Chapter 39

*Shenu's pov*

"How long are you gonna stay hidden Tae?" I asked not wanting to pretend like, I am not aware of his presence anymore. I heard him curse under his breath and I try my best not to chuckle at his clumsiness. I heard him shuffling behind me and I knew that he was shifting back. He came and sat next me on the edge of the cliff wearing a short along with a plain whit t-shirt.

"I thought I was hiding my scent? Didn't I do it correctly?" He questioned to himself more than me.

"No you did it correctly. I couldn't smell you, but that doesn't mean I can't sense your presence considering who you are to me." I said turning my head to side to look at him. He looked at me and sighed.

"You look like a tom-boy." he said looking at the short and plain black t-shirt I am wearing. I found it tight on a tree branch. "It was Jungkook's idea to put extra clothes in the woods after that day you threaten him to shift in front of everyone." he said with a chuckle probably remembering how Jungkook acted telling that. And after back those words we both fell into a comfortable silence. "Look like you are still not over him pumpkin?" he asked breaking the silence.

"No oppa! I return back as who truly I am. Not as the mate of Jungkook." I said denying his statement. "It's just my wolf Tae. She did that because of Nick. Nick doesn't deserve any of this."

"Neither your wolf pumpkin." he said in a soft voice. "Normally any other wolf in this situation would have take her mate side instead of her human, but Jewel didn't. She stayed loyal to you even though it's killing her to stay away from her mate. She supported you from the very beginning Shenu. She gave you everything you want. But would you be able to give what her want?" he asked making me tense. What she want? She want her mate. And the answer to that question is no. I would never be able give her that. "She doesn't deserve this pumpkin. At-least once try to give her what she want. Just think about it Shenu. For the sake of Jewel." I nodded my head giving him a sad smile. It's too late for that oppa.

*Jungkook's pov*

"Relax Jungkook! You look like you want to punch something or rather someone." Jin hyung said giving a squeeze to my shoulder. Me, My mum, Jin hyung and Jimin is sitting here in the office waiting for others who went to the cell to question the rouges we caught.

"Why wouldn't they let me join them?" I asked or more like yelled.

"Simple! Cause you will kill that rouge as soon as you get a glimpse of a him. Beside you are more angry that Shenu ran away from you. So you would take that anger on them. We know how reckless you are when it comes to your mate Jungkook." Jimin answered earning a glare from me. Before I could say anything the door to the office room opened and my dad came inside with others. There was a old lady with them. Judging by her look I can say she is a witch. My dad sat in front of me and others gathered around us.

"SO...?" I aksed looking at their serious faces. They all looked at the lady who stood by my fathers side. My dad nodded his head at her.

"The rouges was under a spell alpha. He was being controlled by someone else. That's why his eyes were purple." the lady answered.

"She break the spell and we was able to get information from him. They were here for Shenu." My dad said. I hold back a growl gripping the table hardly. " Apparently he doesn't have any idea who is behind all this. He said he doesn't remember the face of that person. It must be a side effect of the spell." Suga hyung explained. I stood up pushing the chair harshly. I want to go there and question him myself. "He is already dead Jungkook. He was on the verge of death when we questioned him." Namjoon hyung said stopping me on my track. I growled in frustration and lift the table. Everyone lowered their head immediately knowing what would come next. As they expected I throw it against the wall.

"There goes an other table." J-hope hyung said

I was cursing under my breath when I catch the scent of Taehyung near my room. When I entered the room I found him there sitting on my bed.

"Do you want her?" he asked out of the blue. I froze shocked with his sudden question. It took me few seconds to register what he said and I slowly nodded my head as he looked at me waiting for my answer. "Then why don't you make a move? Why don't you ask for a chance?" He asked as he walked towards me.

"Cause she said that there is no word such as second-chance in her dictionary." I said remembering her words ignoring the tug I felt in my heart when I said those words. Tae scoffed. He scoffed! HE FREAKING SCOFFED! What the heck? Is this a joke for him.

"You both are talking about second chances when you never even once gave a chance to each other." he said in a scolding tone and walked away bumping into my shoulder. I stood there dumbfound. What has gotten onto him?

*Taehyung's pov*

"Tae come to the down-stair right now!" My eyes snapped open at Shenu's panick voice in my mind. It was so dark meaning it is still night. I tried to link her back but couldn't as the link was blocked. I stood up and without wasting any second I dashed to the down-stair.

I froze on my spot when I got a glimpse of the living room. The whole floor was covered with balloons. In the middle of the living room stood everyone circling a table with a birthday cake on top of it. I spotted Shenu lightning the candles on the cake. As soon as their eyes caught me they all start to sang the birthday song for me. I stood root on my spot unable to move in shock. Shenu ran towards me and grabbed my hand to dragged me to the middle. I stood in front of the cake looking at everyone singing for me still in daze. I looked at everyone trying my best not to tear up. Then my eyes met hers. The one person I treasure most in my life. She was looking at me with gleaming eyes.

"It was her idea!" Jimin mind-linked me seeing how I am staring at her. A genuine smile appeared on my face hearing those words. She cares! I felt someone shaking me and saw it was Shenu. I gave her a questioning look.

"Make a wish and blow the candles Tae." She said excitedly jumping up and down like a five years old child waiting for candy. A light chuckle escaped from my mouth seeing her childish behavior after back a long time and I nodded my head at her. I close my eyes.

I wish for your happiness Angel! No matter what happen I always want you to be happy.

I opened my eyes and blew the candles as everyone start punching me lightly telling it's birthday punches. They even went to the extend of stripping me, but stopped thanks to the Luna. And Shenu being Shenu cut a piece from the cake and smashed it on my face. And of course Jimin didn't forget to record this all.

As the double doors to the ballroom opened all kind of scents invade my nostrils. The natural scents of were-wolves, vampires, expensive perfumes they are wearing, all kind of alcohols and foods. They all stood there clad in expensive suits and dresses. It's 31st night. My parents arrange a party to celebrate the new year with our pack members. As I entered the room few she wolfs shamelessly checked me out. I decide to keep my dressing code charm today not wanting to look all fancy in front of my mate's eyes which she hates the most. Seeing the stares I am receiving I knew I was rocking my outfit.

I smirked mentally and walked towards where my parents stood clingy to each other greeting the pack members. Both of them look perfect together and I must admit they are the happiest couple I have seen in my life. A perfect alpha and a caring Luna. I wonder how me and my mate would be like after we became the alpha and luna. Will we look as great as them together?

"Yo bro you Look handsome!" Jimin comment as I stood in front of them. I greeted my parents and gave all the boys a bro hug. I looked around looking for certain someone and start sniffing the air trying to find her scent.

"She is not here yet." Tae said sensing whom I am searching for. Everyone looked at me with a knowing look as they heard what he said. It's already 10.30 p.m. She should be here by now. I came late wanting to make a grand entrance and gain her attention, but look where it stopped. As in cue the doors opened again and her sweet scent of jasmine and vanilla caught my attention. There stood My mate with my sister-in-low in the entrance looking as stunning as ever. Wearing a white and royal blue lace beaded long sleeve floor length gown.

I can only think of one word to describe her. Gorgeous! As she entered the room everyone stopped what they were doing to spare a glance at her. She walked confidently towards my parent not minding others stares at all. If this was the same old girl she would have been a blushing mess right now from all the attention she is receiving. But no. This girls right now in front of me is boosting with confidence. She walked like she own the world. But still there was that sweet innocent smile on her face. I hoped to see a cocky smirk on her face. But instead got met with a humble smile.

"Oh my god! You look stunning dear!" My mum said hugging her tightly. "And you too Jisso!" she said afterwards sincerely and hugged noona also. She is also wearing the same dress but her's is red color and sleeveless.

"I am glad to have two beautiful daughter-in-lows in my family!" My father comment and for a millisecond I saw her smile flatter. Others didn't notice as she quickly replaced it with a smile.

"Oh look Seguli how stunning my baby is." Jin hyung said walking towards us with Seguli.

"More than me?" Seguli asked and that caught everyone's attention. We all turn our head at Jin hyung waiting for his answer. He looked like a deer caught in trap. He looked at Shenu and Seguli back and forth without knowing how to answer that question. Both of the girls look at him with hopeful eyes. Oh I never wish to be in his situation. Suddenly the three girls burst into laugh looking at Jin hyung's red face.

"Oh come on Seguli! Stop teasing my poor oppa!" She said giving a hug to him. Jin hyung released a breath he kept holding in relief.

"Come on I am hungry. It got me god damn two hours to dress her." Jisoo noona said accusing Shenu.

"I never said you to dress me up. You should have let me get dress by myself." She huffed.

"Sure! So that you can wear a denim and t-shirt as you planed!" Jisoo mocked making everyone chuckle. Shenu glared at her and walked away where to the food was and other two girls soon followed behind.

The party was going great. Everyone was enjoying so far. The crowd is going crazy with alcohol and music. Everyone was dancing or happily chanting with each others. It's almost midnight. Almost. In three minutes it would be new year. My dad walked towards the stage leaving my mum, brother and Jisoo noona with me. I looked around wanting to find someone as I want that person's face to be the first thing I would see in new year.

"Everyone are you guys  ready to welcome the new year?" My dad yelled into the mic as he stood on the stage. I start to sniff the air wanting to find her depressingly before the new year. And when I found her my breath hitched. My whole body froze and I went numb seeing the scene happening in front of my eyes. There stood my mate far corner in the room in front of Tae who was on one knee holding a red color velvet box with a red ruby ring on it in his hands.

I felt my breath got stuck on my lungs. I couldn't feel my body or my heart beat. The only thing I could do was staring at them with wide eyes and mouth hanging ajar. Is he proposing her? I couldn't here what he is saying to her due to the loud music and chattering. All I could do was stare as Tae is saying something to her.

"Everyone count with me." I heard my dad voice. Tae stopped whatever he was telling and waited patiently for her answer with hopeful eyes. The crowed start to count still oblivious to the scene happening in the corner. She looked deep in thought. No no don't say yes. Don't say yes. Don't! I chanted in my mind.

"One"

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!" The crowed start to yell. Fire works explode in the sky. Everyone started yelling and clapping. But everything sound distance to me as she nodded her head at him.

"Yes!" I caught that word escaping from her mouth and my whole world crumbled in front of my eyes. My wolf starts to howl in agony and everyone went silent sensing their alpha's pain. A huge small broke in his face and he stood up pulling the ring from the box. No No No NOOOO.... I can't let that happen. She is mine! Mine!

*Shenu's pov*

I was watching everyone standing in a corner of the room when Tae appeared in front of me out of no where. I glared at him for startling me and he smiled sheepishly at me. I broke into a chuckle as I couldn't resist the cute faces he is making.

"Everyone are you guys ready to welcome the new year?" The alpha yelled and I turn my head towards him to see he is standing on the stage. The crowed cheered and I turn to look at Tae. I gasped seeing him on a one knee holding a velvet box with a ring on his hand.

"Shenu your came into my life when I least expected you, but I am happy I found you. Cause you completed me. You made me a whole person and made me believe in my wolf. I am not good at expressing my feelings but all I want to say you is that I want this bond to be complete. I want you to accept the bond and complete the connection between us. Cause trust me I am incomplete without you. I want to feel the connection pumpkin. I genuinely want this. This is what I was born for, but I am not doing this because I was bound to do but because I want this. I want this bond Shenu. And you are the only one who can complete this. So will you accept our bond? Will you accept me?" he said sincere with his every word.

"Everyone count with me!" I heard alpha yelling and the countdown start.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR" The crowed yelled as fireworks explode on the sky giving a perfect view to the crowed through the big glass windows. Everyone started greeting each other and cheering.

"Yes!" I said making a beautiful smile broke into his face. Suddenly everyone went silent as Tae stood up pulling the ring. I extend my hand for him. He smiled holding the ring in front of my awaiting hand.I couldn't help but to smile reassuringly at him while nodding my head. But before he could put the ring on my hand two hands grabbed our hands preventing us from exchanging ring. Tingles and sparkles ran through my body from the skin contact. I looked at my side and saw Jungkook standing next to me pulling my hand back. I turn my head towards Tae and what surprised me was that Yunna stood next to him pulling his hand back. Both me and Tae had surprised and a confused look on our faces.

They both looked at me and Tae intensely and said the word I expect they would say to each other once the midnight hit, but instead of telling that word to each other they looked at me and Tae when they mumble that word.

"MINE!"
