Chapter 42

40. Sick & Twisted

DYSPHORIA

3rd Person POV

Group C

10 Downing Street

The security surrounding the Prime Minister's office and place of residence had been loosened due to his absence, currently attending the charity gala at the heart of London which made it easier for the two rebels to pose as two members of the Protection Command.

The fact the head of this section was a member of the rebellion only made the transition a smooth one as Maise and Cassie take their place at the front door. Both waiting for 19:00 to hit so they could switch with the guards on the inside and eventually make their way to Mari and Finley.

When the time comes they fix their uniform hats down to cover their eyes as they walked into the government building. After studying the blueprints kept on the place, the two deviated from where the main hallway before walking up the stairs to the guest bedrooms.

Maisie walks behind Cassie, so not to draw suspicion as she scanned the relaxed room. As they made it upstairs, they could instantly see where their fallen comrades were being held by the two guards standing outside their door. They look at the two uniformed officers who watch them as they switch places with a subtle stiffness.

Once the two guards were out of range, Cassie reached up and pressed her communicator.

"Group C is in," Cassie quickly confirmed to Tizzy who was waiting in between the two main events in case she needed to interfere.

"All groups confirmed," she says back and Cassie nods to Maisie before they girls unholster their weapons and cocking them into position.

On the other side of the door, the angel Marius Nozomi was desperately padding the sweat from his weak cousin's forehead. Finley is a strong man and was trying his best to keep himself awake but the man was slowly slipping to the disease infesting his body.

"Why are you doing this to him? He's done nothing to you," The young man growls, his light brown hair was pushed back, drenched in sweat from taking care of his burning cousin and his shirt had been used as a rag for Finley's burning forehead since Leitus refused to provide anything else.

Sweat dripped down the small man's shirtless back and as he stared down the guard who just so happened to also be Fin's ex-boyfriend.

He knew what had happened in the accident that killed his sweet cousins but never blamed Lei for what happened. Lei's gaze drifts from his pale ex-lover to the beautiful boy. Even while standing before him, drenched in sweat, Marius still managed to look absolutely angelic. His two different color eye one light green and the other a light gray, now watching him carefully.

But Lei's thoughts were interrupted when he also saw the bright red mark on his shoulder. It looked like an inked tattoo and had an oddly shaped star with a sword running through it. His werewolf mark from his mate almost glowed in the gentle light of the room and Lei was surprised to see it.

But the Grayson family, was a family that held many hidden secrets and this, although surprising, was not the most shocking.

Marius noticed Lei's eyes trail his mark and felt the need to display it proudly. Although he was far from his sweet Jamie, he could still feel the hints of his mate's constant worry for his safety in the back of his mind.

It was taking everything the younger one had in him not to rip Lei's head off, knowing they needed him alive for Finley's sake.

"He's done nothing and yet he's ruined everything. Finley Oliver Grayson is the cause of my greatest demise, and I will spend the rest of his life making him pay for it," Leitus explains with a sinister smile but Mari had faith that their loved ones would soon come to their rescue.

Fin groans before turning over and nearly hits the floor as Mari catches him in his arms. Fin's entire body was seizing with pain and it hurt Mari to see his cousin, who was more like a brother to him, so helpless.

"Kaeden will never let that happen," Marius growls as he held Finley's body in his arms.

"Wanna bet-"

The door suddenly burst open as two badass women enter the room with their guns drawn.

"Hands up where we can see them!" Cassie calls out as she kicks the door closed behind her.

But Leitus wasn't about to listen to the two women who were clearly much smaller than him. He laughs in their face and draws his weapon. He would soon regret his misjudgment in underestimating them as Maisie was crazy enough to accept the challenge.

Without thinking twice, she shot first.

Narrowly missing Lei's chest and distracting him while she made the first move, yanking his arm to her left and disarming him before he finally kicked into action and attempted to make the first punch. But because Maisie was so small, she was quicly able to dodge and make a sharp kick of her steel toe boots to his groin.

While the fighting had started Cassie had dropped to the floor to assess her fallen friend. Taking in Fin's condition, she knew it was very likely he had a day left at most. She reaches into her utility belt and grabs the syringe.

"You're injecting him with adrenalyn," Marius comments as his doctor mindset comes out. Cassie confirms his suspicions and quickly injects Fin's outer thigh.

"It's the only shot we have at getting him out of here alive. He would be too weak otherwise," She explains and Fin gasps back to life from the near dead.

"FUCK!" He screams and Cassie pulls the needle out, setting it back in her pouch as she helps Mari stand him up.

Meanwhile, Maisie was knocked to the ground by Leitus, but as she fell she regained the weapon she had lost along with Lei's and pointed both pistols at her enemy. Out of options, Lei stood back and leaned against the wall.

Mari rushes up from behind Maisie taking one of the guns from her and placing it directly underneath Lei's chin in one swift movement.

"If I pull the trigger right here there's a 75 percent chance you'll die and a 25 percent chance you'll be paralyzed, begging for the mercy of death,"

Mari growls with waves of dominance seeping from his small figure. The serious attitude in the tone of his voice sent chills down everyone's spine and silence ensued.

"Tell me where the cure is," he demands making Lei's skin crawl and he craves once the barrel is pushed deeper into the sensitive area beneath his chin.

"Okay, He has it. It's a small vile in his jacket. He plans on exchanging it to one of Kaeden's friends for an announcement to tell the trans-resistance to call off the civil war and conform...and announce his real name,"

Lei spits out and Mari shoots.

Sending a raging scream from Lei as he holds his foot where the bullet had perforated his leather shoe so he couldn't follow them as he returns to Finley.

Tossing an arm around his shoulder, the boys walk out together alongside Cassie and Maisie.

"Tizzy, we need an extraction!" Cassie calls into the coms as they silently make their way out of the house. Slipping past anyone who might find them suspicious.

As they reached the front the roar of a beautiful mustang going at full speed hits the groups ear drums and they turn to see the black racing car pull up beside them.

"GET IN!"

They were all shocked by the voice to see Tizzy at the wheel as they clambered in with The girls and Mari in the back because they were the smallest while Fin took the passenger seat.

"Tzippaurorah? Damn girl, I didn't know you had this in you," Fin comments as he slams the door closed and the group races off into the night on the narrow side street.

"Well there are a lot of things you don't know about me," she smirks before drifting onto the main road shifting everyone sideways.

"Where are we headed?" She asks the group, checking in the mirrors to make sure they weren't being followed.

"The gala,"

Finley says with disgust, knowing the battle was far from over.

There was no way in hell, he was going to come in between Kaeden and his gender identity.

He had done it once before. But he vowed it would never happen again.
