Marlene and her friends sat around the luxurious table at Sauvage, reveling in the luxury that

surrounded them.

The atmosphere reeked of affluence, catering only to a privileged few.

As they waited for their orders to arrive, Sarah couldn’t help but express her gratitude to Marlene for bringing them to such a lavish establishment. She confessed that she had never imagined herself dining in a place like this because of how expensive it was to be here.

Madison, her eyes wide with happiness, chimed in, echoing Sarah’s sentiment. She admitted that she could never afford such an extravagant experience on her own. She proceeded to share the story of how she had mentioned their lunch plans to her husband and how he immediately suggested finding a mo

But then, as soon as she mentioned that Marlene was sponsoring the occasion, he immediately chang

his mind and asked her to have fun.

On hearing Madison’s story, the four women would burst into a loud laugh, with Marlene’s voice being

the loudest.

Marlene, her tone dripping with arrogance, responded to their laughter with a self–satisfied smirk. “Well, my dears, you should be thanking me for more than just this decadent meal,” she declared.

She paused, relishing the moment as her friends leaned in, awaiting her next revelation. “Without me, you wouldn’t have access to the luxuries life has to offer, because, I mean, with your husband’s paychecks, they can hardly afford to buy you the cheapest designer bags,” Marlene proclaimed, her voice laced with a condescending air.

life.

She had always been the one to covet extravagant possessions and indulge in lavish experiences, while

“And let’s not forget how smart you were to get nant at just the right time,” she added. “You’ve

secured your place in his life and increased your access to his wealth.”

Marlene’s smug expression widened into a triumphant grin as if their words affirmed her perceived

superiority.

She continued basking in her self–proclaimed superiority, boasting about her lavish lifestyle, and

subtly belittling her friends along the way.
