CHapter 233
The Killer Queen
Chapter 233
The Schnabel family had a fall share of honnies and housekeepers, with a rotating crew just to manage the kitchen. Beckett, who was rarely home, couldnât quite place the name at first;
1 remember now, she was initially brought in by Ashlyn because her cooking suits her taste And sheâs been with us ever since.â
Since Ashlyn and Marcel had divorced, and she wasnât their biological grandmother, it wasnât quite right to keep calling Ashlyn âGrandmaâ
Noelia nodded, getting the gist of who Queenie was
Beckett thought for a moment. âI believe she hails from the same hometown as Ashlyn; they were even neighbors back in the day. Sheâs been with our family for years, taking care of Mom after she gave birth to us. What about her?â
Noella didnât keep Beckett in the dark
1 think thereâs something off about her, so I checked her phone records. Sheâs constantly in touch with Yvonne, and sheâs been filming videos of our house and sending them out. Sheâs even got a bunch of followers on social mediaâ
Queenie had taken the unconventional route of sharing snippets of her life working for the Schnabels on social media and had amassed quite a following!
âFilming is not allowed in the Schnabel family. Also, Iâve noticed some large transactions in her bank account. I looked through her online marketplace profile, and sheâs been selling our stuff,â
Beckett was floored.
Queenie had not only filmed and exposed the privacy of their family but was also secretly selling their items on secondâhand platforms?
Noella handed her phone to Beckett. There are so many things in our homes that itâs easy to lose track. Momâs forgotten about a lot of them, and thatâs how Queenieâs been able to sell them.â
Items from the Schnabels were pricey, often unique and unavailable for purchase elsewhere, which Queenie sold at halfâprice, quickly finding buyers. Whether it was Siennaâs designer bags, clothes, shoes, or even the familyâs bonsai trees, garden stones, and kitchenware, everything was listed online.
Beckett was shocked. Thatâs from my study! The vintage leather briefcase Grandpa Merrick gave now Queenie has sold it!â
I never a
got around to using it, and
The leather briefcase, a gift from Merrick Horwich, was worth a small fortune, and Queenie had snapped it up for a mere thousand. A thousand wouldnât even cover the cost of the briefcaseâs replacement strap!
Noella opened Queenieâs social media account. Almost daily. Queenie posted sneak peeks of the Schnabel family from her perspective. showcasing her mundane work life. This approach had earned Queenie a significant online following, with Sienna and Tristanâs faces even appearing in some of her clips.
Grinding his teeth, Beckett said, âFilming is not allowed in our house, and itâs stipulated in the contracts. With these videos, we can demand compensation! Noella, donât worry, I will handle this. Come on, letâs go down to eat.â
Noella followed Beckett into the living room, where Sienna was discussing the menu with Queenie.
âQueenie, serve these dishes by Noella, and place these platters near Beckettâtheyâre his favorites.â
âSure thing, maâam.â
âI got a set of porcelain dinnerware last time. Bring it out tomorrow; itâll match my outfit.â
Hearing about the porcelain dinnerware, Noella raised an eyebrow.
Queenieâs hand visibly trembled
That very set of porcelain had been sold by Queenie just yesterday for twentyâfive hundred, and soon it would become a prized possession in someone elseâs display cabinet.
Queenie, unfazed, nodded in agreement to Siennaâs request
Clearly, Queenie was a seasoned hand.
Noella, keeping her composure, said, âMom, Td love to see that porcelain dinnerware too. Why donât we use it today? Your outfit today would go perfectly with itâ
Sienna, clad in a traditional dress, exuded classical elegance. Her every gesture was filled with grace, indeed fitting for fine porcelain
At her daughterâs request, Sienna beamed and agreed. âOf course, anything you say, dear Queenie, didnât you hear Noella? Hurry and change them.â

Chapter 233
Queenie was practically grinding her teeth in frustration
What was Ms. Noella playing at? Who changes dinnerware right before the meal? It would ruin the foodâs tastel Besides, she had already shipped the real dinnerware off. The knockoff sheâd ordered online hadnât arrived yet she had nothing to show!
âMaam, the foodâs already on the table. Changing now might make the gentlemen wait for their meal.â
Using the gentlemen as a shield, surely they wouldnât insist on bringing out the dinnerware now?
Marcel waved dismissively, glancing over his newspaper. âIf Noella wants new dinnerware, then change it. Itâs not often she asks for something, and we should indulge her!â
Sexton agreed wholeheartedly. His granddaughterâinâlaw was such a gemâsmart, beautiful, and considerate. Too considerate, in fact, a clear sign of Harrietâs fine upbringing. They were more than willing to fulfill any request Noella had. After all, it was just a matter of changing dinnerware. She wasnât asking for the moon, so why not please her?
Queenie felt like she was about to fain!!
Only she knew that the cupboard was emptyâthat set of dinnerware didnât exist. And now, with Sienna requesting it, where on earth would she get it from?
âMaâam, Iâve sent the dinnerware out for a polish. It wonât be back until tomorrow.â
Noella glanced up at Queenie, a puzzled frown knitting her brows. âBut I thought our dinnerware was already sparkling when it arrived. Why send it out again?â
âOh, you see, Ms. Noella, the Schnabels arenât just any family. When it comes to dining, we have certain standards to uphold. Since youâve taken an interest in that particular set, Ill make sure itâs delivered to us posthaste tomorrow.â
The comer of Noellaâs mouth twitched into a sardonic smile. Is that so? Iâm just worried that you, dear Queenie, wonât be able to lay your hands on that set at all, considering it might already be halfway to Linefort City with the way shipping and logistics are these days.â
Queenieâs eyes widened in shock, her gaze fixed on Noella.
How on earth did Noella know she had sold the dinnerware to a buyer in that city?
Sienna, looking confused, chimed in, âNoella, what are you talking about? Whatâs happened to the dinnerware?â
Noella shot a glance at Queenie. âThat set has been sold by our very own Queenie.
Panic flickered in Queenieâs eyes as she began to bluster. âMs. Noella, you canât just slander me like that! Without proof, how can you accuse me of such a thing? Iâve been a part of the Schnabel family even longer than you!â
Proof, as it happened, was something Noella had in spades. She handed her phone to Sienna, displaying a page filled with Queenieâs recent successful sales of second hand treasures.
Siennaâs eyes immediately recognized several items.
âMy pearl necklace that Iâve been searching for high and low! You just up and sold it? We have been nothing but good to you! How could we have nurtured such an ingrate!â
