"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on."
â Robert Frost
WATERWAVE PACK- FIVE YEARS LATER,
Everett stopped jogging the moment he spotted Templar, sitting under the rocks and meditating. She was not alone though!
A sturdy little toddler was sitting on her lap.
They had named him Elroy but everyone called him Roy. Three-year-old Roy was a rumbustious and a determined little boy, who loved to roar noisily with uninhibited temper when things didn't go his way. Right now, he was sitting in his mother's lap, exactly the same way she does.
Everett's hear beat soared in his chest as he watched his mate and son together. Each and every passing day he loved them more and more. His wolf sighed in contentment and retreated happily. Removing his ear phones, he made his way towards them. He knew that Templar couldn't concentrate when Roy was sitting on her lap.
His lips curved to form a smile when he watched Roy, who sneakily flicked open his big blue eyes. Tilting his head backwards, he looked at his mother and when he noticed that she still had her eyes closed, he pouted and then sat straight.
"Dad" he shouted the moment he spotted Everett. He could never get tired of hearing his son call him that. Scrambling from his mother's lap, the toddler let his little legs carry him towards his father.
Everett scooped Roy up, closing both arms around his tiny frame and chuckled when he heard his son laughing excitedly. Roy planted a big soppy kiss on his father's cheeks.
"Mum" Roy said pointing at Templar.
"Later.... We will go have breakfast first" Everett informed lowering Roy to the ground and then walked to their house.
The first thing Templar saw when she opened her eyes was the wide ocean. The sun sparkled on the water and the unending rhythm of the waves was comforting. She inhaled, taking in the salty scent in the air and then exhaled. The heat of the sun made her feel warm.
Standing up, she stared at the moon that was still visible in the clear morning sky. Raising her hand high and bending backwards, she stretched to let her cramped bones crack.
Templar had started mediating everyday now. It is just to control her emotions... especially her anger. It had improved a lot since the past five years, but it is still displayed occasionally. Especially when someone does some offence and aren't even ashamed of it. Like every bad habit, it doesn't stop overnight but slowly she is learning to control her volatile temper.
As she entered the house, the first thing she spotted was her mate and her son, who were having their breakfast. They were both showered and dressed.
"Mum.... Mrs. Ho made scrambled eggs" her son, Elroy grinned proudly holding his plate up, once Mrs. Ho, the chef, served him.
When Templar discovered that she was pregnant, she was very fretful for it was not planned. The bitter memories of what happened the first time were roused and she felt incapable. But with the wonderful support of her mate, who was there for her all the time, she had no problems during her pregnancy. Elroy, the light of her life- obviously after her mate- was born without any fuss.
He had his mother's dark brown hair and his father's peach skin and pacific blue eyes. He was christened Elroy following the Green's family tradition where all sons name began with the letter E. Three months on, they started calling him Roy.
"Yummy" Templar said sitting beside Roy. "Thanks Mrs. Ho" she then said to their middle-aged chef, who smiled warmly.
"You helped him have his bath?" she asked Rett with a teasing grin.
"Yes. He was playing in the bath again. I had to be firm to pull him out" Rett said and Templar chuckled. "His hair isn't brushed" Rett reminded her and Templar nodded.
The front door of their house was flung open and Templar's best-friend January walked in along with Terence, who had come to drop of their son, Neo, who was the same age as Roy.
"Tem... I have to hurry... I am late for the shoot" Jan said hurriedly.
"When will you be home?" Templar asked her, while she sat Neo on the chair.
"Around seven in the evening. Let him be here alright?"
"Yeah. Sure.... He will be playing with Roy" Templar replied and watched Jan, who rushed towards the door, but stopped and then returning back, she planted a kiss on both Neo as well as Roy's cheek.
"Bye babies" she said and was out of the door.
"Bye mamma" Neo said waving at the door.
"It might be later than seven. They asked her to stay overnight but she refused" Terence told them and Templar nodded in understanding. "You done?" he asked Rett, who was drinking his juice.
"Yes"
"Alright. I will be near your car" Terence said and after kissing Roy and Neo's head, he left.
"Call me if you need me.... okay?" Rett asked standing up and so did Templar.
"Okay" she said with a grin because it was the same line he says every day before going to work.
"Love you" he said and leaned forward to peck Templar's soft lips. His kiss was sweet and sensual and it had her heart swell with happiness.
"I love you" she muttered in-between the kisses and went pink when her son and nephew made yucky noises.
"Bye boys" Rett told them and left to work.
After breakfast, Roy and Neo sat in front of the T.V watching cartoons while Templar cleaned the dining table.
While she was engaged in that work, she couldn't help but recall how quickly the time had passed. She still remembers the day the wolves had accepted her as the leader of their kind.
Templar had taken the invitation of the Alphas' and had visited each and every pack of the country along with her mate and trusted friends. The relationships between packs have improved a lot since then, but here and there some fights do occur. If they turn nasty, then Templar will be forced to step into the scene.
Alpha Efron, Ophelia and Zander were serving their last year as the Sorority Chiefs and packs are already preparing for the election of new Sorority Chiefs. Initially it was agreed that they would serve only three years, but they proved to be such a great chiefs that the all the Alphas' mutually agreed to let them continue for another two years. Wolves trust in the Sorority had been regained and Templar was pleased to see that. Nonetheless there were some wolves, who felt more comfortable in directly calling Templar in case of need.
With Keith and Cam, willing to help and supervise things at Pack, Rett and Templar had nothing to worry about when they visited other packs.
After Sienna, Keith and Trudy had another baby boy- Dave and were now expecting their third child; while Cam and Sveta seemed content with their only child, Luka. Ben and Molly's four-month-old daughter was named Fiorella, but everyone called her Ella. Templar's friend, Myron Lassiter and his mate Genessa, were now parents to Milo and his sister Gwendolyn.
Theo was a freshman in high school, who now called Templar 'girlfriend' only when no one was around.
Templar and Rett had also accepted Adio's invitation and had vacationed last summer in Ashur. The place had progressed a lot since Adio was made the new King and so was the condition of people living there. The four gates had been destroyed!
On a professional level, Templar was now penning her seventh book and she was almost close to completing it.
Life was blissful to Templar and her wolf sighed peacefully as she watched her son laugh.
"Okay boys.... Here you go" she told to Roy and Neo, handing them their bags, as she dropped them at the door of their playschool.
"Yes aunt" Neo said before going inside.
"Roy, promise you'll be good?" she asked kneeling in front of him and brushing his dark hair. His eyes were the exact shade as his father and her heart would melt just by looking at it.
"I am always good" he said stubbornly.
"Really? Is that why Mrs. Jones called me to school last week?" she asked amused.
As a reply, Roy cocked one dark eyebrow. Templar's eyes widened and her mouth dropped open when she saw her little boy doing that.
"Even you can raise an eyebrow?" she said shocked and he smirked.
"Dad taught me that" he said proudly and then kissed both her cheeks, "Bye mum" he added before going inside.
Chuckling, Templar shook her head and stood up. Standing near the classroom door, she watched Roy and sighed when she saw him walking, like he owned the place. Even at such a tender age, Roy was quite bossy and she wondered whom he took it from?
Just then her cell phone started ringing and she answered without looking who the caller was.
"Templar" Zander said from the other end and she stood ramrod straight.
"Yes"
"Alpha Parker has held his daughter captive in his house and isn't letting her meet her mate, who by the way- is a rogue" Zander informed her.
"Who has given the complaint?" she demanded.
"The girl itself. She called us now"
"Politely ask Alpha Parker to let his daughter go to her mate"
"Already did and he refused" she heard Ophelia saying from the other side.
"Her mate had complained to us two days ago" Alpha Ron supplied and Templar nodded, even though they couldn't see her.
"What do we do now?" Zander queried.
"Tell him he has three more hours to change his mind" Templar said and then after glancing at her son one last time, she started marching towards her car.
"And if he still doesn't?"
Templar smirked and put on her aviators while her wolf growled, "If he doesn't.... then he has to face The White Wolf."
