Chapter 56
Married To My Ex-Husband’s Rival by Jobet GraySon
Chapter Fifty Six
Amberâs POV.
Richard stood in front of me, arms folded across his chest and a disapproving expression etched on
his handsome face.
His concern for my wellâbeing was evident as he asked if I was sure about not wanting to find a way to stop the release of the article Marlene and my mother had paid the reporter to publish.
He hasnât stopped talking about the fact that I hadnât even had my first public appearance as his wife yet, and the repercussions of the article could lead to endless rumors and harassment from the
paparazzi.
I simply shrugged, a mischievous glint in my eyes, as I responded. âThatâs exactly what I want,
Richard.â His eyebrows furrowed in confusion, and I continued, âMy plan all along has been to make
Marlene use her own hands to drag the media into our business, and Iâm just glad itâs happening
sooner than I expected.â
Richardâs bewilderment was evident on his face as he tried to comprehend my reasoning. âBut, Amber, donât you understand the consequences of such a public scandal? Itâs too early for you to deal with
that. Youâre not used to public scrutiny at all, he pressed, his voice laced with concern as he took
a seat on the edge of my bed.
I let out a soft sigh, realizing that Richard couldnât truly grasp the depths of my plan. I turned to
face him, his form perched on the edge of the bed, and met his gaze squarely. âWhat I want, Richard, is for this story to become a big deal,â I explained. âMarleneâs intentions are clear. She wants to justify her marriage to Kayden, despite him being her former brotherâinâlaw, while also attempting to portray me as the unfaithful wife, and I want that to happen because Iâm going to use it against her eventually.â
Richardâs face contorted with comprehension as he started to see the bigger picture. âSo, what youâre saying is that you have a plan to counter their narrative if things become a mess?â
I smirked, a sense of confidence coursing through my veins. âOh, Richard, you underestimate meâ I responded. âI have more than enough evidence to turn the tables and transform both Marlene and Kayden, particularly Marlene, into the villains of this story. One good thing, or should I say bad. thing, about my little sister is her big mouth. When she thinks sheâs hurting you, she talks

much for her own good, and I have a lot of our postâdivorce conversation recorded.â

A flicker of realization illuminated Richardâs eyes as he began to understand the depth of my strategy.
âYouâre not playing a defensive game, are you? Are you sure it wonât all go south?â he murmured, his
voice filled with awe.
I shook my head, a smirk tugging at my l*ps. âNo, Richard. Iâm going on the offensive,â I declared.
âI wonât allow Marlene and my mother to tarnish my name and reputation. They wonât succeed in making
me a bad person because I will expose their lies and deceit for the world to see!
âAnother reason Iâm also not that concerned is because, for now, Marlene isnât my target. So Iâm just
going to let her do whatever she wants and have fun with it. Sheâs a pregnant woman, and I donât want
that crazy kid to hurt herself and hurt the baby,â I explained. âFor now, weâll focus on Kayden. Heâs
our main target, and I know you said you want to take everything away from him one by one, but as for
me, I donât just want to take things from him; I also want to make sure he canât get it back.â
Richard stared at me with an amused look on his face. âYou know, I used to think you were only a
pretty face with no ounce of S*xiness, but I was absolutely wrong. The way you just spoke and the
look you had on your faceâthat was the S*xiest youâve ever looked,â he joked, and I threw him a death
glare.
âPlease donât interrupt me with your rubbish, Richard. Iâm in no mood for it,â I responded in a
mockâannoyed tone.
âMy apologies, Amber,â he said. âNow tell me, what is it you have planned?â
I sighed. âI want to get rid of the Black family. Without the Black family, Kayden would be nothing. So, if we want to get rid of him, we need to get rid of them first. His father, Anthony Black is
Kaydenâs biggest support system. He always had Kaydenâs back no matter the terrible things his son
did, and the reason for this is because, just like Kayden, Anthony is also a horrible person.â
âThere was this one time I visited Kaydenâs parents to play the role of a good daughterâinâlaw,
despite the fact that they always made it clear they didnât like me. During my visit, I noticed
Julia, his mother, had way too much makeup on which wasnât normal. So, I kept staring at her to understand why, and that was when I noticed that she had some purple marks behind her makeup,â I
explained.
Richard frowned slightly. âIs it what I think it is?â he asked.

rather be crushed to death by a truck than expose Anthony as a violent man. Unfortunately, I couldnâ
ever get evidence since I didnât think I cared back then, but I know very well what triggers Anthony and makes him mad enough to show what he really is,â I responded.
âBesides hitting his wife. Anthony also cheats on her, and Iâm pretty sure he also hits the other women he sleeps with. Now, what I plan on doing is hiring a S*x workerâsomeone whoâs willing to do
anything for a huge sum of moneyâto have her seduce Anthony and become his lover. Then, when si
gains his trust and he lets his guard down, Iâll have her trigger his anger and get him to show himself.â I said, and Richard immediately frowned.

âYouâll have him hit someone just to get evidence?â he asked.
âI know it sounds horrible; it is horrible, but if I want to rid society of a man like him and also
get rid of Kaydenâs backbone, it has to happen. Itâs called killing two birds with one stone, and donât worry, he only has to hit her once and itâll be done.â I responded, making it clear that I
couldnât care less about the means as long as I would get results.
