Chapter 63
Married To My Ex-Husband’s Rival by Jobet GraySon
Chapter Sixty Three
Amberâs POV.
Sitting in the private lounge of the club, I smiled at the woman in front of me. She was the missing piece in my plan to trap Anthony Black, my ex-father-in-law, whom I hated almost as much as I hated his son. Choosing to meet her at her place of work was a calculated move; it allowed me to observe her and assess whether she was truly the one who could help me.
âI appreciate you meeting me, Miss,â I said. âIâve heard great things about your skills. Thatâs why I wanted to speak to you privatelyâ
She eyed me suspiciously, her guard up as she crossed her arms. âI canât say the same, Miss. Who are you, and why do you think you need my services? Donât tell me youâre here for what Iâm thinking. lady. Is that it?â she questioned, her skepticism evident.
Smiling, I leaned back in my chair, feigning nonchalance. âOh, I know my request might come as a surprise. But trust me, Miss, Iâm not here for what you might be thinking. I assure you, itâs not about that, I replied, my tone sincere.
Her frown deepened. âThen why exactly did you request this private meeting with me? Iâm not sure Iâm the right person for whatever it is youâre looking for. And again, I donât play on that team, so count me out my dear,â she declared.
I chuckled softly, shaking my head. âMiss, youâre really quick to jump to conclusions, arenât you?â I remarked. âI already said Iâm not here for that. I have something else in mind.â
Curiosity flickered in her eyes, her interest piqued despite her initial hesitation. âSo, what is it that youâre looking for, then? Why did you invite me here?â she inquired, her guard still intact.
My smirk grew as I leaned in closer. âBefore I reveal my intentions, why donât you tell me your name?â I suggested, a glimmer of mischief dancing in my eyes.
She frowned, her reluctance evident. âIn my line of work, Iâm known as Candy. Thatâs what you can call me,â she responded.
I shook my head disapprovingly, a hint of disappointment flashing across my features. âNo, Candy. I want your real name, not the stage name.â I insisted, my gaze unwavering.

Candyâs eyes narrowed, her suspicion still lingering. âListen, miss, if you donât start explaining why you invited me here, it call security and have you thrown out,â she threatened.

I maintained my smile as I looked at Candy, knowing that what I was about to propose to her would be met with disbelief and hesitation. But I also knew that the reward I would offer her would make it hard for her to resist. With my plan to bring down Anthony Black in motion, I needed someone experienced, cu nning, and brave enough to take on a dangerous task, and I knew she was perfect.
âI have a job offer for you, Candy,â I began. âBut fair warning, itâs not your typical gig. Itâs going to involve some risks, perhaps even physical harm.â
Candy furrowed her brow in confusion, her eyes searching mine for answers. âWhat are you talking about, lady?â she questioned.
I maintained my smile, trying to put her at ease. âYou heard me loud and clear, Candy,â I replied. âIâm here because I need an experienced woman like you, someone who can charm and seduce an old
man.â
Candy waved her hand dismissively, her expression turning skeptical. âListen, Miss, what I need you to be clear about is the part where you mentioned that the job would involve me getting hit,â she said bluntly.
Nodding solemnly, I met her gaze. âYes, Candy, you heard correctly. What I really want is for you to get hit, I confirmed.
Her eyes widened in shock as she processed my words, obviously taken aback by the request. âAre you out of your mind?â she exclaimed.
Taking a deep breath, I prepared myself to explain. âThe person I want you to seduce has a nasty temper, and unfortunately, he has been known to hit women on occasion,â I revealed. âBut rest assured, Candy, you wonât be alone in this. I just want you to get it on recording so that I can bury the ba sta rd once and for all.â
Candyâs expression shifted from disbelief to an amused smirk. âSo, let me get this straight. You want me to seduce an old man, allow myself to be assaulted by him, and all for the sake of evidence?â
I mirrored her smirk, appreciating her ability to find the twisted humor in the situation. âYes, thatâs exactly it,â I replied.

I maintained my smile. âName your price. Candy. Whatever it is you desire, within reason,â I offered, confident that I could satisfy her desires.
Candyâs amusement turned into thoughtful consideration, her mind playing out the potential consequences and rewards. After a moment, she leaned forward, her eyes locked with mine.
âHow about fifty thousand dollars for starters?â Candy proposed.

I couldnât help but chuckle at Candyâs straightforwardness. She wasted no time in negotiating her
price, throwing out an impressive figure without hesitation.
I also couldnât help but laugh at her audacity, amused by her bluntness. âCandy, I didnât ask you to
kill a man,â I joked.
Candy simply shrugged, a smirk playing on her l*ps. âWell, youâre telling me to get beat up by a man, so I might as well get paid a huge chunk of money,â she replied matter-of-factly.
Her nonchalant attitude only fueled my amusement, and I couldnât help but smile at her. âFair
enough,â I conceded. âHow confident are you that you can get this job done quickly and efficiently?â
âLady, just wait and see. Iâve dealt with worse. Iâve got this,â she assured me, her confidence
evident.

âAlright, Candy. Youâve got yourself a deal,â I replied. âNot just fifty thousand dollars, but a
hundred thousand dollars if you do a good job.â
Candyâs smile grew. âYou wonât be disappointed.â
âGood. Now, Candy, I think itâs only fair that I know your real name,â I stated, my tone serious yet relaxed.
Candy chuckled. âYou may call me Antoinette. Youâve earned the right,â she announced.
âAntoinette it is, then,â I responded with a nod. âBut when you approach him, you must use your real name. He canât know who you really are.â
Rolling her eyes in mock annoyance, Candy scoffed playfully. âMiss, this isnât my first rodeo. I know
how to handle myself,â she retorted. âNow, give me all the necessary details about my target, and youâll have your evidence within a week.â
