Chapter 5

Part 5

A cliché story❤️🏳️‍🌈

Parker put the car in park in Abby's driveway and got out. Abby and Chester hopped out too and the three made their way to the front door.

"Okay, let's be quiet, if it's here we don't want to alert it" Abby whispered, opening the door as it had been left unlocked. Chester got goosebumps as Abby opened the door.

They split up to check the house. Abby checked downstairs while Parker and Chester checked upstairs.

"Hey, about this morning," Parker started, turning to Chester. Chester hummed in acknowledgment and opened a closet door.

Parker sighed, Chester wasn't going to tell him right now and he didn't want to push the matter to much.

"Should we be recording this? It is good content," Chester asked, looking over at Parker. Parker nodded,

"I'll go get the cameras from the car, go meet Abby in the kitchen by the basement door and I'll meet you guys there," Parker explained. The boys went down the stairs and their separate ways.

Chester walked to the kitchen and saw Abby.

"Downstairs is clear, what about upstairs?" She asked. Chester informed her that it was clear and that Parker had gone to get the cameras.

"Okay, im here," Parker's voice rang out behind them as he came in with the cameras. He had two and handed one to Abby while holding the other one.

Abby opened the basement door and Chester's blood ran cold. There in front of him was the stairs from his nightmare.

Chester took at step back as tears swelled up in his eyes.

"Chester?" Parker questioned, looking at him as he panicked.

"This. I. This is. Parker." Chester muttered, reaching for Parker without taking his eyes off the stairs in fear of something happening.

Parker realized Chester was crying.

"Chester! Dude are you okay?!" Parker questioned, coming to his side to comfort him. Chester hugged Parker tightly, catching Parker off guard.

"It. The stairs. Nightmare." Was all Chester could muster, but it was enough for Parker to understand that it had something to do with his nightmare and was upsetting.

"Chester, look at me, I'm right here, you're going to be okay," Parker assured, softly pulling Chester's face to look at him. Chester would have been flustered if he wasn't so scared.

Chester took a few deep breaths and closed his eyes. Parker hugged Chester back. Abby quietly watched and recorded them, she knew they wouldn't put it in the video but she wanted them to see it again later while editing.

After a few minutes, Chester had calmed down and was ready to go down to the basement.

"I'm right here," Parker stated again before they all entered the basement. Abby went down first, as she knew the layout, then Parker, and finally, Chester.

They descended the stairs and with every step, Chester became more uneasy. Luckily, he saw no blood on any of the steps.

Finally, they reached the bottom of the stairs.

"Abby, if it did hide your family, where do you think it would do so? I don't see anything in here," Parker noted, looking at the empty room.

"In here, it is the only room down here," Abby stated, pointing at a door that blended into the wall so well Parker hadn't seen it at first.

They all entered and what they saw made Abby break down and Chester almost vomit.

The dead, bloody, decaying bodies of Abby's parents.

"Holy shit," Parker muttered under his breath.

Chester grabbed Parker's sleeve and covered his mouth. The stench made him feel sick and watching Abby sobbing on her knees didn't make it any better.

"Abby.. I'm so sorry." Parker whispered, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Chester~" hissed the voice from Chester's dream. Chester frantically looked around, the other's didn't seem to hear it.

"Parker. We should go. Something is wrong." Chester stated, tugging on Parker's sleeve.

"One second Chester, just, relax" Parker replied, not looking up from Abby.

Chester continued looking around the room in panic. Hopefully the thing wasn't actually here and it was just his imagination.

"P-Parker..." Chester whispered almost inaudibly as his eyes locked on a face under the stairs. He began shaking with fear and Parker noticed.

"What?" Parked asked, turning to look at Chester. He followed his line of sight and his heart dropped as he spotted the face of the creature. The thing glared out at them with a huge grin.

"Abby, we have to go." Parker stated, not taking his eyes of the beast. Abby looked up and saw what the boys were so frightened of. She was frightened too.

Abby immediately jumped up and bolted for the stairs, Parker right behind her. But Chester didn't run. He was paralyzed with fear.

"CHESTER!" Parker shrieked as he watched the monster come out from under the stairs and slowly begin crawling towards his frozen friend.

Abby held the door open while Parker ran down the stairs back to where Chester was standing.

"LETS GO DUDE!" Parker yelled, grabbing Chester by the hand and yanking him towards the stairs. This snapped Chester out of his state of paralysis and he started running as well, not letting go of Parker's hand of course.

The creature let out an spine chilling roar and began sprinting towards them.

Parker managed to pull Chester up the stairs and through the door in time for Abby to slam the door in the monster's face.

The three ran as fast as they could as the creature tore through the old wooden door.

Chester looked back to see the beast now trampling towards them at an alarming speed.

"Shit, shit, shit," Chester thought out loud, gripping Parker's hand tighter and picking up the pace.

They made it out the front door and Chester stopped to close the door. But he was too late.

The monster rammed into the door before Chester could get it fully closed, which sent Chester flying across the yard. He landed on his back, knocking the breath out of him.

Parker instinctively ran to Chester's side as Abby made her run for the car. Parker picked Chester up bridal style and booked it towards the car as well.

Without hesitation, Parker tossed Chester into the passenger seat, Abby hopped in the back, and Parker got in driver seat.

However, before Parker could hit the gas, the creature sped towards them and grabbed the car with it's long, thin hands.

Abby and Parker screamed (not Chester, he can still barely breath) as the car was flung into the air and across the street into the woods.

Parker held onto the steering wheel while Abby and Chester held onto their oh-shit handles as the car crashed through trees and eventually came to a stop on its right side in a ditch in the woods.

"Is everyone okay?" Parker asked quietly. Abby gave a thumbs up as she coughed because of all the dirt that had clouded in the car.

"Chester?" Parker questioned as he hadn't gotten a response. Chester was passed out, laying in the dirt and broken glass from the passenger side window.

"Chester!" Parker raised his voice as his concern raised as well.

He climbed down to check Chester's pulse and let out a sigh of relief as he still had one.

Parker picked Chester up and climbed out of the car, Abby climbing out too.

They walked away from the car, if that thing was looking for them, being near the car wasn't the best idea.

"Is he going to be okay?" Abby asked quietly, looking from Parker to Chester.

"Hopefully, but we have to get him somewhere safe," Parker said, sitting Chester against a tree. His heart dropped when he realized that the arm he had been holding Chester's back with was covered in blood.

"Shit!" Parker muttered under his breath as he turned Chester around to see his shirt torn up and his back covered in small cuts from the glass.

Abby turned away, she couldn't stand the sight of any more blood today.

Parker sighed and took off his hoodie. He pulled Chester's torn shirt off to put his hoodie on him but paused.

"I didn't realize he was so.. no. He is your friend, stop" Parker thought, shaking his head and putting his hoodie on Chester before picking him up again.

"We better get moving if we want to get to town to get him patched up," Parker stated, beginning to walk again. Abby followed and the two started the long walk to town.
