Chapter 79

Where Is She?

Tainted Love

Damon

“Blondie, get the fuck up.”

I kick his bed and watch him come to.

His eyes look around the room in confusion until they land on me. Growing ten sizes, his eyes don’t blink. His cover going to his chin to cover his chest from me.

“Really? As if I’m going to stare at your tits. Where is she?”

I shake my head and stand over him.

I woke up with no Savannah in my arms. Her shit is here and she’s not. No bike, no keys, no jacket.

She snuck out to find trouble with Darrion.

She is probably setting his bed on fire or some kind of wild punishment for our fight yesterday.

She isn’t back yet. I’m sure she found it. That has me worried. I don’t want her going to the clubhouse without me.

Too much hearsay to bring her down and set her off.

“Van’s isn’t here?” Blondie sits up in his bed with the cover going under his arms.

“No. Of course she’s here. I must have wanted to give you a wake-up call. Her phone is here, her bike’s gone. Keys. Jacket. Does this place not have a security system? You can’t check to see when the door was last opened?”

Blondie gets what’s going on now. With his cover wrapped around him like some toga bullshit, he goes down the hall to his dad’s room. I eavesdrop from the doorway.

“Savannah’s gone. She left and didn’t take her phone with her. We don’t know when she left. Or where she went.”

I already put a call in to Dax and Dane.

Dane wasn’t at home. Dax didn’t answer.

When Jonah comes out of the room, he looks like shit.

“You’re not paying enough attention to her. I let you stay so it would ease her mind,” he bitches as he walks by.

~Fuck you, pig.~

~I ease her mind all the goddamn time.~

I keep my mouth shut.

For her.

We all go downstairs and watch him go into a room and come back with some cop shit. I don’t have to be a tech genius to know a vehicle tracker site when I see one.

Blondie and I move behind him to see the log in and the call go out.

The map pops up in green with the homing beacon getting pinged off the nearby towers to send back her location.

We wait.

My phone buzzes to show Dax calling me back.

I step a bit away and take the call.

“Is she there?” I get to the point. I don’t like her there without me.

I don’t like her away from me.

“Not anymore. She’s something else, broseph. Van came over and we started drinking. She won eight hundred dollars in one fight. She took down Harrison with a shot to the nuts that made all of us feel bad for him. She crushed his dreams of ever having kids. That’s a definite.”

He laughs but I don’t.

She shouldn’t have been there.

She shouldn’t have been drinking.

She got in a cage again.

She could have been hurt.

I’m sure she is and trying to hide it.

~WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE?~

“When was she there?” Blondie and Jonah look at me. Hanging on the answer.

I know they heard all that. It’s too quiet for them to miss it.

“Van came around at like, four maybe. She was out of it a bit. Wanted to talk to dad. I had to distract her, which was hard to do. I should get a medal for my babysitting your girl last night. She was looking for trouble. Stubborn as a mule, that one. You two are made for each other.”

“Why? Why did she want to talk to him?”

“Don’t know. But she called him Odin. You know how well that would have went down. I kept her out of the bar, before you start in on your bullshit, broseph, the only way I could do that was by getting her in the ring.

“She can’t turn down a dare for shit. I told her to cool it but she looked like she was needing it. I won so much fucking money last night by betting on her.

“Between her and Grave they won every fight last night. Uncle Lawrence was even cheering for them. He brought out the good rum last night after the last one. The club made hella money last night with everyone wanting to take her on. Tell her I got her shit put up too.”

“She left without her jacket?”

She wouldn’t have done that willingly.

After all the work I put into this one, seeing how bad it hurt her to lose the other. She wouldn’t have left it.

Savannah would walk into a burning building for that thing.

It took me two weeks to get her to even message me back after it.

It worked out in the end. I mean, I fixed it the best I could and that made her happy.

So happy she gave me her first blowjob ever.

She wouldn’t have left it.

“Yeah, she left without it after knocking Grave the fuck out, it was weird. They were getting along and everything when she wanted to get a tattoo. He took into the shop and not even an hour she had him out cold. He still hasn’t gotten up.”

Her uncle looks about to shatter.

As if he is made from glass.

She got in the cage again.

While I was off—goddamn!

~What the fuck Savannah?!~

I know they heard all this.

“She shouldn’t have been drinking. Why didn’t I get a call?”

I can taste fresh blood mixing with old. The spots in my mouth have almost healed up.

I can’t break shit here like I would do in my own space.

“Uh, probably because we were having too much fun. Darrion hiding away all night with dad. I had a blast. I feel like a kid today. I’m not even hung over. Let’s go do something today.”

I hang up on him and repress my anger.

“We need to find her. Now.”

Blondie agrees, the two of us looking at the green screen to see if it’s picked up her location yet.

A white circle shows up to map her surroundings out.

Her bike has low Jack.

I left it when I added her speed chip.

“Savannah doesn’t sneak out unless it’s something she can’t wait on, something she shouldn’t be doing,” her uncle adds.

Blondie going to the locked cabinet on the side so he can grab a white box.

~Why?~

~Darrion.~

“She didn’t let it go. She went for answers.”

The code gets received and pings back to show where she is at exactly.

Her location is moving through the countryside, forty miles outside of town. Nothing’s out there, it’s why I took her there when we fucked for the first time.

“Why is she out there?” Blondie speaks up.

“She had an attack, I doubt she knows where she is or what she’s doing.”

Her uncle readies an injection, setting her medication up.

“She got her answers.” Jonah closes the box.

Her uncle goes to the kitchen. Buttons are pressed, I listen in on him making a call.

“An attack? Like the day she freaked about going for a ride with me and you shot her up?”

Blondie nods.

~Fuck.~

“She isn’t his, is she? The rumor is true?”

I ask Blondie, but it’s Jonah that answers.

“She is a Madis. She is my niece, she is Jeremiah and Ellis Madis’s daughter. Their first born child. She will always be. We are her family. And she needs us now. Let’s go.”
