Y/N POV
I felt like I was about to throw up. I had been sitting in this waiting room, rehearsing my lines to myself while trying not to let my anxiety get the best of me for the last 4 hours. It was finally my turn to go in and show the casting directors who Y/N Y/L/N is.
I almost didn't want to go in. What if I fucked it up? What if they already found someone they want? What if I'm too ugly?
"Y/N Y/L/N?" The stage manager called from the audition room doorway. "H-hi!" I squeaked, raising my hand.
She smiled at me. "You're up! You can leave your bag out here with me." I handed her my purse and flashed her a nervous smile.
"Don't worry, you're going to be great." She smiled warmly at me and opened the door. "Thank you." I said back shakily. I took a deep breath before I entered the room.
I went to the marked spot on the floor and looked to the people behind the table. My breath caught in my throat when I saw her.
FUCK! I didn't know she was going to be here! OH MY GOD SHE IS SO HOT! I WOULD LOVE FOR HER TO PUSH ME AGAINST A WALL AN-FOCUS Y/N!
So many thoughts were going through my head which was moving a mile a minute. I hadn't even realized I had been starring until Blake said something. "Good afternoon. You must be Y/N." I slowly nodded, not being able to comprehend what the goddess in front of me was saying.
She chuckled and her eyes twinkled. "It's very nice to meet you. I'm Blake, and this is our director, Paul." The man next to her smiled and waved.
"H-hello." I cursed myself for stuttering and could feel my face flush. Blake had a small smirk on her face.
"So hopefully you were given the script by your agent?" I nodded again. "Great. We will read pages 32-37 and I'll be your scene partner. After that we will probably ask you some questions. Sound good?" I nodded once more, afraid that if I tried to speak, I would just be a mess.
Blake said her first line and I noticed she was just reading it and not acting it. I had been taught in acting school that this was something scene partners at auditions often did because it allowed the casting directors to determine if a person was still able to deliver a great performance, even if they did't have the support of their scene partner.
"Whats the wildest thing you have ever done?" Blake asks, reading from the script.
I looked down at my own. "You go first."
"Okay um, a few months ago Shawn and I had his TA over for dinner, and drinks, and a threesome."
My eyes widened at the words that had just come out of her mouth. Sure, I had read the script before and new the line was coming, but I had no idea it would sound so hot when Blake said it! Well, I mean, everything Blake says is hot. But still. I tried to regain my composure, but I was sure my face was burning.
I was able to pull it together though and deliver my next line. "Well was Shawn Jealous of him?"
"Did I say it was a him?" Blake asked, looking up from her script to meet my gaze, a glint of something I couldn't quite pin point evident in her eye.
I felt myself shiver a little and couldn't stop the smile from forming on my face when she said that line.
"That's very cool sis, very cool" I said, doing this weird wink thing. Blake and Paul laughed, so I assumed maybe I wasn't totally fucking this up.
"Y'okay?" Blake asked.
"Yeah!"
"I don't mean to freak you out."
"Hello, I'm not freaked out, maybe you're freaked out. I'm not freaked out, I'm cool. I'm lizzy fair."
"Okay, Lizzy fair." I was loving the way Blake said these lines. They flowed from her with ease and it all just sounded so natural. I could hear the amusement in her voice and it made me smile.
"I mean, you're not exactly a sexual maverick, and that's fine, you know, prudes are people too. I wanna know your secret. Tell me." I sensed a bit of suggestiveness behind Blake's tone and I would be lying if I said it didn't turn me on.
I took a few calming breaths before I started my line, trying my hardest to just focus on the scene and to stop getting distracted by Blake.
"My dad died when I was a senior in high school. And..this boy showed up to the funeral. His name was Chris. And..I guess...he was the spitting image of my father, 30 years younger. My mom thought she saw a ghost. And it turned out he was my half brother."
"That-that's your whole secret? That your dad had an afair?" Blake asked, interrupting my character's story.
"Nooo." I said, a little bit of sass behind my tone. Blake chuckled. "Okay can you just tell me your secret, come on. Spill it dark side."
"So Chris, it was too late for him to drive home, so he stayed over. We stayed up all night talking and my dad was- my dad was really the person who understood me, and he was gone. So I was alone alone for the first time. But he sees me? You know? He really sees me. And we just stared at each other for the longest time." I took a long pause to catch my breath. I felt tears start to prick the corner of my eyes, but I ignored them.
"You can't be too drunk in my house not to finish the story, what happened?" Blake said.
"I-y-yeah..uuhh okay..so I don't know, maybe it's not so reasy where you're from-"
"Stop avoiding, tell me what happened." Blake's voice took a commanding tone to it, and once again, I found myself feeling very turned on. I pushed it to the back of my head though, so I could finish the scene.
"We stood there for the longest time. So I went in to hug him and...we kissed. I know..it's so gross."
"The end?" Blake asked curiously.
"Yeah-yeah." I hurriedly said.
"You just kissed?"
"Yeah we kissed."
"You just kissed y-your-your brother...?"
"Ehhhyeah it's so..uggh it's my half brother, it's not my brother-"
"It's your half brother though.."
"It-ma-it-itjsfn.." I was making random noises, trying to form any kind of sentence I could, but my character was drunk and talking to a very attractive woman, so there wasn't really much I could do.
"Yeah there's more." Blake said.
"N-no."
"Mhm."
"No-there's no more."
"No-no, yeah. There is."
"N-"
"You fucked him."
"WHAT!?" I said, trying to act surprised even though I was caught in a lie.
"Was he good?" Blake continued to have a very calm, confident demeanor while I seemed to be a stuttering mess.
"That is so distgusting..I don't know.."
"Oh you didn't fuck him?"
"I don't-"
"Tell me you didn't fuck him."
"I don't know what goes on in your-"
"Swear"
"I swear." It felt like I was more trying to convince myself rather than her.
"Swear on your dad's grave." Blake said, interrupting my train of thought.
The whole room seemed to go silent.
"I-" I kept shaking my head, trying to think of anything to say.
"Oh. My. God." Blake said quietly, a wide, surprised smile on her face.
"Don't" I said, not wanting to deal with the truth. "YOU'RE A BROTHER FUCKER!" She said loudly.
She laughed loudly. "This is good." I said dejectedly, just watching the woman in front of me as she digested the news.
"Oh my god." She said, covering her mouth with her hand in shock. I could still see the smile on her face.
"I shouldn't have even said anything."
"I got a brother fucker taking care of my kid." She said, over my line.
"Brother fucker." She said slowly while looking at me in astonishment.
"You know what...I don't know, it's these stupid martinis." I slurred.
"Hey brother fucker do you want to stay for dinner?"
"I shouldn't have even said anything...Yeah! I do, want to stay for dinner. That'd be lovley."
"I can't wait to see you cook."
Blake said her last line and I took another deep breath, exiting the mind of the character.
"That was wonderful!" Paul said, a huge smile on his face. My eyes widened and my own face broke out into a grin. "How did that feel Y/N?" He asked.
I felt a bit uncomfortable feeling both eyes on me now that it was just me, and not me playing a character. "Uh..I-uh it felt really good. I felt very present and connected to not only my own character, but Ms. Livley's as well."
Blake chuckled. "Oh honey, call me Blake." She smirked at me and I blushed and smiled, nodding my head slightly. "Yeah, I felt the connection to. There is chemistry here. Blake, what about you, how do you feel?"
My palms began to sweat and my heart rate sped up as I waited in anticipation for Blake's response. The blonde in question turned her gaze from Paul to me, a warm smile gracing her lips.
"I loved it. I felt the connection, I felt your presence. None of it seemed forced, which I really like. Yeah, I though it was amazing." Her eyes never left my own as she said this and I had to stop myself from jumping for joy.
"Thank you." I quietly mumbled.
"Okay Y/N, we just have a few questions for you, then you are free to go."
I nodded.
"So, how long have you been working as a screen actress?" Paul asked, looking over my resume. "I have been in a lot of different shows and movies since I was 20. I played minor characters and things like that. When I was in film school I was apart of a bunch of different student films and other projects. So, I'd have to say about 5 years?" Paul nodded.
"Wonderful, and it says here you went to Yale university for acting and directing?" Paul asked, squinting as he read the paper.
"Yeah um I had heard they have an amazing film program and really wanted to be apart of it."
"Wonderful."
"Ms. Livley do you have any questions or comments?"
"Really the only thing I have to say at this time is, wonderful job, and be on the look out for a call from the studio very soon."
