Chapter 4

"Good morning Sir. Welcome to Ramirez Group of Company." the secretary greeted me as she waited me in the entrance.

"Good morning secretary Claire."

I greeted too. "What's for today?" I asked her.

"First, I guide you around for you to familiarize the different departments of your company. Then, in the afternoon you have a meeting with the executives. And Sir, you are incharge to attend the board meeting three days from now."

"Such a hectic schedule for the acting CEO." I commented.

"I'm sorry Sir, did I pressured you? she said apologetic.

"No, it's okey. You're just doing your job secretary Claire. Let's go around now." I said.

The whole morning I spent in visiting every department of the company have. Luckily I wear a comfortable shoes.

"Sir, this is your office. As you requested we prepare a new and simple one. I hope you like it. This is the former office of the CEO. We arranged it according to your preferences." the secretary explained.

"Dont worry, I'm okey with it. Since, I'm here for just a short time, I don't want to mess the current CEO office." I looked around. It's looks nice and neat.

"By the way Secretary Claire, I want to look all the reports for this month. And all the on going projects. I want to see them first before the board meeting come."

"Yes Sir. I give it all to you later, After your meeting this afternoon."

"Okey. You can take your lunch."

"Thank you Sir." she left my office.

In the cafeteria..

"Did you saw our acting CEO?"

"Yes. He's too cute and young."

"They said he's a rebellious son, but he looks like angel."

"Yes. He talk kind. There's no arrogance in his voice."

"Im looking forward how he lead the company while his father is in break."

The company meeting finished smoothly. Is too exhausting to heard a never ending reports but leave me no choice. I need to work hard to satisfy the real CEO. After the meeting..I read and study all the reports that submitted in my office this day. I didn't realize the time have passed quickly.

"Your here son, how's your day?"

My mom greeted me when I entered the house.

"Good evening mom. It's a tiring day." I said the truth.

"You will use to it soon, son. I have a faith in you." my mom encouraged me.

"Yeah, I hope so. Let me rest first mom."

"Sure, go to your room. I call you if the dinner is ready."

"You didn't have your dinner yet? It already late.." I looked my watch it's already 8:20 pm.

"We waited for you." mom said.

"Then let me wash first while you arranging the table. I make it quick mom. Next time, don't wait for me. You can have your dinner first." I said. I runned to my room to wash myself. I don't want my mom wait long for me. After ten minutes I went down stairs. To my surprised my dad is in the dining table.

"G-good evening d-dad." I greeted. He just nod.

"I cooked your favorites, Chain. I hope you like it."

"Definitely mom. I missed your cooking so much."

We start eating. No one dares to open a topic. We were afraid to ruined the dinner.

"How's your first day?" my dad asked in stern face.

"I did fine, I guess. I read and study all the reports, I write my suggestions and opinion about it, I already asked your secretary to send it to you." I said coldly. "By the way, I brought the documents that need your sign. And the board meeting is in three days from now I hope you can attend it."

"You can attend by yourself." dad said.

"No. I don't dare. I don't want to messed up in front of your board members." I refused.

"At least be ready if in case I'm not feeling well that day." dad ordered.

"Yes Sir." I replied.

After the dinner, I bring the documents to my parents room. I give it to my dad to sign by him.

"I pick them tomorrow morning. Good Night D-dad. Good night Mom."

"Chain, can I have a kiss? My mom asked.

"Sure Mom." I come near her then kiss her in the forehead.

"Good night son." my mom whispered. I saw my dad looking at us.

On the other day in the office...

"Secretary Claire, can you print me the member list of the board members. " I requested.

"Yes, Sir." She said. Then left my office for a while. After a few minute she lead me the copy I requested. I read the document and I was stunned when I read a familiar name in the list.

"Secretary Claire, Leam Napolles is a share holder of this company?" I asked in shocked.

"Yes Sir. He owned 20% percent."

"How come he invested in this company, since he can buy and run double of his own." I asked.

"You know how close Mr Napolles to your father, Sir. Maybe, he's paying the gratitude."

"Is everyone confirmed their present in the board meeting?" suddenly I asked. I just want to know if Leam will attend the board meeting.

"Yes, Sir." Oh shit, this will be ackward for both of us.

"I think dad need to attend, instead of me. I don't want to mess up."

"You can do it Sir... You prepared for it, why suddenly back up?"

"Those person are the important to this company, if I can't satisfy them, what will happened? I don't want to imagine how would be the reaction of my dad about it."

"You over thinking, Sir. It's just one of the board meeting happening every month. And who's gonna disappoint with a CEO with an angelic face. A smart and hardworking boss. You're just two days here but you done a lot. Everyone here is amazed by you. You should be confident that you do well also, like what you did in the company meeting."

I sighed. "Are you trying to pressure me more now Secretary Claire?"

"No, Sir. I'm just telling you what you are capable of. Just trust yourself and be confident. I stayed in your back. If anything you don't understand I'll explain it to you as long as I can."

"No wonder you're the secretary of the CEO. Well, thank you Secretary Claire for doing your job very well." I smiled at her.

But the reason is, she don't really understand the situation. I don't want to attend the board meeting because I know there's the present of the man who rejected me first before I start to confess my feelings.
