CHapter 108
The Killer Queen
Chapter 108
Beckett had been chatting with Noella, answering her questions about what he had been up to.
Noella was puzzled when she heard that Zachary had driven himself to Linefort City.
âHow did the cameras capture Zachary driving himself if he was knocked out?â
Beckett explained, âElara tampered with the footage. She replaced the surveillance video from that day with an old one of Zachary driving to Linefort City.â
âAnd what about the arrest?â
Even though the mountains were Beckettâs private property, getting Vincent and Zachary convicted would be challenging.
âJasper turned those mountains into a nature reserve. Trespassing and looting are serious offenses there, along with vandalism. It should be enough to charge them. Stirling installed lots of cameras, and we have regular patrols. The evidence is solid.â
So, the whole Schnabel family was involved in this?
Noellaâs lips curled into a warm smile. âThanks, Beckett, and thanks to the others. This may seem trivial, but I appreciate you all taking the time.â
âNo matter is too small when it comes to you,â Beckett said earnestly. âI know you got used to handling things on your own at the Lambert family, but now you have us, reliable family. Youâre the baby of our family, and you have every right to be a little spoiled.â
Ulrich leaned against the doorway of the office, sighing and holding his forehead. âJust a moment ago, I was saying Beckett would never sell us out, and now he just threw us under the
bus.â
â
He didnât look the least bit resentful, though. In fact, his gaze towards Noella was filled with
tenderness.
Beckett, on the other end of the line, asked, âNoella, is Mr. Pollack with you?â
Noella glanced at Palmer by her side, nodded, and handed her phone to him.
Beckett didnât beat around the bush. âYvonne contacted an overseas account. I think itâs connected to the person who supplied her with those Nourishment Pills.â
âIâm on it. Iâve got people tracking it,â Palmer replied.
The Pollack Group was already monitoring all outgoing calls made by Yvonne.
She mostly chatted with girlfriends and occasionally attended social gatherings. There seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary.
âIâll have my people on it too. Is Ulrich there?â
Palmer looked at Ulrich standing at the door and turned on the speakerphone. âSince youâre

there, you can go and keep an eye on Yvonne.â
Ulrich nearly blew his top!
Why should he do this kind of thing? He wanted to spend time with Noella tool
âBeckett, weâre not short on people. Why do I have to watch her? Iâm busy, you know!â
Beckett had always been stern with his brothers. âIâve seen your surgery schedule; youâre free for the next three days.â
âBut Iâve already made plans to take Noella out!â
He was busy every day, hardly having any free time. Finally, he managed to squeeze out some time to spend with Noella. He had already planned where they would go as well!
Beckett was relentless. âThe Nourishment Pill is crucial; it nearly compromised our grandfatherâs safety. Youâre a doctor; it makes sense for you to handle this.â
How did it make sense?
However, Beckett, as the eldest brother, held a prominent position within the Schnabel family. After Tristan Schnabel devoted himself entirely to charity, the Schnabel familyâs children mainly listened to Beckettâs words. He naturally wielded authority over his younger siblings.
Ulrich looked dejected, as if he had a tail that was drooping. âFine, Iâll do it.â
After ending the call, Ulrich gazed at Noella with a somber expression. âNoella, Iâve got to go!â
Noella chuckled at his dramatics. âNext time youâre off, Iâll go out with you.â
Ulrichâs eyes lit up. His little sister really was the best!
Before leaving, Ulrich instructed Palmer to take good care of Noella. âMr. Pollack, I rushed out without my team. Mind if I borrow your secretary for a couple of days? Iâll return her soon.â
Palmer gave him a nonchalant look. âIf she agrees, I have no objections.â
Annie was highly competent, and Ulrich was getting himself a valuable assistant.
With that, Ulrich left on his mission reluctantly.

At the local Linefort City police station, Zachary was utterly shocked as he watched the surveillance footage.
He was indeed driving himself to Linefort City!
How was that possible?
Vincent sneered, âSeems like someoneâs brain has cancer, forgetting even something as big as this.â
Zachary was truly bewildered. He had no memory of it whatsoever!

Chapter 108
Members of the Fuller family sat on the other side, anxiously eyeing Vincent,
Belinda whispered. âHoney, if thereâs anything you want to discuss, letâs do it at home. The important thing now is to get out of hereâ¦â
Vincent was furious at the sight of them. âHome? So you can keep stealing my money to support your family? Over my dead body!â
Vincent scolded her in front of the Rosenberg family, leaving Belinda embarrassed.
âWhat do you mean by that? âStealing your moneyâ? Whatâs mine is yours!â
Vincent slammed the table in anger, wincing in pain. âFor years Iâve been in the dark about these expenses. You all have to pay me back! Iâm telling you, Iâm sick now, and I need that money to save my life. If you donât give it back, Iâll divorce you!â
Belinda looked at him in disbelief. He was actually suggesting divorce?
âHave you lost your mind? Weâve been married for years, and you want to divorce me over some chump change?â
Vincent was livid, to the point of feeling his blood boil. âChump change? Do you even remember how much dough youâve handed over to the Fullers? Itâs no small sum!â
The mere mention of paying back the money sent the Fullers into a frenzy. The cash Vincent gave them had been splurged on building their son a new house and funding his big fat wedding. What was left had been swallowed up by the grandkidsâ tuition fees. And heavens, theyâd need even more for the grandkidsâ future weddings!
The Fullers were flat broke and still counting on Belinda to keep the money flowing. Paying it back wasnât even in the realm of possibility.
âWhat proof do you have that you didnât know about all this spending? Why should we pay you back? Isnât supporting the elderly part of your duty?â
âSupporting the elderly doesnât mean bankrolling your whole family!â Just thinking about the cash heâd forked over through the years made Vincentâs heart ache. That was his hardâearned money!
âIf you donât pay up, Iâm taking you to court!â he threatened.
Belindaâs father Malcom Fuller squinted his eyes, scheming. âYou want your money back, fine. Youâve got two daughters. Marry off the one who isnât even your flesh and blood into our family. Weâll take her as a bride for our grandson. Itâs all in the family then, right?â
Heâd saved up for his grandsonâs future wedding, but if they could tie him to Vincentâs adopted daughter, they wouldnât have to cough up a wedding gift.
Thinking about it, it was a winâwin for the Fullers, and theyâd score a pretty bride to boot.
Vincent scowled, âYou mean Noella? No way, she wonât even pick up my calls, and you dream of marrying her into your family? Dream on!â

Belinda nudged Vincent. âItâs for Noellaâs own good. We all know each other, and we certainly donât look down on her. Arenât you sick? She could marry into our family and then get your connected with the Schnabel family doctor. She wouldnât dare defy her inâlaws.â
Vincentâs eyes gleamed at the thought.
