Chapter 39

37. Ex's and Oh's

DYSPHORIA

~Finley POV~

"Tell me this is all a fucking joke, Lei,"

I groan as I toss off my jacket, beads of sweat now dripping down my forehead as a shiver runs down my back.

"Or should I say, Walker? What? Are we a fucking pet now?" I grunt as Leitus stands at the closed door and keeps a straight face.

Marius sits on the edge of one of the twin beds set up in one of the guest rooms of 10 Downing Street. With Leitus watching us within the room after being carefully instructed not to let us out of his sight and at least five other guards outside the room. I unbutton my shirt, feeling the sweat dripping down my back with my chest congesting. Reaching the last button, I take a step closer to one of the two windows, carefully peeking out.

"I wouldn't do it if I were you," Leitus speaks and I would have laughed if I hadn't seized into a coughing fit.

"So he speaks?" I wheeze and Mari hops up to wrap an arm around me.

"Finley, you're burning up," He mutters as he forcefully drags me to the bed he was just sitting on.

"I only speak when I have to," Leitus huffs and if I wasn't sick I would have hit him.

"Fucking prick, I hope you know I really despise you. I wish I never met you. I wish...goddamnit. I wish you didn't exist," I groan, my head starts to pound and I just wanted to die.

"You're the most obnoxious Grayson of them all. I don't know how your wife deals with you," Leitus says and I use the rest of my strength to turn so I faced him, feeling a wet cloth placed on my forehead by Marius.

"He's my husband and I'm Mr. Tremblay to the likes of you," I slur, my train of thoughts starting to waver into a tunnel and through my blurry vision, he looks hurt by the gesture.

Good.

"Oh yeah? And where is he now? Why isn't he here? Protecting the man who took his name. Huh? If I was him...I wouldn't leave you alone for a second," Leitus accuses my Kaeden and I can only roll my eyes, unable to fulfill the strong desire to spit in his stupid face.

"Fuck off asshat. At least he didn't participate in an assassination plot against my family," I grunt and Mari shushes me.

"Finley, please ignore him. You need to rest," Mari tries to coax me but Lei's smirk pisses me off.

"Does he even know what you really are?" He asks and I couldn't stop a cough from consuming my entire body.

"Shit," I curse to myself as I grit my teeth to keep them from chattering. Feeling fucked up in multiple ways with no way to stop it. Leitus' boots squeak on the wooden floor as he comes close to me. I try to swat him away but it was of no use since I was so weak.

"I'm sorry that we had to do this to you baby, but don't worry. Giani has the cure. Once I bring the deviant and all his friends into captivity at the gala, you'll be cured, your sham of a marriage will be annulled and you'll marry me instead," he says and I gasp out a shaky breath.

"I'll never...be with you...again," I growl with everything I had left in me before feeling his lips press against my ear.

"Then you can die a Tremblay," he whispers before leaving a kiss of death on my cheek and exchanging places with another officer outside the room.
