Chapter 92
Married To My Ex-Husband’s Rival by Jobet GraySon
Chapter Ninety Two
Richardâs POV.
As I stared at Amber after my sudden confession to her, a nervous tension thrummed through my vein
I didnât expect to bear my feelings to her so abruptly, and the words tumbled out of my mouth in a
rush that left me breathless with vulnerability.
After everything that happened earlier tonight, coupled with the unfamiliar and yet beautiful
emotions I had been experiencing ever since we got here, I knew that I couldnât hold back on how I
felt any longer.
The swirl of emotions that had churned in me since my conversation with Elena had reached a boiling point, and I felt the need to be honest with Amber, overriding any sense of hesitation.
I watched her closely, a knot of anxiety coiling in the pit of my stomach as I waited for her response. Amberâs silence stretched between us, leaving me feeling exposed and raw. I saw the turmoil reflected in her eyes and several unreadable emotions flickering in her eyes as she processed my
words.
For a moment, I held my breath, the tension in the room growing palpable as the seconds ticked by.
She remained still, her gaze locked with mine, and I felt a surge of uncertainty wash over me. Had I misjudged the depth of her feelings? Was it too soon for me to bring this up to her, and was my confession met with indifference or, worse, rejection? The thought sent a pang of unease through me a fear gnawing at the edges of my resolve.
I couldnât help but notice the sheen of tears that glistened in her eyes, an obvious sign of the emotions that swirled in her. My heart clenched at the sight, a wave of protectiveness washing over me as I tried not to let doubt cloud my thoughts.
I had braced myself for the possibility that Amber might not reciprocate my feelings in as much depth, but the fear of rejection still pierced through me like a sharp blade.
âAmberâ¦â I began, âI⦠I didnât mean to spring this on you so suddenly. I understand if you need time to process everything. Just know that⦠that I meant every word I said.â

Her gaze softened, a flicker of
he finally spoke. âRichard, I.. I donât know what to say. This is all just so sudden, and⦠and unexpected.â

I nodded, my heart pounding in my chest as I braced myself for her next words. âI know. I didnât mean
to overwhelm you. I just needed to be honest with you, to tell you how I truly feel,â I confessed.
She sighed, and she seemed to be in her thoughts, which made me feel concerned for her. I didnât want her to think she was under any pressure to reciprocate my feelings, and I was ready to completely
understand if she wasnât in love with me.
âI need you to know that I didnât tell you how I felt to put any pressure on you,â I said. âI donât
expect you to feel the same way I do, and I donât want you to feel like you have to reciprocate my
feelings. I just needed to be honest with you, to let you know how much you mean to me, but itâs not
to make you uncomfortable.â
Amberâs eyes met mine. There was a flicker of understanding in her gaze, and it started to feel like a weight was lifted from my shoulders when her responses remained kind and warm.
Before I could say anything more, I watched as her expression shifted, a sudden wave of emotion washing over her. Tears welled up in her eyes, her composure faltering as she looked up at me with a
mix of vulnerability and uncertainty.
Without a momentâs hesitation, I rose from my seat and moved to sit beside her, my heart aching at
the sight of her tears.
I reached out, gently wiping away the tears that streaked down her cheeks. My touch was light and reassuring. âAmber, itâs okay. Please donât cry,â I murmured, my voice filled with a mix of calmness and concern. âI meant what I said earlier. I want you to take all the time you need to process everything. You donât have to feel bad about how you feel.â
Amberâs sobs subsided slightly, her gaze meeting mine as she spoke, her voice tinged with a hint of emotion. âRichard, I⦠Iâve never had anyone confess their feelings for me so directly before. Itâs just⦠itâs caught me off guard, and Iâm not sure how to respond.â She paused, a tremor in her voice as she continued, âI never expected you to be so honest with me, and itâs making me emotional because⦠because I donât know for sure what it is I feel at the moment.â
I listened intently to her words.
âRichard, I⦠I care about you more than Iâve cared about anyone in a long time,â Amber began. âBut⦠Iâm not sure if I can say that Iâm in love with you. Itâs all just so sudden, and you make me feel things that I never expected to feel again, especially not so soon. I need to take my time because I donât want to fall in and out of love again, Richard. I really donât.â
I nodded slowly, a smile tugging at the corners of my l*ps as I reached out to take her hand in mine. â
Amber, itâs okay. I understand,â I reassured her. âTake all the time you need to figure out your feelings. Iâll be here waiting for you, whenever youâre ready.
Before she could respond, I leaned in, placing a tender k*ss on her l*ps, a silent reassurance of my feelings, and a willingness to accept whatever she felt at the moment. Amber deepened the k*ss, her passion and longing mirroring my own.
After we finally managed to pull away, breathless, I couldnât help but smile at Amber, loving the sense of peace and security being with her always brought me. âBy the way, this is still our honeymoon, babe, and weâre going to enjoy it till the end. Prepare to tick off half your bucket list for the next few days,â I said.
Amber chuckled. âI canât wait.â And with that, she leaned in once again, her l*ps meeting mine with a fervor that matched my own.
