Chapter 405: 398: Uncle is Here
My Wife Is A Miracle Doctor In The 80s
Her heart skipped a beat. A wave of indescribable joy filled her to the core. Even Sang Zhilan was taken aback. Did Wei Jiani keep something from her? When did she get such a fantastic boyfriend? She wondered where this young man was from and the circumstances of his family. However, judging from his appearance and demeanor, he didnât seem like an ordinary person.
âNiniâ¦â
Just as Sang Zhilan was about to ask Wei Jiani, a voice interrupted her from behind.
âUncle Gu, when did you get here?â
The man seemed to pause as well. His eyes remained calm and cold. He walked past Sang Zhilan and her daughter without giving them a second glance, just as Sang Zhilan had ignored Tang Yuxin earlier.
He was a stranger to them, unneeded, and of no concern.
Tang Yuxin came out and stood in front of Gu Ning. She had felt a sense of familiarity with him but couldnât pinpoint why until he came closer. To her surprise, it was Gu Ning.
But wasnât Gu Ning supposed to be on a business trip? He mentioned something about introducing a new electronic technology, which made her wonder why he would appear here.
âI came to see you,â Gu Ning told Tang Yuxin, standing tall at over one meter eight to her diminutive one meter six. Even with shoes on, there was still a full headâs height difference between them. Yet, somehow, it felt harmonious. Gu Ning reached out to adjust her clothing, saying, âYou look better in this outfit, itâs more refined.â
âI think so too, itâs just that my hair is too long,â Tang Yuxin admitted, quite enjoying the outfit despite not being a student here where short hair was the norm; in contrast, she had long hair.
âNo, itâs perfect. You donât need to cut your hair,â Gu Ning cast another look at Tang Yuxin. âYouâre a doctor. As long as you donât mind the hassle, nobody would find you troublesome.â He reached out to stroke her hair, behaving as casually as if he was interacting with his junior.
âThis is for you,â Gu Ning handed Tang Yuxin a large bag. âIâve been to Qing University. They said you came here as an exchange student. Fifth Medical University has strict management, so today is the only day where communication with outsiders is permitted.â
âWhatâs this?â Tang Yuxin looked down on two large bags in Gu Ningâs hands. Was it food or something else?
âItâs what your family sent for you. I happened to visit some days ago, and they entrusted me to deliver these things to you. Also, this,â he lifted another bag with his right hand, âThese are the snacks your little brother, Little Fatty, saved for you. I initially thought he was hoarding them for himself, but it turns out he was saving them for his sister. He was afraid you wonât be able to eat well outside, so he didnât allow himself to eat any of these delicious snacks.â When Gu Ning visited, Little Fatty had taken out all the snacks heâd been saving for a long time, startling everyone in the room.
Little Fatty, with his childlike voice, requested that Uncle Gu bring his saved snacks to his sister, nearly bringing tears to the eyes of Tang Zhinian, their father. Tang Yuxin had taken care of Little Fatty since his birth, curing him when he fell ill without letting him taste a single bitter pill. One could even say that Tang Yuxin had raised Little Fatty as her own son. Thus, it was no surprise that Little Fatty was the closest to, and most fond of, his sister.
Seeing all sorts of snacks in the bag, Tang Yuxin didnât know whether to laugh or cry. She didnât eat these things. Gu Ning carried the bags into Tang Yuxinâs dormitory without lingering too long.
âLetâs go. Show your uncle your schoolâs cafeteria.â
Gu Ning joked around, though his expression remained completely serious. But the term âyour uncleâ sent shivers down Tang Yuxinâs spine. She kept feeling like he was doing this on purpose, intentionally behaving like her elder.
âLetâs go,â Tang Yuxin locked her dormitory door, preparing to take Gu Ning to the school cafeteria.
Meanwhile, Sang Zhilan and her daughter felt as if theyâd been deceived, filled with a sense of humiliation. Especially Sang Zhilan, she felt uneasy knowing that Tang Zhinianâs son was fond of Tang Yuxin.
How could Tang Zhinian, a worthless bumpkin, have a son? How could he construct tall buildings? How could he be wealthy? These were beyond her imagination.
Tang Yuxin took Gu Ning to the school cafeteria, which was already filled with parents visiting their children. They found an empty seat and sat down together.
âMr. Huang can walk now. Heâs very grateful to you.â
Gu Ning commented, seeming quite satisfied with the cafeteria at Fifth Medical University. The strict management of the school resulted in a clean cafeteria.
âThatâs wonderful,â Tang Yuxin had been worried about Mr. Huang. Hearing he could walk again assured her that his leg was nearly recovered. The remaining treatment would focus on post-op recovery, which could vary greatly depending on the individual. Some might recover faster, while others might take longer.
Gu Ning wasnât picky about the food here. In fact, he didnât seem to be picky about anything. As long as there was food to eat, even plain white rice was fine for him. His speed of eating was typically fast, possibly due to being tied up with work all the time and his constantly busy schedule.
Gu Ning didnât linger after finishing his meal and departed promptly but not before handing Tang Yuxin a package. She held a box in her hand, shook it lightly, and wondered what was inside.
After handing her the box, Gu Ning disappeared. He exited the school gate at an incredibly fast pace, so fast that he seemed to vanish the moment he got into his off-road vehicle, true to the adage.
Like the wind he came, like the wind he left.
Tang Yuxin brought the box inside. It was nicely packaged, but she was clueless about its contents. She shook it lightly; it seemed pretty light.
When she returned to her dormitory, all her roommates were there. Seeing the number of items on Tang Yuxinâs bed, they were all surprised.
âYuxin, did your family come as well?â
âYes, they did,â Tang Yuxin opened the bag of snacks for her roommates to enjoy. âAn uncle of mine came over. My parents sent some stuff over as well. These are the snacks my little brother saved for me. The little guy didnât even allow himself to eat them.â@@novelbin@@
Her roommates couldnât help but want to laugh when they saw the bag full of small snacks like PopStar.
