A new beginning

Authors Note: I've been reading through the parts I've posted and I realized I made various mistakes but that's fine, I also realized I've been excluding some important details! If you need a few reminders feel free to look back to where the story first began!! (Sees this part as a chapter 2) also, if your unsure what a "quarter" is in schools it's basically like a short semester with no breaks at then end of it! It only lasts a few weeks, in this story there's two quarter in each semester so there's 4 quarters. (I don't know what other way to explain😔 you guys are smart though!) oh and it's Wednesday in the story.

Chloe's POV

Now that Red and I are finally in a official relationship, things have been getting better around AP. Like our grades, with all the drama going on our grades hit rock bottom. After a week of making up missing assignments we got our failing grades to passing ones. Red and I have been getting into so much trouble this first quarter we've gotten four strikes already, I think Uma was being pretty generous but I'm not complaining. Kai came back to school a few days ago and right now he hasn't been to much trouble, just sly remarks and weird love notes.. I've only gotten the chance to read two because Red rips them up immediately once I get one, or sets them ablaze.

I find it funny how protective this girl is over me, and her other friends. Red and I are getting ready for another  day of school,well.. I am. Red is moping around the room. "What are you doing.." I said while fixing my blue curls. "I'm bored" she said as she stared at my desk. "Get ready! We have school in 30 minutes." "That sounds sooo boring though." I laughed softly. "Get Ready wonderland." "Fineee" she grabbed some clothes and headed into the bathroom.

After a few minutes I was ready and Red came out the bathroom also ready, we got our bags and shoes on and headed out the dorm. holding hands all the way to the cafeteria. We saw a table with Leah and Ruby with a few of our other friends and went to go sit with them. "Hiii friends!" I said cheerfully "hi guys" Red said right after me. "Hi love birds." Ruby said laughing a little with Leah. Red picked  up a grape and threw it at the girl. "Wow okay, we can fight right now" she joked "you would lose, you always do." Red mocked as Ruby rolled her eyes, bickering back and forth with Ruby.

Suddenly I felt a hand creep up on my right shoulder, the opposite side of Red so she didn't notice right away.

I turned my head to were my eyes met Kai's inches apart which caused me to back up a little. "What Kai." I said as red quit going back and forth with Ruby. As he was about to speak Red shoved him off, removing his hand from my shoulder. "Fuck off, kai." She said standing face to face with him, the height difference was inches apart. "I didn't even do anything." He said chuckling. "I don't care, we've been doing this for a week now and you haven't gotten the message yet." She said frustrated as me and the girls watched in silence.

"There's no message to receive wonderland, you may have her now but just remember I had her first."

Kai said trying to get under her skin. "Just accept I'm better than you." Red said teasing the now frustrated boy. He scoffed and walked off to his group of new crazier friends. We all laughed and Red smiled nervously. "You guys should really just get married now." Leah mentioned. We laughed and then the bell rang indicating that we need to get to first hour.

Kids started to pile out and flood into the halls trying to get to their lockers. I got whatever I needed out my locker and walked to class with Red with the two girls following behind us, gossiping about some girl. We sat down at our regular desks, Red sat next to me while Leah and Ruby sitting behind us. "Okay class! I'm going to hand out two pieces of paper. One for an upcoming dance and another one for upcoming sports/clubs, you need to sign up for a sport by next week. Well if you want to do one of the listed options of course, you have a chance to tryout and a chance to get in but AP is very strict about who they put on their teams so show up with confidence and talent." Red smiled a little at the thought of doing a sport. We got the papers and the sports/club listed the following activities.

Chloe's POV

Reds eyes basically sparkled at all the listed options. "Which one will you do?" I whispered to her. "Wrestling. Obstacle training, even though I'm already really good at it." She already had it all down. I was happy she wanted to do a sport. "What a about you charming." She looked up from her paper to look at me. "Hmm.. so many good ones to choose. I'll be doing student council obviously,maybe study buddies and tutoring help." She laughed while I listed off the activity's. "What's so funny!" I yelled but in a whisper. "Nothing nothing"

~ HUGE TIME SKIP~ (an assembly)

Reds POV

principal Uma called the school in for a mandatory assembly. As the kids piled in Chloe found some seats somewhat in the middle. "Okay' welcome kids.! As you know sports are coming up, but there's also a dance coming up in a few weeks! Although it's not a requirement to go it would be a disappointment to miss something as fun as this. Student council will organize the dance and everything that needs to be organized. For some of these sports I've already organized team captains. I'll be calling them into my office one by one later on today. Once you turn in whatever you want to do I'll get tryouts started immediately, same goes for some of the clubs. You have coaches and some teachers and then a team captain(s) depending on which sport." Gosh this assembly is boring as shit. She's not talking about anything important.

After minutes of yapping she dismissed everyone to lunch. As I sat with everyone we chatted for a bit untill Kai decided to come up to us. For once he wasn't hitting on Chloe. "What Kai." I said bluntly "Don't gotta be so rude, I was just wondering what sport you were going to do, wonderland." "Why does that matter?" I questioned. "I wanna make sure I don't get anything with you. Like football or basketball, definitely not wrestling." "What? you know I'll beat you in every match?" "We went back and forth. "Obviously not." "Alright Kai. Get lost." He rolled his eyes scoffing.

"I'll leave you alone for now. But remember I never, let things go."

He walked off into the crowd of kids standing around waiting for lunch. "What does he mean by that?" Ruby questioned, I forgot she doesn't know the whole story behind Kai. "Nothing important. Don't worry about Kai, he's not causing anymore shit for a while." I said confidently. The girls looked worried for some reason but there's no reason to be. "I don't know Red. Evie told me that Kai is was more dangerous than he seems." Chloe said holding my hand. "Kai doesn't scare me, he shouldn't scare y'all either. Trust me he's all bark and no bite, at least not anymore." I said again with confidence. I wasn't worried that Kai would do anything, I mean after wonderland im sure he's learned his lesson. "Anyways! So.. the dance that's coming up, who's going?" Chloe mentioned excitedly. "I'm definitely going. It sounds like so much fun" Ruby was filled with excitement. "Me too! And you'll be organizing it Chloe so I know it will be fun." Leah chimed in. "What about you Red, are you going?" Chloe questioned "nope I'm not going to a ball, doesn't sound fun or entertaining." Before the girls could argue the bell rang and I got up to head to class.

15 minutes into math the intercom came on and it was principal Uma.

🔊-Can Princess Red make her way to my office please. Princess Red to my office. And hurry up to I don't have all day🔊

My heart sunk, I thought I was in trouble again. I did not want to get yelled at. I grabbed my things and headed up to the office, everyone glaring and looking on my way out. As I walked down the silent halls my head filled with thoughts and assumptions.

What if your In trouble cuz of kai?

Maybe your not doing as good as you thought you were in school..

Your failing.

Something bad is going to happen.

I cleared my head once I opened up the office door, slowly taking a seat as Uma gestured me in. "Red! Your not in trouble don't worry." My body relaxed as it was tensed up, a weight had been lifted off my back. "So.. I looked into your background a little, and I saw that your really good at obstacle courses. You know, jumping over walls,climbing,dogging all that cool stuff." I nodded my head slowly wondering where this was going. " anyways, I called you up to ask if you wanted to be team captain of Obstacle course training" my eyes widened that she would pick me. "of course if it's to much I can get someone else." She said flipping through her papers.

"No, no I would love too! That sounds so fun" I smiled excitedly. She nodded her head and wrote something down in her notebook. "Alright then! Now get out." she said bluntly. I rushed out excitedly, it was passing period so I rushed to Chloe's locker. Of course, on my way there I was tripped by Kai. My knees slamming onto the floor. "What the fuck is your deal Kai!" I yelled while standing up, the hall going silent for a bit watching it unfold. "Maybe watch we're your going next time, freak." He said chuckling. I shoved him hard into a locker. He looked at me, fuming with rage. As I was about to fight this kid Chloe ran up to me, grabbing my upper arm and pulling me back some. "It's fine Red." Chloe said softly. "Yea Chloe get your fucking dog." He said laughing with his friend. "that's why you'll forever want something you can never have you pathetic-"

~THWACK~

"KAI!"

My head rang and my nose started to bleed. That's weird.. As my head started to spiral Chloe was pulling me in, making sure I wouldn't fall. "Red.. are you okay?" She said worrisome. Everything was a blur, my head felt light and dizzy, my thoughts were so loud and I could barely pull myself together.

I was still fuming with rage. "WHAT THE FUCK KAI?" I heard Chloe yell. Something is definitely wrong, it never takes me this long to recover. "WHY THE FUCK DID YOU HIT HER?" Kai laughed in her face. Suddenly I heard Ruby and Leah rush to my side. I watched as Chloe shoved Kai into a wall nearby. "Who the fuck are you pushing, princess" I started to regain some thought lifting my head up. A river of blood flowed down my nose, quickly dropping onto the floor tiles. "Red hold your head back" I heard Leah say. I shook the girls off and grabbed Chloe as Kai was about to get in her face. Kai grinned at me watching as the blood drip from my nose. "What's the matter wonderland." I kneed him in the stomach, he coughed dramatically and grunted. I wiped the blood from my nose, leaving stains on my hand.

"Guys? What's going-" principal Uma came around the corner to a bloody sight and a boy holding his stomach hunched over. "You two, in my office now." Great cuz that's just what I needed. "Yea no. I didn't do shit wrong." I said faintly as my head started to throb in pain. "Red! Get to my office or I'm calling your mother!" Uma yelled as two pirates helped the boy get to the office. I looked her dead in the eyes in frustration. I squeezed my eyes shut and winced in pain as my head throbbed harder.

"Red? Whats wrong." Chloe said holding my hand. "Nothing." I said trying brush it off. "Chloe. Walk her up to the office."  "Yes principal Uma." Uma walked away and Chloe looked at me, as if she was checking to make sure nothing was wrong. "Your face.." she said softly as she caressed her thumb across the red spot Forming on my cheek. "Does your head hurt?" I was about to shake my head but the throbbing came back harder this time and Chloe could tell. "I'll get you some medicine but you need to go to the office.. can you walk?" I nodded my head as Chloe started to walk with me, not letting go of my hand. My head throbbed the whole way there.

What's wrong with my head..

I thought to myself. Kai was never that strong before, did he use voodoo magic? Was something on his Hand that made him stronger.. or something to make my head hurt more than it usually would? I haven't gotten weaker have I? That would be a shame.. I was stuck in my head until it started to throb once more a stabbing sensation and pounding headache all around. I stopped in place holding Chloe's and a little tighter, I winced and panted keeping my head held low. My opposite hand was holding my head. "Red?.. what's wrong" Chloe said standing in front of me "my head.." I said quietly, almost under my breath. She looked at my cheek and her expression dropped.

"Holy shit.."

Chloe said as she stared at my swelling cheek. My head wouldn't stop throbbing, it felt like tons of full barrels were being thrown all around my head. Normally it would've stopped by now, it's been on and off but this time it won't stop. My breathing was heavy and my eyes were directed to the floor. The extreme pain made my vision a blur, I fell to my knees as my breathing was still unsteady. It hurt so bad I didn't know what to do. "Girls. What's taking so-" Uma cut her self off after seeing me on the floor and Chloe panicking, our hands not letting go of each other. "Is she alright? What's going on?" "I.. I don't know! Kai hit her and now her face is starting to bruise and..she said her head hurts.. I don't know what to do!"Chloe said starting to spiral, I could barely keep my eyes open, my eyelids felt so heavy. My thoughts were louder than the people around me.

Chloe's POV

I have no idea what's wrong with Red.. I worried as her knees came in contact with the floor, her breathing shaky and unsteady. What had Kai done to her? "Red?.. what's wrong, talk to me.." I said kneeling down to her. Her head hung low as her hair dangled covering up her face. "It hurts.." she mumbled to me, her voice cracking some. I held her hand tightly but her grip was light. "Give her a moment." Uma said calling over her pirates. One of the masculine pirates picked Red up, putting her on his back. Her arms hung over his shoulders and her head laid still. I followed behind them as we went up to Uma's office to where we met Kai.

He looked at me, then at Red smiling. "Damn I hit her that hard?" He said chuckling. It made my blood boil, to think this boy could just do that to someone, it's sickening. "Fuck you Kai, if you think this is going to get me to like you.. it's not working." I said placing my hand on my sword on my belt. "That's unfortunate, I'll try harder next time." He said laughing at his "joke." I pulled out my sword slashing his cheek. He tried to retaliate but I pointed the sword to his throat. "Woah.. let's- let's calm down, yea?" He said breaking a sweat. "Chloe put it down." Uma said as the pirate placed Red down in a chair. She watched in pain, it was all over her face.

She was in so much pain and I couldn't bare to see her like that. "What'd you do to her" I said as I started to dig the sharp point into his skin, not enough force to pierce him though. "Chloe Charming!" Uma yelled but I wasn't listening to her right now. "You used magic! I know you did. What'd you do!" Kai looked worried but he look psycho at the same time. Suddenly he lifted up the palm that he struck Red with, he showed me a new necklace exactly like the one I broke before but made from a different type of material.. it looks stronger. I looked over at Red to see the bite from the necklace on her cheek. I slashed his face again. "CHLOE!" Uma yelled as one of the pirates grabbed the sword from my hand. "He used magic!" I yelled to Uma "Who cares she isn't going to die! Maybe.." Kai said wiping the blood from his cheek. I looked at Uma fuming with rage. I knew there's was nothing SHE could do.

I know someone who can, Red's mom and her deck of cards. I walked over to Red moving the hair from the cheek that was starting to swell. Revealing the mark Kai's necklace made. Uma looked stuck, like she didn't know what to do. I knew what to do though. I grabbed my sword from the pirate shoving it into my belt. "Red can I borrow your phone please?" I said as she nodded slowly. She handed me her phone and I texted her mom.

C: Hi Bridget, this is Chloe.. I need you to please come get us from the school, and fast.. Red's  hurt bad.

Mom.: on my way. Be there in 5.

C: thank you

I put her phone in my pocket and lifted her out the seat gently. She winced at the sudden movement. "What are you doing? Where are you going" Uma called. "To get SOME form of help. Who knows what's being filled In her head, it's voodoo magic." I said walking out and to the front. I ran into Ruby and Leah on the way thankfully. "Is she okay? What happened in there??" "Kai used magic, I'm taking her back to wonderland so her mom can help. You two get in the car." I said walking out the front doors. "You okay princess?" I said at the girl, her eyes were nearly closed shut and her breathing was still heavy. "Mhm.." she said softly. Suddenly Red's mom sped into the driveway, pulling up to the front doors and getting out the car quickly. "What happened?" She said frantically. "Her and Kai got into another altercation, Kai used voodoo magic on her." "Okay, I know how to help but we'll need to be quick. Get in the car hurry Now" she said as she opened up the doors.

Ruby sat in the front and Leah sat at the far end giving Red enough space. I got in with Red still in my arms. "It hurts Chloe.." she said faintly her voice cracking as if she would cry. "I know princess, we're gonna get you some help okay?" I said brushing the hair out her face. We sped out the school parking lot down to wonderland. Red clenched onto my hand tightly for a moment she buried her face in my torso. "What kind of pain is it princess?" I asked her as a tear rushed down her cheek. "Throbbing.. stabbing." She said in between heavy breaths. We made our way to the rabbit hole and passed through. Red grunted squeezing her eyes tightly shut, I know that feeling. We finally made it to the castle and her mom hustled us out, rushing us through the doors. "Quick place her on the couch, I'm going to get my cards." She said leaving going up to her room.

Reds POV

God it hurts so bad.. it's not getting better, if anything it's getting worse. I could barely keep my eyes open, staying conscious for all of this wasn't easy. Chloe held my hand kissing my temple, that made it a little better. I smiled to her before wincing in pain as my head throbbed, pounding to the speed of my heart. I moved around uncomfortably, groaning and squeezing Chloe's hand. A tear escaped from my eye, leaving a trail behind it.

"It's okay Red you're going to be alright" she reassured me.

I was sure I was going to die right now. Mom came rushing downstairs with a single card in her hand. It was different from the rest, like it shouldn't belong in wonderland at all. "Okay dear, this is going to take a minute to kick in but I need your wrist" that's nothing new. I felt to weak to move though, I couldn't move a single limb or everything would break, I would die. I looked at Chloe for help and she understood immediately. She lifted my sleeve up gently and mom cut me with the card, since this was one of her healing cards it didn't draw blood or hurt, It may have left a scar but that's all. Two minutes of me in excruciating agony, and Chloe worrying for me, I fell out of consciousness. My hearing went out as my thoughts screamed at me and my vision went black, my head felt light weight but dizzy at the same time. The last thing I heard was Chloe calling for me. Begging for me to wake up or to be okay. Even while being unconscious I still felt Chloe's warm soft hand latched in mine, I felt her tear drop on my arm.

Chloe's POV

"Red?! Red what's wrong.. Red please!" I said frantically Panicking. I looked at the cut from the healing card as it started to shine a pink color. Did that mean it was working? My hands to trembled rapidly but still not letting go of Reds. I held her hand that was interlocked with mine up to my chin, not taking my eyes off her. That was until I got a notification on my phone. It was principal Uma, God as if I wanna deal with her bullshit at this moment.

I hope Red is doing well, I came to the decision that Red won't be in any trouble sense she could barely walk by herself. I've punished Kai once more but I can't suspend him or that would be bad for the whole school. Although Red isn't in trouble I'd like to see you in my office when you get back, your not out of the woods yet.

-Principal Uma

That's great for me, I'll probably get into so much trouble I can't do student council which would be a bummer but if it's for Red I don't really care. I don't know, when it comes to her being hurt or in danger, anything that I cared about before is just a thought, if I were in a mid-life crisis and someone told me Red was in the hospital or getting into a fight I'd forget about that crisis immediately just to be with her. Suddenly I was cut short from my love thoughts, I felt Red squeeze my hand gently.

"Red?!.."
