Chapter 376: 369: Good Tea
My Wife Is A Miracle Doctor In The 80s
Zhang Yongâan walked in with a burly girl trailing behind him. This girl seemed rather unlucky and unattractive, which might have something to do with Zhang Yongânian, who, perhaps due to his years of living under pressure, seemed to be growing in reverse. He seemed shorter, which was mainly because of his constant hunching, making him appear smaller than before.
He carefully carried the girlâs luggage and bowed to her frequently, making him look more creepy.
Tang Yuxin understood his cautionary demeanor though.
Zhang Yongâan was a classic well-off Phoenix Man, possessing all the traits that one would expect, like selfishness, self-interest, and vanity. However, he didnât have the abilities that some Phoenix Men may have.
If he could not find someone to depend on, given his current family situation, he couldnât even afford meat, let alone aspire for anything higher. Without a woman working hard to support him and to help pay his tuition, cover his living expenses and send him abroad for studies, Zhang Yongâan would just be an ordinary Phoenix Man.
As Tang Yuxin walked past them, Zhang Yongâan noticed her and gritted his teeth so hard that it felt like they would shatter. Tang Yuxin, who was quite famous at Qing University, was oblivious to her popularity.
A top student in the medical department, a mentee of the vice-principal, she had been on TV and had limitless potential. People said her family was wealthy from their real estate business, and everyone knew the lucrative nature of this industry in recent years. She did not live on campus but had a Siheyuan in Beijing, a courtyard house passed down from the Ming and Qing era, which was currently worth millions.
Zhang Yongâan was calculating all this.

If Tang Yuxin had been his girlfriend, he wouldnât have to worry about money anymore. Heâd have control of their allowancesâenough for them to live on, enough to save some for his parents and enough to cover his post-graduate tuition fees. When she started working, she could bring his parents to live with them. They wouldnât need to buy a house, but would live in the courtyard house instead. This came with a lot of prestige. They could buy a car and have a place to put it.
He was fantasizing about his wonderful future but was not considering whether Tang Yuxin, who had everything, would want someone like him, who had nothing.
Naturally, Tang Yuxin wasnât aware of all this. Otherwise, she might have felt sick.
She lit the stove and took some herbs from the cabinet to make a herbal soup that was as refreshing as mung bean soup and could relieve heat.
The next day, she borrowed some flasks from her fellow students and delivered the herbal tea to everyone at school.
The coaches, upon hearing about this, hurried over. Everyone had a hot cup. Though they might have preferred cold drinks in this heat, lukewarm water was beneficial. The tea wasnât too hot, so it felt comfortably cool when it went down the throat.
The feeling was supremely satisfying. Not only did it quench their thirst, but it also soothed the discomfort caused by the heat, making them feel less weary than before.
âThis stuff is good. We should drink it regularly.â Shen Fei, who had been sipping from his cup since early morning, approved. His health hadnât fully recovered, and the constant changes in temperature affected his resistance.
However, after drinking the tea, he felt relaxed.
âIâm going to find out where this came from. How come we never had this privilege before?â Shen Fei said as he went to find the source. He returned shortly and sat down, acting like the head coach. He had spent more time sitting than standing since he was careful about his legs. Although the doctor had said that his legs were almost healed, they werenât fully cured.
He had managed to save his legs and wouldnât be so foolish as to risk further injury.
Upon their return, he asked Gu Ning, âDo you know who came up with this method?â
âI donât,â Gu Ning stood properly, holding a cup of herbal tea which was very thirst-quenching and could soothe the mind. So, he sipped it frequently.
âItâs Doctor Tang, my little sister Yuxin.â Shen Fei proudly said, as if she was his biological sister. However, she technically was his sister since she had saved his legs, thereby saving his life, and he had to call her âbig brother Shen Fei.â
However, how did the words âsister Yuxinâ sound so grating to Gu Ning?
Knock, knock⦠A sudden knock on the door interrupted their thoughts. To Tang Yuxinâs surprise, Shen Fei and Gu Ning had come to visit.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
âDid we interrupt you?â
Shen Fei asked cheerfully, while Gu Ning maintained the same stoic expression, but he didnât seem as cold anymore. Perhaps it was the heat that had melted most of his icy demeanor.
âNo,â Tang Yuxin replied, surprised they had found her. However, the details of her house were on record with the university. She had used her property certificate to be exempted from staying on campus. Otherwise, the university wouldnât have let her leave.
While others may not have been able to find her, Shen Fei and Gu Ning certainly could. With their positions, locating someone is easy.
Tang Yuxin invited them in and served them some herbal tea, which she also drank regularly.
âThis place is nice.â
Shen Fei liked this down-to-earth place; he didnât like high-rise buildings as they made him feel detached from the earth.
âIndeed,â Tang Yuxin agreed. She also liked the place for the reasons she had fantasized about: waking up to bird song, listening to the wind, watching the rain trickle down, and spacing out in her yard for hours. The courtyard also provided ample space for drying herbs.
âYuxin, we have some matters to discuss with you.â
