CHapter 57
The Killer Queen
Chapter 57
The whole Lunar Lab members were steamed about Belinda and Vincent for what they used to treat Noella.
When Noella was an infant, It was actually the Belindaâs parents from the Fuller family who were taking care of her. But then old Mrs. Lambert came to see her granddaughter and found. out they were dissing her for being a girl, only willing to feed her plain water â Noella nearly didnât make it!
If old Mrs. Lambert hadnât swooped in and taken care of her, dotting every âIâ and crossing every ât. there would be no way theyâd have such a kickâass and beautiful boss now.
Did the Fuller family really think kids grow up on dew or something?
Noellaâs moves became so slick because she used to scrap with bears in the backwoods and deep forests as a kid!
And yet, Briony was always kept close by their side, under the pretense that Belinda needed a nanny. Now the Fuller family had their eyes on old Mrs. Lambertâs grave, planning to snatch it away!
âBoss, what on earth is Belinda thinking? Itâs not like she can do anything with that grave!â
Noella frowned and asked, âArenât the Fuller parents still alive?â
âThatâs just it. They say itâs a plot theyâre eyeing for themselves, thinking old Mrs. Lambertâs got a jackpot and they want to be buried there when they kick the bucket!â
What a bunch of jokers this family is, squabbling with the dead over a piece of land.
âTell Vincent that spot is a onceâinâaâcentury find, that their descendants are sure to strike it rich if they get it.â
Alkaid nodded, grinding his teeth in frustration.
âI bet even if we tell Vincent, heâll still get sweetâtalked by Belinda. What if they really mess with the grave?â
Noella sighed, her delicate brows knitting together slightly.
âDonât worry, if they dare touch Grandmaâs grave, Iâll make them regret it.â
Alkaid breathed a sigh of relief with Noellaâs word, he could rest easy.
Back in the office, Beckett had pulled up all of Yvonneâs school records, including every instance of her having someone else attend classes and take exams on her behalf.
âWhat does the school want to do about it?â he asked the director.
The director hesitated for a moment but then answered honestly, âRepeat the year, retake all

subjects, record a major demerit, issue a probation warning, and if the retakes fail, expulsionâ¦â Beckett nodded and said, âGo by the book. Make sure all teachers call Yvonneâs name during roll call. Iâll donate some equipment to the school, and from now on, attendance checks are gonna be done with facial recognition.â
The director was over the moon!
What a brilliant idea!
Noella walked in just in time to hear this and couldnât help cringing.
She thought, if Beckett actually goes through with this, I bet the whole MediCore University student body would be sticking pins in voodoo dolls of him.
âBeckett, thatâs like tearing someone elseâs umbrella because youâre getting wet.â
Beckett just smiled, a graceful curve on his lips.
The director disagreed, âMiss Schnabel, our school is MediCore University, after all. Serious study now means fewer mistakes on the operating table later, and more precise lab data. Itâs only the literature majors we allow skipping class now and then.â
Noella nodded, realizing MediCore University had strict standards and knew how to teach according to studentsâ needs.
âIf you are interested, please consider our school!â
âI will.â
After sorting out Yvonneâs business, Beckett walked Noella out of the school.
âNoella, you seemed down after that phone call. Wanna tell me why? Of course, itâs cool if youâd rather not!â
Originally, she didnât want to bother her family with the Lambert family drama, but then seeing Milford, she realized Beckett was already on top of things, even sorting stuff out without her knowing!
Beckett gently patted Noellaâs hair and said, âDonât worry, itâs normal for girls to have stuff on their minds. Is that Palmer kid giving you trouble? Tell me, and Iâll sort him out!â
Noella was like, what does this have to do with Palmer?
After hesitating, she told Beckett about what had happened and her concerns.
Beckett got it and knew how close Noella was to old Mrs. Lambert â that without her, there would be no Noella today. The Schnabel family owed her one!
âNoella, Iâll find a better place for old Mrs. Lambertâs grave. Maybe she wants to be closer to you, right? Iâll relocate her to Imperial City, buy the Lambert ancestral home, so no one can disturb her peace, making it
easy for you to visit. If she were still around, weâd all owe her our thanks. She raised you so well! Iâll get on it, donât worry. Even though youâre back with the
Schnabels, she will always be your grandma!â
Noella was beautiful gentle, strong, and sensible the best sister in the world! And none of this had anything to do with Vincent and his wife.
Noella originally arranged old Mrs. Lambertâs grave near the family home because she wanted to go back there in her final days.
Maybe, like Beckett said, Grandma really wanted to stay with her.
âAlright, thanks. Beckett.â
Meanwhile, MediCore Universityâs admin office was ringing Yvonneâs cell.
When Yvonne heard the schoolâs verdict, she was about to lose her marbles.
Probation? If the Schnabel family gets wind of this, sheâs gonna catch hell!
âWhat? Are you guys out of your minds? Just because someone took a test for me, itâs such a big deal? Do you know who my grandpa is?â
The director replied coolly. âWeâve already reported to your grandfather, and he fully supports the schoolâs decision.â
Yvonne was speechless. Didnât she just tell Marcel yesterday that she was the one being picked on? What the heck was going on!
D
Yvonne did not want to waste another year at school, attending classes with a bunch of broke college students was just plain dumb. Sheâd rather spend her time getting dolled up and hanging out with her girlfriends â those were the real connections!
After hanging up the phone, Yvonne hurriedly made plans to dash to the hospital to get Marcel to put in a good word for her.
If Marcel was willing to call the president, nobody would dare to follow up on this matter.
âAnika, whereâs the driver?â
âMiss Yvonne, the driver has been sent out by the madam to pick up a delivery,â
Sienna has her own personal driver, so why was she hogging others too?
âWhat kind of delivery needs so many people?â
Could it be that Sienna finally realized Yvonneâs birthday was coming up and was sending her a birthday present?
âItâs Crystal.â
Crystal! It must be that piece she had her eye on last month!
Yvonne had been dying to get a piece of crystal for a bracelet and earrings, it would totally suit her style. She hadnât expected that the piece from the auction was secretly bought by Sienna to! surprise her. If Sienna agreed, she didnât really care about going to university: she could just

buy a degree.
The more Yvonne thought about it, the more excited she got!
âDid they say what itâs for?â
âThey said itâs to redo the bathroom floor for Noella, the current flooring doesnât match the
decor.â
Redoing Noellaâs bathroom floor? For real?
âNoella hardly ever stays here, right?â
She owns the penthouse at Serene Haven, why bother redoing the room here?
âThe madam said itâs all for Noellaâs home, and since she isnât staying here these days, sheâs planning to revamp the decor for her.â
Yvonne nearly choked.
Yvonne scolded inwardly. âWhy the heck does the Schnabel family pamper Noella so much? That country bumpkin really doesnât know the value of things. Doesnât she feel like a nouveau riche using such precious crystal for flooring?â
âForget it, Iâll take a cab! Seeing Grandpa is more important right now.â
Itâs several miles from the Schnabel Manor to a place where youâre allowed to hail a cab. After all, everyone living in the same neighborhood as the Schnabel family has their own cars, and taxis arenât even allowed in.
Yvonne walked to the gate, her ankles rubbed raw with blisters, hurting so much that she was grimacing in pain.
A car pulled up in front of her, and the man inside with a scar on his face rolled down the window, his sinister gaze falling on her.
âMiss, where to?â
Yvonne, not paying much attention, hopped in, âImperial West Hospital. Step on it!â
The driver tugged at his baseball cap, shadowing his face.
âDonât worry. Iâll make sure you get where you need to go.â
âWhat do you mean? I said Imperial West Hospital. Donât you understand?â
Yvonne started to feel uneasy; this guy looked shady all over, not some creep drawn to her beauty, right?
