Break!

Red's POV

I woke up with the sun shining brighter than ever in my face, practically blinding me. I woke up more abrupt than usual but that's just because of the bright light.

Looking over to Chloe's bed I saw that she wasn't there and the window curtains were wide open. I rolled over to face away from the window, throwing the blanket covers over my head.

That's when I felt a gentle shake on my shoulder, I knew it was Chloe but I wanted to go back to sleep. "Red!! Wake up! You can't spend your whole break sleeping." She said as she continued to shake me. "No.. it's so early." I mumbled from under the blanket. "It's 10:34. You've slept in long enough! I'm bored and I want to hang out with my girlfriend." She pouted, throwing the blankets from over me.

I grunted and flipped on my back to face her, she had a cute pleading smile on her face and her eyes sparkled perfectly at the way the sun light hit them. I looked at her, squinting my eyes and furrowing my brows as she pleaded for me to get up out of bed. "No." I said turning back on my side and pulling the covered back over me, just not over my head this time.

That's when she started poking at my side, making me let out a small laugh. Then she did it again, and over and over again. "quit that!" I said slapping her hand away once I was able to stop laughing. "Is the princess of hearts ticklish?" She asked teasing me. I rolled by eyes and started to sit up from the bed, letting my legs dangle off the side. I felt a little burn in my thigh at this movement, knowing that is just the wound that rested there.

"Shut up." I snickered at her. She was standing somewhat tall over me, not much but enough to where I could look up at her. "Okay can we do something fun today? We don't get a lot of calm days so let's use this one." She said with my hands held in hers. I guess I understood where she was coming from, we really don't get days that are normal and calm. "What would you like to do today princess?" I asked and saw her face light up with such a gorgeous smile.

"We can go on a walk, there's a bakery not far from the school! Maybe we could take the girls on a little outing as well." She spilled with many ideas, she sounded so excited and I didn't want to let her down with my leg pain. "Alright, we'll do whatever your heart desires, go get ready." I spoke in a teasing manner.

She left me to go shower and I was bored, and wanted to do something kind, for once. I asked her first, I didn't want to do something I think is kind and she gets upset. "Princess" I said through the door, hearing the shower water run. "Yess?" She hummed. "Can I pick out your outfit for today?" "Omg! Yes! You don't have to ask!! It'll be so cute!" She sounded excited so I went for it, I knew I'd have fun picking out what she was going to where for the day.

I was thinking about putting her in some of my clothes but I don't see her where baggy grunge attire to often. I searched through her clothes, looking at how perfectly organized they were and so Chloe coded. I wanted her to where something that was a bit of Red and Chloe, if they had a kid. Not in a weird way just in the sense.

I found a plaid skirt, the plaid prints were black and I knew it was perfect. Then for her top I went for a black compression with my signature heart in the middle of the chest. I looked for accessories but this girl just has bracelets and arm warmers/ fish nets. So from my wardrobe I got her dark limped tights, I put a few holes in them purposely for her outfit. Then obviously her signature necklace and her rings I see her wearing.

Just as I was done I heard the shower water cut off. "Are you done with the outfit Red?" She asked from the other side of the door. "Yes ma'am!" I looked at the clothes I picked out for her, it gave off a blue gothic vibe and I was all for it. "Wait. No im not don't come out!" I said, forgetting something. I knew it looked off.

I rushed into my closet and looked for a long plaid cardigan, I didn't know which colors I had but I needed a black and blue one. Which I did not seem to find or own. "I'll be right back, don't move from that bathroom." I said rushing out of the door, heading over to Ruby's room. Of course she didn't lock her doors so I walked in on Ruby and Leah having a.. session. "I would say get a room but.. you have one." I joked, earning a few eye rolls and scoffs.

"What do you want Red?" Ruby asked getting off the bed, leaving Leah alone. "Well, little rabbit. I need a cardigan, and I know you have a collection." When it came to fashion my sister was always on top of it, her wardrobe could fit hundreds of people. "What colors are we looking for?" She asked, leading me over to her dresser, opening up a drawer that was filled with different colored plaid cardigans. "I need.. blue and black." I said skimming through the collection. "Good choice! It's definitely a Chloe..- wait a second, what are you and Chloe doing?" She asked pulling out the perfect fully black and blue cardigan. "We are all going on an outing, so you two get dressed." I said swinging the cardigan over my shoulder and shutting her door on the way out.

"Okay Chloe I'm back! I needed one more piece to your outfit." I set the pierce of clothing near her outfit, it was perfect. "Can I come out now? It's getting humid in here." She said through the door, I could tell her lips were pressed up against it from the way her voice was louder but also muffled. "Yes, you can." I laughed at her actions. Just as she opened the door I stopped her mid way, I realized she was also in a towel so I tried to keep it together. "You have to tell me if you don't like it though, okay?" She nodded her head and hummed in response, just eager to see the outfit. "Promise." I said holding out my pinkie, that's when her attention was fully on me. Then our pinkies intertwined with each other, and I let her go see the outfit the laid on the edge of her bed.

Chloe's POV

Seeing the outfit my jaw dropped, I didn't even realize it was so far open. The outfit is so me and Red at the same time! I loved it, I'd never worn something so.. gothic-ish before but I was so excited to try it on. "Is it bad?" I heard the girl behind me hesitantly ask. "Red! It's absolutely perfect! I love it so much!" I said cupping her face and shaking her a bit, really I was trying to shake away her thoughts of my disliking her choice in style.

"Okay great! I'll go get ready and we can get the girls and get going, yea?" She said, waiting for a response but I had a huge grin on my face, like the ones that say "I'm up to something" or "I want something and you've got to say yes" she looked at me with her brows a bit furrowed in confusion. "Why are you looking at me like that, what do you want?" She said laughing a bit at my facial expression. "Can I make your outfit?" I asked excitedly. "Yes you may, be generous though." She laughed while heading into the bathroom.

After getting dressed I waited to do my hair and makeup, I wanted Red to come out and see her outfit. Not keep her waiting like how she did me.

I looked through her clothes and didn't see much of what I wanted, except for one. I saw a perfect black skirt with a Red chain, it was so cute and I knew what I wanted to do for her.

For her top I gave her a short black tang top, then I saw a Red and black jacket, there were spikes on the sleeve and went with the outfit so I put it on the bed, it was long so it'd look good with the shirt. Then I found some fishnets pants with heart designs in them, I saw the same kind but for arms. I gave her the pants and only one arm net. Then of course her chunky rings.

I may have went a bit extreme so.. I hope she likes it. I don't typically see her wearing skirts or anything like this so hopefully she doesn't try and burn it at first glance. I heated the shower water cut out and just as I was about to say she could see her outfit she had already started talking. "Princess, can you wrap my leg for me please?" She said peeping her head through the door, I smiled and nodded my head. "You have my outfit?" She asked excitedly. "Yes I do! It's Ready if you'd like to..-" before I could finish my sentence she was already right beside me, geeking over the outfit I'd picked out. "Chloe! This is so cute! I haven't worn a skirt in years! And you look so cute in what I picked out for you, Of course I have a taste for style." She spoke as her eyes traced my body comfortably.

"Thank you princess. Now get dressed in some shorts and a regular shirt and I'll wrap you, then you can change into this." I said heading into the bathroom to do my hair and makeup. I decided on a half up half down with two strands out in the front, and my make up was just everyday like. I left the bathroom with a new pair of wraps for Red, she was looking at her scar in the body mirror we shared. I wonder why she thinks so cool? She admires it. "Ready?" I asked, I guess she didn't realize she had company since she stood up straight and quit looking at the scar the second she heard me. "Yes I am!"

After I finished wrapping her leg perfectly she started to get dressed, I didn't feel like going back into the bathroom so I watched TV on the couch. That was until I heard Red speak up, finally it took her forever. "Okay.. how does it look." Before even turning around my mouth spoke before I saw her fully. "I'm sure you look awesome, I mean I am the.." I cut my self short when I saw her in the outfit. I felt my face grow warm and the temperature of my body went up, my heart pounding out of my chest. "Is it bad? Skirts were never...-" "You look amazing! Oh my gosh!! Wait give me a 360" I finally let myself speak. She started to slowly turn once she heard my request and I knew that the outfit was perfect on her.

"It's perfect! You look so beautiful princess!" I said admiring every little thing about her. I noticed her hair and make up was already done so we were all ready to go. "Should we see if the girls are ready?" She asked, I could tell she couldn't stop smiling from my compliments. "Yes we should." I said grabbing her hand and walking with her to their dorm.

Once we walked in I stopped midway through the door before Red came in. "Okay girls. This outfit is fully sponsored by me, so give me credits." They looked at me confused, then I showed them Reds outfit and their jaws were on the ground. I couldn't stop myself from smiling.

"Red you look perfect! You both do?! Aww this is so cute!" Ruby said looking through our outfits, checking every detail. "Where should we go first?" Leah asked. "I'm not sure, should we just go for a walk? I know I pretty place we can head to." Red offered, I was down for whatever she suggested. "Yea let's do that, then we can go to the baker Close by." I chimed in, the girls looked excited for the plans ahead of us.

We took a walk down a beautiful path near the enchanted lake. There was a river with lily pads and beautiful trees, lotus flowers and those lily valley flowers. It was gorgeous I won't lie, Chloe seemed to be enjoying her off day and I was just happy that she was. We made it to the bridge that was just right over the river and looked over the railing.

Chloe's POV

Red seems to be enjoying this. I know I am! She doesn't realize how much fun I'm having. Scenery was always my favorite, that's why I'm always looking at Red. Like right now.

Her outfit was so cute and i couldn't help but steal I few glances, without her noticing of course. What would I say if she asked why I was staring? 'You're so gorgeous and I'm not sure how I can put it in any other way' yea, not happening. "Something on your mind princess?" She asked, cutting me off from my thoughts of nothingness. "No, I'm just enjoying the pretty view with my girlfriend." Why did I even think to say that.

"That's cute, you're enjoying your time?" She teased a little before her question. Her hand overlapped with mind on the railing and fiddled with my ring which required her fingers to keep intertwining with mine. Sure we've been together for like a while but her touch still makes me so nervous, my heart races and my face turns an embarrassing pink.. I feel sweaty and- "Princess?" Oops. "Yea, I'm having a good time." I said with a warm smile, she looked a bit skeptical. "What's going on up there?" She asked, pointing to my forehead with a small grin.

I wasn't hesitant to ask at first, but I didn't want to say it out loud.. she'd think I'm obsessed with her, I mean I am.. god Chloe answer the question. "Nothing important." It was very, important. "Are you worrying? Or overthinking?" She asked taking her hand in mine. "No, none of that. It's actually good thinking for once!" I spoke a little proud of myself. "Okay, so why won't you tell me?" She gave me that look. The look that always means "I have an idea of what it is, I just want you to say it aloud" kinda look. I had to play it cool or she'd keep pressing me about it, which is something she'll probably already do. "Why would I tell you that?" I poked her nose and she rolled her eyes playfully.

Ruby's POV

Chloe and Red are on the bridge being.. fruity. While Leah and I are looking at the river from down below, the side walk where the river flowed peacefully.

The view reminded me a lot of Leah, her golden brown eyes representing the perfect soil. The calming sounds of flowing water reminded me of her soothing voice.

Everything about her was perfect, the way the breeze flowed through her hair was perfect. The way the sun shined perfectly on her beautiful freckles, and seeing the little detail in her eyes. It was everything I'd imagined, the perfect image of perfection. "You're staring, sweets." She giggled while her gaze met mine. I hadn't realized I'd been staring at her for an odd amount of time. "Sorry." I spoke softly, turning away to face the water. "Don't be, what's going through your head while you stare?" (Unlike Chloe I can actually voice the thoughts that matter.)

"Just your perfection." I smiled, rethinking everything I'd just thought before she called me out for staring. "Oh yea?" When she said those words it drove me mad, like she's really interesting in what I have to say. "Mhm. Your eyes, and your hair. Your personality and the way you speak to me. It's all perfect, I mean how do you do it?" I joked on that last bit. "Perfect is a strong word sweets." I know she knows that I'll never take back my claim, sure nobody's perfect, until you meet someone who is. "I suppose. It just fits you, y'know?" It was silent for a moment after I said that, I thought I may have said too much or made her uncomfortable.

That was until she gave me a kiss on the cheek, turning me a rosy pink.

I looked her with a stupid smile plastered on my face and I could tell she admired me, I still didn't know why. "What?" She asked laughing a bit on my facial expression. That's when I fully lost myself, gently grabbing under her chin and kissing her lips. "Awwwww!" I heard Red and Chloe say in unison from the bridge, then I really felt embarrassed.

Turning back to Leah she was the brightest of pinks, she immediately looked the opposite direction to hide her face. I thought it was funny, but she didn't find my chuckle appealing. "Shut up, it's just. Allergies." She claimed, it wasn't believable though.

Leah's POV

Ruby and I started to get up so we could head down to the bakery. Our sit and talk was the best thing I'd ever experienced with a partner, especially because I love talking with Ruby. She just.. she gets me.  I get a glimpse of Chloe and she'd just kissed Red, it was cute but definitely not a peck. "Cmon you freaks, let's get some food." I hustled the two blushing girls. They walked down the bridge hand in hand while Ruby and I had already started walking.

It was a peaceful silent walk, aside from the blue and Red girls behind us. "Hey Leah, what if I dyed my hair?" "What color would you do? It's already black with red highlights." I said, waiting for her response. "Maybe pink. Like, a dark strawberry pink." She said, her voice sounded uncertain but I would be as well. "I think you'd look great with that, if that's what you're asking." It was the truth, she'd look great in anything. "Promise?" I smiled at her need for reassurance. "I promise. Pink is your color anyways." I said enthusiastically. "Yea it would Ruby, I could even help you dye it because I'm great at that stuff." Red said confidently but Chloe following right after, "I've literally, never seen you dye hair, If you want to dye your hair Ruby I'll let Dizzy know." Red rolled her eyes scoffing at the failed attempt to ruin Ruby's hair.

Red's POV

We finally made it to the bakery after a long yet beautiful walk. I wasn't all that hungry but I didn't want Chloe to press me about eating something. "Red, what do you want to eat?" Chloe asked, Leah followed asking Ruby the same thing. We were both indecisive, I knew she wasn't hungry and she knew I wasn't either. "Just get us whatever sounds good." I said, and Ruby nodded. They both left us to go stand in line and wait to order.

"I saw you kiss your girlfriend.." I snickered. I loved to tease Ruby about her embarrassing moments, I find them cute so why not taunt her? "Shut up Red!" She whispered yelled to me. "That was so.. bold of you Ruby! I didn't think you'd be the one to pull off a kiss like that." I was genuinely impressed, I mean the grab? How gentle it was?? That's a new level. "Well.. just stop talking about it. You and Chloe were practically making out on the bridge, now that's a new step." She tried to use my words against me but I wasn't falling for her play.

"That wasn't a make out, it was a simple kiss. A peck even." Because that's what it was, don't believe her lies. "Sure." She joked. "But seriously Ruby. You and Leah are to cute and I'm happy to see that you're actually in a relationship with someone. I don't think I've ever seen you this happy in a while." This time she decided to listen to me and not be snobby.

I could see her face turn a bit pink at my observations. "I don't think I've seen myself this happy. I don't know, I guess she's just.. different from the other people I've been with." She said, just the Chloe and Leah came back which was honestly perfect timing for Ruby. "Oh yea? Which people?" She said placing a strawberry shortcake slice in front of her. Chloe placed a plate of beignets In front of me. "Uhm.. My ex Thomas." I grimaced at that name, he was a terrible boyfriend. "I hated that kid. He was so Rude and it took you a month to break up with him." I rolled my eyes.

Taking a bite into this beignet was surprisingly good. I looked at Chloe with shocked eyes and she just giggled. "Red as if you can speak about Thomas. You remember Ace? He was awful!" She joked, that name brought back many memories. "Hey I mean.. you can't blame me, he was really cute." I said, remembering his charm. "Red! He was a bad person! Who cares about looks." Ruby scolded. "Me.." I whispered under my breath but I'm sure she heard "Who's Ace, Red?" Chloe spoke up with a little eye twitch as she took a bite into her blueberry muffin.

"Just a guy I dated." She practically spit out her food. "Yea a terrible one at that." Ruby faded out her words letting Chloe speak with a bit of concern in her face. "You? Dating a guy?! That's crazy considering you're.. you." She joked, I punched her arm jokingly but she acted as though I ripped her arm off. Falling into my lap but getting up soon after. "Okay then. Who have you dated in the past. Before me." I could see her face drop at the question. Everyone was just as intrigued as u were. "Tell us tell us tell us." We all said in unison, she finally gave in after the 5th chant.

"I dated someone named Sawyer. He was actually pretty nice but, I'm me so I wasn't feeling him. We broke up after a week, he was devastated." She laughed a little. I scoffed at the fact she made fun of me for dating a boy when she did the exact same.  "Leah, what about you?" I asked, it took her a moment as she tried to think about it. "Hmm.. I think I've only dated Ruby." She said a little embarrassed. "Awwweee.." Chloe and I said looking at each other, then back at her. "Okay, what about crushes? Who have you had a crush on in the school." Ruby asked in a teasing demeanor.

That's when her face truly went pale.

She was silent for a while, hesitant to tell us who this mysterious crush was. "Okay.. but you guys can't hate me! It was at first and I was just.. excited." She said looking down at her food. We all impatiently waited, practically on the edge of our seats. "For a few days, maybe like.. the first week I got here. I had the fattest crush on Red.." she said embarrassed, not daring to looking any of us in the eye. I let out a laugh along with Ruby, Chloe was not feeling it though..

Chloe's POV

My eye twitched at those words. I knew she had a crush on Red, during that time her and I were also in a relationship. I bit my tongue trying not to spill out everything I'd been thinking. Then she looked up from her plate, her eyes directly facing me as she realized I had been dead silent since her confession.

"I promise I didn't know you guys were together!" She stammered, in all reality I wasn't really mad. Just jealous, and only a hint of it. I stared her dead in the eyes, my gaze pierced through her like one of the sharpest daggers. "Chloe, don't be jealous." Red joked as her hand comfortably rested on my thigh. My gaze didn't break though, and I could tell she was growing worried. "If you quit it I'll give you a kiss" Red bribed me as she spoke low in my ear. "I'm just kidding! I'm only joking, I'm not the girl I was before." I quickly said brushing off her words. She relaxed her shoulders and released the breath she'd been holding in. As she promised Red gave me a quick kiss before going back to eating the snack I'd gotten her.

We sat and talked for a while before deciding to head back to the dorms, it was getting late and Uma didn't want us staying out past curfew anymore. Once Leah and Ruby left to their dorm it was just Red and I. "How's your leg princess?" I asked, shutting the door behind me and locking it. "It hurts a bit but I'll be fine." She said taking a seat on her bed. "Sure. Take some medicine." She tried to object but I quick cut her off. "Now, Red." I spoke with firm in my voice. Then she pulled the medicine from out of the drawer in between our beds and took two. "Thank you!" I said while getting into bed with her. She rested her head in my chest and it wasn't long before we fell asleep.
