myself clear before when I told you that I wanted you to kill Amber. How difficult is it to keep that in mind?â

Angela, still reeling from the pain inflicted on her, mustered the strength to respond, her voice
strained with anger and pain. âIâm not an assassin, Marlene. I donât go around killing people,â she stated firmly.
Marlene scoffed dismissively at Angelaâs protest, the twisted smile on her l*ps belying her cruel intentions. âA person capable of killing an unborn child is capable of anything, Angela. So donât
pretend to be innocent with me,â she retorted coldly. âYou could kill Amber if you wanted to, and your better keep in mind that Iâm not giving you room to say no.â
âWhat exactly do I get out of killing Amber, Marlene?â Angelaâs voice held a note of bitterness as she addressed Marlene. âI hate her; thatâs true, but I wonât go around killing people without a good
reason. So, whatâs in it for me?â
Marleneâs laughter cut through the tension, the sound sending a chill down Angelaâs spine. With a smirk playing on her l*ps, Marlene leaned in closer, her words dripping with malice. âIf you agree to do it, Angela, youâll be securing your own future. Youâll be keeping yourself out of prison and
prolonging your miserable days on this earth,â she replied the promise of twisted salvation in her
words.
Angelaâs dissatisfaction was palpable as she furrowed her brows. âWhat are you talking about, Marlene?â she demanded, her voice tinged with a mix of confusion and apprehension.
Folding her arms across her chest, Marlene fixed Angela with a steely gaze. âOh Angela, poor,â she sneered. âIf you donât do as I say, everyone will know what you did to Raymond Romero. Theyâll know you set him up and planted drugs on him to get back at his son for leaving you and marrying another woman. How about that?â Marleneâs tone was like ice, a chilling reminder of the power she held over Angela.
âAnd letâs not forget what you did to my baby,â Marlene added. âConsider yourself lucky to still be breathing. And keep in mind that you have 72 hours to do, as I say, thatâs it. No more excuses. Get to work, Angela,â
Angelaâs disbelief was evident as she tried to comprehend the depth of Marleneâs insanity. âBut how am I supposed to kill her?â Angela asked in a voice laced with disbelief.
Marleneâs eyes narrowed, a cold glint of amusement dancing in their depths. âGet creative, Angela,â she drawled, a sinister smile curling on her l*ps. âHire hitmen, tamper with her car brakes, and make it look like an accident. The possibilities are endless.â

A bitter laugh escaped Angelaâs l*ps, a mix of desperation and defiance in her tone. Locking eyes
with Marlene, she spoke with rage. âFine, Iâll do it. But know this, Marlene. You better sleep with
one eye open, because I wonât forget this. I wonât forgive you for what youâre making me do.â
Marleneâs laughter rang through the room, a chilling sound that echoed with cold amusement. âOh, Angela, youâre always so entertaining,â she taunted, a cruel glint in her eyes. âBut in your case,
you better not sleep at all, dear. Or you might just end up in a coffin. R.I.P.â
With a final, disdainful flick of her cigarette on Angela, Marlene placed her back in her purse, and
with a smirk playing on her l*ps, she turned and walked out of the apartment, leaving Angela in a
haze of fear and anger.
