“You know that I’m pregnant so you don’t me to touch you?” Wen Ren Xi looks at her beloved cat with confusion.

Xi Fan just sits down and moves her tail. She says “Miao” to Wen Ren Xi like she answers her question.

“Xi Fan....” Wen Ren Xi is touched.

A lot of people says that when an animal lives long, it will be cleverer. Perhaps it’s true. A lot of time she feels Xi Fan just like her old friend.

“I cannot hold you but we can live together right. Follow me to go to the place I stay okay? I’m sorry to abandon you to other person these three months. I’ll not abandon you again in the future okay.”

Jing Yi passes the money the salary for several months and lets her leave.

Xi Fan keeps on not letting Wen Ren Xi to touch or hold her. She goes to the car by herself, she even jumps on the car by herself. She sits down on the backseat calmly.

They return to the tightly secured mansion. Xiao Jiang and Tang Xi are waiting in front door to welcome them.

The door is opened.

Xi Fan waits until Wen Ren Xi gets off the car and she just jumps off the car. She just follows behind her.

Xiao Jiang notices the cat and smiles. “This is the cat that Fu Ren raised? She looks so docile.”

Xi Fan suddenly stops moving and looks at Xiao Jiang. Xi Fan’s eyes are somewhat scary that makes Xiao Jiang feels a bit surprised.

“She is Xi Fan.” Wen Ren Xi smiles.

“Let’s get in.” Jing Yi holds Wen Ren Xi to go inside.

Xi Fan follows Wen Ren Xi and Jing Yi but before she gets in, she looks back at Xiao Jiang again. She looks hostile.

Xiao Jiang touches his face and finds it so funny. He shakes his head and thinks whether his face is too unattractive for a cat?

The sky turns dark.

After the dinner, Wen Ren Xi and Jing Yi return to their bedroom. Xiao Jiang and Tang Xi stay at small house beside the mansion.

When Jing Yi is not around, Tang Xi will stay in the bedroom at the mansion. When Jing Yi is around, she and Xiao Jiang will stay at the small house.

The night turns late, Wen Ren Xi lays down on Jing Yi’s embrace. She feels peaceful.

She remembers that on the watchtower, the number of guards suddenly increases to four people. Wen Ren Xi asks him casually about it. “I noticed that these two days the number of guards on the watchtower has increased. What is happening?”

“Nothing.”

Wen Ren Xi thinks there should be a problem but Jing Yi doesn’t want her to know but she doesn’t say anything.

The peaceful and happy days pass quickly.

Wen Ren Xi’s belly gradually bulges. During month pregnancy checkup, the doctor says that the baby is developing well. Wen Ren Xi also has no illness cause of her late pregnancy. It’s just her legs are somewhat swelling so she needs to eat more nutritious food.

On the 10th of February, it’s close to Chinese Lunar New Year. Wen Ren Xi suddenly notices that the number of guards on the watchtower has decreased.

At night she asks Jing Yi about it, but Jing Yi doesn’t explain it to her in detail. He just says that the enemy that hid in their internal team has been exposed and captured.

The next day, Wen Ren Xi knows from Tang Xi that someone that lives in the mansion was planned to be assassinated but the plan failed. So the killer exposed his own identity. He was one of them and he was captured.

On the February 14th on the Valentine’s Day.

Jing Yi never knows what is Valentine’s Day, Wen Ren Xi sighs that he has no emotional appeal. She prepares dinner for two of them.

She cooks the steak and arranges the wine glass and fresh flower on the table. She suddenly feels thankful that after they are reconciled, time has passed so quickly. The kid will be born in just two months.

She lowers her head and strokes her belly. She smiles happily and sweetly.

“Miao—” Xi Fan is sitting down on the door to the dining room.

“Xi Fan, come here to have dinner.” Wen Ren Xi stirs the beef and veggie and puts it to Xi Fan’s bowl. She considers that Xi Fan is old, her teeth and digestive system aren’t not as good as before, so she helps her to stir it first.

These period of time Jing Yi turns to be busier and go home late at night.

Wen Ren Xi is waiting for him while reading her book.

09:30 p.m. Wen Ren Xi hears the sound of the car.

Wen Ren Xi stands up and goes to the door to welcome her. The time Jing Yi opens the door, the cold air gets inside because Wen Ren Xi doesn’t wear much, she feels cold.

Jing Yi closes the door. “Why aren’t you sleeping?”

“Today is Valentine’s Day.” Wen Ren Xi smiles shyly, “I want to have dinner together with you.”

“You haven’t eaten your dinner?” Jing Yi seems to disapprove her action. “Didn’t I tell you that I’ll be late. Why are you still waiting for me?”

“I ate a bit of snacks before, so I’m not hungry.” Wen Ren Xi says. “I will reheat the food first.”

Tonight is their first candle light dinner.

The reheated steak indeed is not as delicious as the newly cooked one. But Jing Yi can feel her heart.

Wen Ren Xi pours a glass of red wine for Jing Yi and a glass of milk for herself.

They have a toast.

“I’m very happy.” Wen Ren Xi asks: “What about you?”

Jing Yi smiles. “Me too.”

“Then do you still....” Wen Ren Xi wants to asks, do you still think of Su Mei? But the time she reconsiders, why should she break this good situation to mention about other woman. She stands up and turns on the music.

“Could you dance?”

Jing Yi shakes his head. “No.”

“I also couldn’t.” Wen Ren Xi smiles. “We both cannot dance, then let’s dance as we wish. I want to dance with you.”

Their steps are in a mess, they keep on stepping on each other leg. At last she just laughs in Jing Yi’s embrace.

Jing Yi sits down on the chair and hugs Wen Ren Xi. Looking at her big belly keeps on moving, he is worried that she will have stomachache because her laughter. He lowers his head to kiss her lips to stop her from laughing again.

Wen Ren Xi turns silent and hugs his neck.

This is their first Valentine’s Day. They kiss for a long of time and ends it.

Wen Ren Xi lays down on his embrace and doesn’t want to leave.

Jing Yi takes out a red painted bullet out from his pocket.

“The first time I was sent for a duty, I was shot. I almost lost my life. That time my Ma used the bullet from my body to make a necklace for me to use. Every time I was sent for a mission I will bring it. My Ma said it can protect me safely. After thirty years, indeed it always keep me safe.”

Jing Yi puts on the necklace on Wen Ren Xi.

“In the future, it will protect you and the kid.”

Wen Ren Xi smiles: “how can a soldier like you believe in this superstition?”

JIng Yi replies: “I have worry so I believe in this.”

Wen Ren Xi closes her eyes and yawns: “Let’s sleep. I’m sleepy.”

Jing Yi carries her upstair.

“Tomorrow what time will we go home? In the afternoon, ma called me again to remind me to go home to spend new year with them.” Wen Ren Xi mens Old Madame Jing.

“Tomorrow morning I have things to handle first, let’s go home in the afternoon.” Jing Yi answers.

“Why are you still so busy when it’s almost New Year?”

Jing Yi doesn’t explain too much, he just says: “I’ll be freer after this.”

Wen Ren Xi: “Then tomorrow I’ll arrange everything first to bring there. Then we will go after you are back. I also need to buy gifts and take something from our new house. Ma likes jade right? I bought a set of jade jewelry for her, I put it in our new house....”

She lays down there for a while and stands up. She gets ready to prepare things for the New Year.

Wen Ren Xi goes downstair and notices that Xiao Jiang is holding cat’s food and trying to smooth things up with Xi Fan. Xi Fan looks calm and just watches Xiao Jiang’s action.

Xi Fan turns around when she hears Wen Ren Xi’s footsteps. Then she runs over and just ignores Xiao Jiang.

Xiao Jiang is dejected. But he quickly stands up and greets Wen Ren Xi: “Fu Ren.” Then he yells toward the kitchen. “Xiao Tang, prepare the breakfast for Fu Ren.”

“Aren’t you having holiday?” Wen Ren Xi eats the breakfast and asks both Xiao Jiang and Tang Xi.

“We will have a holiday. We will wait till you and Zong Zhang are home. Xiao Tang will have the holiday first. Zong Zhang give his guards a leave too. So these days I’ll be responsible for you and Zong Zhang’s safety. After few days, it’s my turn to have a rest.”

Xiao Jiang says those in detail like it’s no secret.

“Could you go home?” Wen Ren Xi asks.

Xi Fan keeps on following Wen Ren Xi. Except not letting her to carry her, she doesn’t leave Wen Ren Xi side. No one knows why Xi Fan keeps on pestering Wen Ren Xi today.

There is lots of people inside the department store, Wen Ren Xi is afraid that Xi Fan will be stepped one. So she lets her to stay inside the shopping bag and just leaves her head out.

Jing Yi keeps on guarding Wen Ren Xi too, to avoid anyone bumps into her.

The time they are back at the parking lot, Xiao Jiang has placed the shopping bags on the trunk. Then the time he wants to take Xi Fan out of the shopping bag and his hand touches Xi Fan’s fur. Xi Fan just jumps by herself. Jing Yi opens the door and Xi Fan jumps inside the car.

“She seems to not like me...” Xiao Jiang feels dejected.

Wen Ren Xi smiles: “maybe she doesn’t feel familiar with you. The time you guys interact for a long time, she will like you.”

Xiao Jiang doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “It’s been a month. It seems that I am destined to not get along well with cat.”

The car starts to move.

The time they get into their wedding house, Xiao Jiang, Wen Ren Xi and Jing Yi get inside.

“I think she is the same cat. It’s just she doesn’t like me.” Xiao Jiang says. It’s the first time for him to be disliked by a cat.

Wen Ren Xi forgets where did she put the set of jewelry, she looks for it and finds it in the middle of her wardrobe.

“I’ve found it.” Wen Ren Xi smiles. Then she asks. “What time is it?”

“04:44 p.m.”

“Then we should be quick, everyone should be waiting for us.”

Then suddenly Jing Yi’s phone vibrates. It’s the call from Old Madame Jing. She is asking their whereabout.

Jing Yi just replies honestly.

“Okay.” Jing Yi hangs up.

They both goes out of the bedroom and notices in the living room, Xiao Jiang is trying hard to build good relationship with Xi Fan.

Jing Yi opens his mouth to say something but suddenly his phone rings again. He looks at the caller ID and his eyes turn dark. He goes to the side and answers it.

He doesn’t say anything and just lets the caller peaks.

“Zong Chang, two minutes ago, I got information from our intel. W country spy will steal our war plan. It’s not about the assassin.”

“He also said that the spy might be our army high-level member.”

Jing Yi’s eyes turn cold.

“Now check all the members one by one. You cannot miss out anyone!”

“Okay!”
