Secretly The Billionaire Boss By Debbie Chocolate Chapter 166
Secretly The Billionaire Boss
Chapter 166: The truth Avery blinked once. âWhat?â
âYou wanted a divorce, and Iâm giving it to you,â he muttered.
Avery nodded briefly.â Iâm glad. I will tell Grandpa about it but you should also see him and explain so it wouldnât look like a lie,â she explained. Grey nodded once, with a straight face.â No problem,â he turned around and left. Avery noticed a change in Greyâs facial expression but she didnât care, she was supposed to be fast about it before Grey would initiate the divorce and make her look like a fool. That aside, Grey must have thought that she wouldnât find out about the assault issue and she was very much disappointed in him.
Avery arrived at work and couldnât wait to talk to Chloe about it. She wanted to know how she felt about the decision she had just made. Sure, she knew she would be happy. She has always advised her to divorce. It was recently that she started speaking in parables. Maybe she didnât want Avery to use her as an example.
Avery dialed her number. It rang severally but she didnât pick up. Though, at a point. It felt like Avery had rushed in her decision. She wanted someone to reassure her that it was very fine.
It didnât take up to thirty minutes when the door jerked open suddenly. âAvery!â A thick voice boomed.
Avery looked up, somewhat surprised â Is something wrong?â
âHave you seen the magazine?â He asked, with a magazine dangling in his hand.
âWhat is it about?â
Smith placed the magazine on the table and flipped through the pages. He stretched it out for Avery to see.
âWhy would Protos Pubblicita do this to us? We signed a contract with them. Why would he promote another cream production? Why would he promote Greyâs company,â he announced. Actually, he had announced it before he e knew what he said. Avery looked up at him, shocked. âGreyâs company?â
Smith sighed and leaned back. âYes, you didnât know that Grey has a company now?â
Avery shook her head quickly.â When did he start? How?â
Smith shrugged, âPerhaps you should ask him.â
Avery flared up.â How can you say that when you knew I had already requested a divorce?â
Smith shrugged slightly.â But he didnât agree to it, right? Though, he amazed me these days. He had always been submissive. But, if you leave it to me, I will definitely help you out. He would be forced to agree like the first time.â Avery blinked once, lost.â He has already agreed. What are you talking about?
What first time?
And why didnât you tell me that Grey has a company and what company is that?â
Smith regarded her for a moment before he slowly let out a sigh.â He got the company from Seth. He just started today and in fact, the open day is today,â he announced. Avery blinked once.â You knew this and you didnât tell me about it?â âWhat difference does it makes? Heâs not the best for you after all.â
Avery smirked.â You sure know the best for me, Smith,â she expressed sarcastically.
Smith laughed. âOf course, I do. Anyways, you need to inform Protos Pubblicita. The new secretary is being stupid. I mean why would she sign a long-term contract with us when she would be promoting another company?â Avery sighed.â Are you saying they shouldnât promote other companies? Is that even possible?â
â Then, they shouldnât place it beside ours. With the way they did it, it was like they were telling the public to go for Greyâs company instead of ours. It shouldnât be,â he complained.
âIâm sincerely not going to do anything about it. I think you should leave it this way. Iâm happy that Grey is doing something with his life anyways. We should be happy for him.â Smith stared for a moment, shocked before he burst into laughter.â What did you just say? Do you think Grey has a good future?â
âDonât underestimate him!â âPot calling kettle black,â he fired back.â You underestimated him too.
Whatâs the difference between you and me?â
Actually, Avery felt a twist in her heart at his words. He was right anyways. But for an unknown reason, Avery couldnât stop thinking about Grey.
âThough, he had nothing when you married him,â he hinted and sat. âThough heâs trying now doesnât mean he would succeed, he would definitely fail. Do you know that?â
Avery blinked, confused. âWhat are you talking about? What trick is up your sleeves again.â She knew that her brother was at it again.
Smith laughed again.â Why donât you leave that for me?â He stood up to leave.
âI didnât underestimate him when we married,â she said suddenly, stopping Smith in his track. âI was annoyed because of the circumstances involving how we married,â she looked up at Smith.â It was his fault anyways that I had to get married at such time.â Avery blamed everything on Grey Smith grinned. âIt doesnât matter, Avery. You hated him from day one. I actually knew you were not going to change your mind about him, I know how your mind works Avery,â he said, reassuring, then he turned again to look at Avery.â You should accept Chrisâ request in time. He would make you liappy.â
Avery sighed.â If you really know how my mind works, then you should know that Iâm being hesitant with Chris.â
Avery had been thinking about it all day, she had been comparing Chris with Grey and finally realized that aside from the money, Avery had no reason for staying with Chris. Somehow, it looked like Avery liked Grey more than Chris The cheating news she heard was what eventually made her think of divorcing Grey.
Smith felt alarmed.â Why?â âIâm just not feeling right with him. And Iâm starting to see this in a different direction. For an unknown reason, I donât feel it was right for breaking up. Perhaps our meeting was a coincidence, perhaps we were met to be.â She wanted Grey to accept the divorce but she didnât want it so soon. It felt as though Grey was really cheating on her. If not, he shouldnât have agreed to it so fast.
No matter how much Avery thought about it, she couldnât comprehend it. Though she wasnât angry she was just sad over it which doesnât even make any sense. She should be glad that Grey was out of her life already. âSeriously?â Smith was amused.â Are you kidding me? Is that meeting a coincidence? I arranged the meeting and made you guys marry. I donât see anything strange in it except the fact that you are starting to think greedily.â âGreedy? Wait what! You arranged our meeting? How?â
Smithâs mouth made a twist as a tactical acknowledgment of an error. âI arranged how Grey got to be in your room, Avery. Did you think Grey loved you or did you think you guys had something special? It was arranged.â
Avery blinked, as shock took over her. âWhat did you just say?â
Smith shrugged slightly. âitâs over anyways. You might as well know about it.â He knew that Avery doesnât really like apologizing. She was really stubborn. There was no way she would do anything concerning it, no matter how annoyed she was.
