Chapter 39

When I tried to pull the blanket towards me, Geet said, "Come Payal, I don't have any clothes either."

Moon said, "Are you two still kids or what?"

Moon threw the clothes. Earth picked them up and gave them to me. Hiding under the blanket, I put on the clothes and said, "It was your idea, this competition."

Geet said, "I don't even remember what happened." She was holding her head.

I looked at Geet, not sure why my memory is so good. For the first time, I feel like cruse, why do I remember every touch? Why do I know? I got angry and started to leave, and Geet said, "Do you remember, Payal?"

I felt like strangling her, but I controlled my anger and lay down on the bed. Everyone left, and Geet went to freshen up in the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror. I think I lost one of my earrings. I remembered her biting my ear.

Geet came out ready and said, "Why are you all red? Do you think I'm going to come naked in front of you?"

"You...!" I pointed a finger at her in anger.

"What 'you'? Why are your ears so red? That only happens when I kiss there..." Geet said with a smile.

"Stop... bothering... me..." My voice started to falter, and I went into the bathroom.

From behind, Geet said, "Are you sure you don't remember?"

I didn't stop, just ran into the bathroom. My problem is I can't control my heart. I thought I had forgotten. But I'm turning back into the Payal who was madly in love with Geet. It was hard to forget Geet when she was in my mind, but now she's stamped all over my body. Everywhere I look, I'm reminded of Geet. Every touch is replaying. My heart starts racing. I've never felt this nervous in years, and it takes so much effort to show confidence in front of Geet.

When I came out after freshening up, Geet wasn't there, thank God. I wanted to poison her, but she wouldn't die so easily.

On the table, Geet was drinking tea, and I went down and said to Earth, "Thank you for what you did yesterday! You brought me here."

Earth said, "No biggie! Wait a minute, you remember?"

With a fake laugh, I said, "No, I guessed! You brought me here, so obviously I came."

I started drinking tea. For a few seconds, there was silence, and then I remembered the scene where Geet and I were talking about CPR. I spit out the tea and started laughing. Everyone looked at me, surprised.

Moon said, in anger. "Have you gone mad? Did you talk to your therapist?"

Geet said, "The one calling me mental is now seeing a therapist herself?"

Moon slipped and said, "We had to come together to bring you two together, otherwise, she'd go crazy."

"What?" I said.

Earth said, "She's just joking."

I glared at them and angrily asked, "Tell me the truth. Do you two really love each other? This marriage isn't a lie, is it?"

"Yes, 100% pure." Earth said, laughing.

Moon said, "If your inquiry is over, tell me when you two will do a project together."

Geet angrily said, "I don't do business with people I don't trust."

Moon finished breakfast and got a call from 'bloodsucker.' Moon said, "Why are you stopping me? Moon, I have proof that what Geet said was true. You told me to keep quiet for so many years. Because of you, Geet and Payal aren't together."

Moon went away to talk and said, "Why do you keep calling me? I told you, forget all that. I'm starting a new life here. Yes, I went crazy for a while and I regret it, that's why I'm arranging their story. I'm marrying Earth. Don't bring all this up again."

I asked to Earth, "Moon has changed, are you and Moon happy?"

Earth said, "I'm happy, but Moon can't sleep properly. She's troubled by something."
