Secretly The Billionaire Boss By Debbie Chocolate Chapter 75
Secretly The Billionaire Boss
Chapter 75: Inferior Grey had to wait in front of the door for the girls to finish up. It took a while as they were laughing and chatting. Grey groaned severally but he knew that Avery wouldnât want to be late as well. She was currently the CEO of LN material company and she wouldnât want to disappoint her grandfather. Truly, the door opened a few minutes later and Avery stepped out, still laughing with Chloe. âGood morning,â he greeted but the ladies were too busy talking that they didnât even hear him or maybe they heard and didnât want to reply, Grey couldnât say.
Grey entered the room and tried to get ready very fast. As he was making his tie, his phone beeped. It was a message from Aphrodite.
Greyâs eyes went wide with shock as he read through. The Blue Diamond was really rare, that was what Aphrodite confirmed. In fact, only one of the diamonds was in the city at the time of the auction to that moment. It was because of this that Aphrodite desperately wanted to buy it. That was why she kept increasing the price until she couldnât go any further.
Where did Chris get the Diamond then? When Grey got out, Smith was at the table which was very odd. He took his seat beside Him anyways since Chloe had taken his seat.
TT âWhat are you doing here, smith?â Emma bombarded him, she doesnât seem to like him.
Smith smiled. âIâm at my uncleâs house. I think that question is a bit out of it.â Lucy nodded. âHeâs right, Emma. He had equal rights as you and Avery,â he affirmed. Emma groaned, clearly unsatisfied by her fatherâs remark. Silence permeated for a while. âLest I forget, Smith will be handling the contract with Protos Pubblicita,â Lucy said suddenly âWhat! Grandpa! I should be doing that!â Avery said quickly.
âYes, sheâs in charge,â Emma chimed in.
Lucy cleared his throat meaningfully and took a glass of water. He drank to his heartâs content. âSmith is handling the contract and thatâs it!â He said in a voice that left no room for more words. Averyâs face fell and everyone went silent. But there was a satisfied smile on Smithâs face.
Grey groaned inwardly. He wondered what Lucy was trying to do when he, as Hercules, stated that Avery must be the head of the team that would be involved with Protos Pubblicita.
Lucy and Smith left way earlier.
âI donât believe my father can do this!â Emma fumed.
Benjamin, who has been quiet for a while, decided to talk.â I believe he had his reasons for this. I mean heâs not removing Avery as the CEO.â
âUntil when?â Emma yelled angrily. âIâm sure Smith is talking into his ears. And this is all Greyâs fault!â
She pointed an accusing finger at him. She was red as charcoal.
Grey stood up quickly. âI will leave now, bye,â he said quickly and rushed out of the room with his briefcase.
He pulled a call to Jane the moment he pulled out of the Robison house. âHi, Mr. Fox. Good morning,â
Janeâs voice came from the other side, loud and clear.
âProtos Pubblicita is going to meet with LN material today right?â
âYes, master. We are supposed to get into work today,â she explained. Grey shook his head once.
âAlright, now if they send Smith over, we are terminating the contract.â
Jane went quiet for a moment. âAlright, master.â
âYes, this contract will only carry on if itâs Avery Robinson that is representing LN material. Tell them this,â he ordered.
âAlright Boss,â Jane replied softly and Grey hung up.
Seth had set an appointinent with Chris at the office a day before. âSo, what do you want me to do now?â Chris asked as he crossed his long legs, with curious eyes watching Seth.
Seth let out a sigh.âI only want you to help me with the shares. I will definitely pay you back soon!â He assured him. âThat aside, you will get it with interest if you can help me.â
Chris nodded briefly. Seth worked for him. So, it was only fair that he helped him. But he wanted to use the money to get a very expensive wristwatch for Lucyâs birthday because Avery told him that he loved watches. But at the mention of interest, Chris couldnât help but find the offer good to him. âAlright, then but I canât guarantee I will be able to pay it all. I will write you the cheque for 60%shares. You can sort the remaining 10% on your own.â
Seth smiled. âThank you so much,â he was so happy.
He could easily sort himself out with the remaining 10%. He could even take a bank loan.
Chris wrote him the cheque.
Just as he walked out of the office, Chrisâs phone rang. It was Avery.
Chris was happy because Avery had never called him during work hours. He knew that she would love the Blue Diamond. âHello Avery, how are you doing?â
âFine. I want to ask you a question, Chris.â Avery couldnât stop thinking about the blue Diamond and wanted to confirm the price with Chris. She doesnât really expect Chris to get her a 50 million dollars worth of Diamond. What if he was proposing? How much would the ring cost? Probably 100 of million dollars.
âYes, go on.â
âHow much did you get the blue Diamond?â She didnât let Chris talk as she continued. âIâm not really asking to sound rude to you but I met a long-time friend and she told me itâs Pure Rinaâs heart. In fact, she told me how rare it was.â
It was at that point that Chris felt at ease. âHow much did she say it cost?â
âFifty million dollars. So, I just wanted to ask and be sure she wasnât exaggerating.â
Chrisâ heart skipped a sudden beat. How did it happen? He got the ring for five million dollars. How did it happen? âAre you there?â Avery jerked him out of his thoughts. âYes,â he stuttered. âMay I call you back? I have an appointment to handle,â and he hung up. He placed a call to the guy he got the ring from. The guy was international and dealt with a lot of diamonds.
âHello.â
âMax, Iâm only going to ask you this question once. How much was the blue Diamond you sold to me the other day?â
âFive million dollars.â
Chris felt a stab of annoyance. âIâm talking about the actual price!â He yelled in a thick voice.
Max went silent for a moment. âItâs 50 million dollars. Itâs not on sale and that was an imitation.â
âWhat!â Chris roared. âYou mean you sold a fake ring to me?â Chris couldnât believe his ears.
Max sighed. âYou wanted something very unique and rare but you were not ready to pay the price. As a matter of fact, the ring could cost more like the last auction. Aman got it for 200 million dollars.â âWhat!â
Chrisâ eyes almost went out of their socket in shock. Who was rich enough to get a ring for 200 million dollars at a go? Even Chris could not do so.
